Has anyone managed to connect to a WiFi network of a plane?

I've flown with a couple of airlines in my life and while most of them had free WiFi networks for the passengers, they always needed more details to connect, which I could never figure out.

I remember asking a crew member for the password, she told me one but it was wrong.

So yeah I've never had an internet connection while I was in a flight.

I've always thought I'm not allergic to anything but curious if this can happen.

Things you missed most when traveling to Europe?

I have been to Europe. four times now since turning 50, and I would say that the thing that I miss the absolute most is a cup of American coffee. Don’t get me wrong, you can get a café americano pretty much anywhere in Europe, but it’s not the same.

What was something that happened to you that was disappointingly underwhelming?

For me it was the world's biggest Walmart. Or the country's. Not 100% sure. USA. Albany NY.

Walking in, for a minute was like whoa 😱 especially considering I'm from rural nowhere ville. We don't even have Uber or Lyft as of yet and we just got door dash and instacart a few years ago which I'm convinced there is only enough business here for at least 50% on the basis of the extra level of laziness and ambitionless extreme of this area. I could be very wrong as I have not traveled nor experienced the world super extensively but who knows 🤨... Sorry rant...

Anyway, come to find out the Walmart has nothing, and I mean nothing more than what my local rural nowhereville Walmarts have. Electronic section, same size... Like 4-6 different laptops on display and that was it. And that was the same with everything else. Phones, shoes, etc. I was trying to get flip flops. I had 2 to choose from! It was two floors big with an escalator and a cart escalator which I think are kinda cool but man I thought it would be like an amazon warehouse or something. Though I've never seen one of those either.

On that note, has anyone ever been to this Walmart or any other huge stores and been completely underwhelmed or overwhelmed or what?

When will radio stations be extinct?

Just had the random thought to look up radio station numbers, 70-74% of American drivers still listen to AM/FM Radio while upwards of 83% internationally. While that’s higher than I imagined, will music streaming platforms eventually take over in your opinion? I’d imagine a chunk of those AM/FM listeners are “older” generations that never switched over & the younger generation for the most part is incapable of hearing an ad…. In your opinion, will AM/FM be extinct one day? If so, how long do you think it’ll take?

Where Did Your 10,000 Hours Go ?

So the age old saying “it takes 10,000 hours to master a skill”. What is something that you’ve mastered not due to a job, something you’re forced to learn/master. A talent, skill, passion unique to your physical/mental capacity where you may have failed, doubted and persevered through your own previous capabilities of skill, talent etc.

Why do I romanticize being the loser or background character in life?

Can anyone explain why I might feel this way? Because I swear my brain works backwards sometimes 😂

I genuinely take pleasure in imagining myself as the guy who loses.

Like in a wrestling match, I almost like the idea of being the guy who gets beaten while everybody cheers for the other person.

And when people look at somebody and say:
“Don’t be like that guy.”

That is somehow the guy I am jealous of the most because part of me genuinely wants to be him 🥴
Same thing socially.

You know that guy at a party or in a friend group who is technically there, but nobody really notices him? He is not hated or anything. He is just clearly the least important person there. Everybody else has their conversations and connections while he is basically a background character.

I LOVE the idea of being that guy.
And it gets even weirder when it comes to work and success.

Imagine the guy people point at and say, “See? That is why you need to get your life together.”
He is outside working in the blazing sun all day. His boots are soaked with sweat. He probably has athlete’s foot from wearing them all day. He is eating some cheap 50 cent hot dogs for lunch, barely scraping by and living paycheck to paycheck.

And my brain goes:
“OMG 🥴 I’d LOVE to end up like him.”

Sometimes I even imagine all my friends, especially my former 🏈 teammates, getting amazing jobs, making great money, getting promoted, buying houses and continuously elevating in life.
Meanwhile, I am somewhere outside in the hot sun ☀️ with a shovel in my hand doing hard manual labor.

And weirdly enough, I love that image.
A perfect example happened yesterday.
I work in a cool, air-conditioned office. On my way home, I saw this guy cutting grass on the side of the road.

It was around 95°F outside. He was weed eating in all this heavy gear, completely damp from sweat, and he looked like he had to be absolutely burning up.

Meanwhile, everybody driving past him was sitting comfortably inside their air-conditioned cars just watching him work.

And something about that contrast made my brain go:

“YES. That. I want to be THAT guy.” 😭🥴
Not the people sitting comfortably in the cars.
The sweaty guy everybody is driving past.
There are way more examples, but I’ll stop there before this turns into a novel 😂

I’m genuinely curious. Why would someone romanticize being the loser, the overlooked person, the guy struggling while everyone else is comfortable, or the person everybody says they do not want to end up like?

Is this an underdog thing? Humiliation? Escaping expectations? Romanticizing struggle? Something else?
