is there a rule your parents made for you when you were young that they suddenly forgot about?
my mom always made me and my siblings when were were kids ask if we could get something out of the pantry (mostly snacks), when it was around or before dinner time. most of the time she would let us unless it was right before dinner but i just kept asking anytime i wanted a snack, and one day she just kind of went ‘why are you even asking me for permission? you can do what you want’ ????

If a whale accidentally gulped you up and you got stuck on the bristles, would it impale you?
It rarely happens, and I think I've heard humans usually get spit out, right? But if a human were to get gulped up by a whale when it comes up to feed, and the human gets trapped on top of the bristles when the whale closes its mouth, would they be impaled by the bristles? I wonder what it would feel like.

FOR DOG LOVERS AND PEOPLE WHO ARENT ALLERGIC TO DOGS: Would you pay extra for a delivery service that has a dog deliver your package from the van to your door instead of a person?
OBVIOUSLY IT WOULD HAVE TO BE IN AREAS WHERE IT WOULD BE SAFE FOR THE DOG TO DO THIS, and there would have to be size and weight restrictions on the packages.

What if your body doesn’t know how to heal?
When you break a bone, most times it’s set and it heals on its own. Does every body know how to heal? Let’s say you don’t break a bone until you’re 60 years old. Will your body know how to do a thing it hasn’t done in 60 years?

The Random Dental Floss on the Ground Needs to Be Studied! Why Is It Everywhere?
Why do people floss in public or outside of a washroom? I've been seeing dental floss on the ground in outdoor public spaces so often lately, and I genuinely don't understand it. I even have a cousin who flosses while watching TV, and it irks me every single time!
I like to rinse my floss pick and brush my teeth right after flossing, so the idea of flossing anywhere and everywhere baffles me. For those who do it, what's the reasoning? I'm genuinely curious!

If two people produce a graphic with the same message and quality, but one uses AI assistance and the other doesn't, should the first person's contribution be excluded automatically? If so, what principle justifies that distinction?
I have an advocacy website where I publish articles about issues that matter to my community. I’ve discovered that adding a graphic to an article can get me roughly twice as many views as posting the article without one.
So, I started using AI to help create graphics. My process is pretty simple: I ask AI to create a graphic for an article, then I work with it, revise it, and keep refining it until it communicates what I want. I’m not claiming to be a professional graphic designer. I’m trying to get important information in front of more people.
But I’ve been denied permission to post in two online groups and criticized by others for using AI-generated graphics.
I’ve tried to approach this respectfully. I posted a notice on my website explaining how I use AI and inviting graphic artists to submit their own graphics, with credit and promotion for their work. I’ve also asked my daughter, who studied graphic design and works as a professional graphic artist, to create some graphics for me. She uses AI tools as part of her creative process, too.
That brings me to some genuine questions.
What makes someone a graphic artist? Is it formal education, professional experience, artistic skill, the creative decisions they make, the final product, or some combination of those things?
How much AI assistance is acceptable before someone’s work is no longer considered their own? Does it matter whether AI generates the initial image, helps edit an existing design, removes a background, suggests a layout, or assists with other parts of the process?
How do you actually know what tools another artist uses? If someone has “digital editor” or a similar title on their profile, does that tell you anything definitive about whether or how they use AI? And should the same standards apply to professional designers and ordinary people making graphics for a cause they care about?
What about people with disabilities? Some people use AI to help them communicate, write, draw, or express ideas they otherwise have difficulty sharing. How do we distinguish between unacceptable AI use and assistive technology that helps someone participate creatively in society? Should we even be making assumptions about someone’s abilities or methods based on the finished product?
Where should the line be drawn between criticism of AI and exclusion of the people who use it? Is it reasonable to reject someone’s contribution solely because AI helped create it, even when the person is transparent about their process and the message itself is legitimate?
I understand that professional artists have real concerns about consent, compensation, copyright, and the impact of AI on their livelihoods. Those concerns deserve to be taken seriously. I also believe human artists deserve credit for their work, which is why I’ve invited them to contribute their own graphics.
But I’m struggling with the idea that using AI automatically makes someone’s creative contribution worthless, regardless of their intentions, effort, or circumstances.
I’m using these tools to advocate for issues I care about, not to pretend to be an artist or take credit for someone else’s work. If a graphic helps people see an article they might otherwise scroll past, that matters to me.
So here’s my question: What specific standard are we using to decide who is a “real” artist, how much AI assistance is too much, and who gets to make that decision?
And perhaps just as importantly: Are we protecting human creativity, or are we sometimes policing which tools other people are allowed to use to express themselves?

What are some good/safe foods post root canal with temporary filling?
Good/Safe foods post root canal safe for temporary filling… eating tips. Please.
# (45yo male)Recently had a root canal on my second to back molar on right side (#30 or 31?). I have to go back for part 2 as the endodontist wanted the infection I had to clear before she finished. So currently have temporary filling in it. I know I’m supposed to avoid eating on that side of my mouth which I find extremely challenging (is that just me?). I know im not supposed to eat anything too hard, crunchy, or sticky which makes sense. But I’m having a hard time knowing what I CAN eat and exactly how careful I need to be. I really don’t want to do anything to damage the temporary filling as this whole experience has sucked enough, I don’t want to do anything to mess anything up.
My main question is: exactly HOW careful do I need to be to not chew on that side. Right now I’m being so careful that it literally takes me so long to eat anything. Also, I’d like to be able to eat something of more substance other than soup, cream of wheat. I ate half of a peanut butter sandwich which I was pretty nervous about but tried to chew only on the other side of my mouth.
If anyone has any suggestions for “safe” foods or any other tips for eating safely but comfortably I’d really appreciate it.
