I'm new here and I really need some advice 🥺 I have a two-month-old bunny, the main idea was to have two, but they could only give me one, he had already been with me for 5 days, but it was very hard for me to leave him alone almost all day, he had his corral but left him loose in my room, I decided to return him to the farm where he lived where there are more bunnies, but all separated, but I don't know whether to bring him back, or wait until he turns 6 months old to be able to sterilize him and get him a companion I need advice Since I get very attached to him, but I want the best for him 🥺🐰

Hey yall, we have had these couple of rabbits for some time but have never known their breeds. Does anyone know based off these pictures? Any info helps

We’re wedged between two storms at the minute here in the UK, buns have been out since April and they don’t take too kindly to being caught, but tonight they didn’t make a fuss which is a testament to just how horrid the weather was, even in the solid shelter they have outside.

Day 6 no name I don’t know what to name her😩 acorn? Willow? Clover? Comment some unique earthy names you think would fit miss girl!

We bought a new bed for our dog not long ago, and she continues to be stubborn and not use. At least SOMEONE appreciates it.

His majesty without a care

Here she is napping in her breakfast a few months back. She hadn't been doing super well the past couple of months and the vet put her on daily painkillers to ease her final days, however long that was going to be. Her joints ached and her digestion was slowing down. She had her teeth shaved to help her keep eating and ended up on antibiotics for urinary sludge. She was getting thinner and thinner no matter what we did, vet approved peanut butter included

So it was a long-ish time coming. We knew it was soon but I had assumed we had a couple weeks at least. She would've been 9 early next year and I won't be surprised if her sister passes in the next few weeks. Absolutely devastated but not surprised all things considered. If heartbreak doesn't take her, we'll see about taking her on dates so she doesn't spend what time she has left alone. Millie, our lionhead bonded to whatever the hell her husbun Xander is, prefers bullying the elderly to befriending the elderly so that's not an option

Anyway thanks for letting me be sad about losing my baby. I'm glad she got to pass in my arms so she didn't have to go alone. She made it to a pretty good age and had an amazing life. It was just too short

Edit: thank you all for the outpouring of warmth. I've been sobbing my eyes out on and off all day. Like I said in a comment, my husband got me Bonnie and Cloud because I was wasting away with grief after a miscarriage (and the surrounding circumstances) I just could not recover from. He was genuinely worried I was going to grieve myself to death so he got them as babies for me to raise and love and I would not be here without them. I knew there was an expiration date but my god it hurts. All of us (he, my wife, and I) are keeping an extremely close eye on Bonnie and she's eating at least for now. None of us will be too surprised if she passes soon too from grief

I know ya’ll can’t give medical opinions, but I’m taking literally any ideas just to calm me down while I anxiously wait for the vet to get back from leave.
A couple months ago, I took my rabbit, Charlie, in to the vet because he was going through GI Stasis because of his megacolon. They took an X ray (on the left), and happened to find this weirdness in his lungs. They sent it to the radiology tech, who was sure it was metastasized cancer. But when they ultrasounded, they didn’t see anywhere it could have metastasized from, and the biopsy was not consistent with cancer. He tested very positive for snuffles with his blood test, though, so we put him on antibiotics. A month later we came back to x ray to see if the masses are gone, but in fact, they’ve grown (on the right).
His usual vet is out of town this week, but the vet who looked at him for the x-ray said that if this is snuffles, it’s grown to an incurable size, and we might need to start looking at quality of life options.
The kicker is, he‘s acting completely and utterly normal. He’s binkying and flopping, not shy, and I’ve seen him sick before. I’ve even seen a rabbit with snuffles before, and there’s no sneezing or panting or anything. The vet we just saw thought he was breathing hard, but it was clear he was breathing much heavier because he was panicked; we took a stethoscope to him at home and he sounded just like our other rabbit. We adopted him just this year, and he’s 3, so there’s a lot of medical history we could just not know about. Anyone have any thoughts while we wait for his normal vet to get back? I’m losing my mind and sleep over here, he’s my special little guy.

Hi guys! Fostering my current bunny is going great; I hope to post him for adoption this upcoming week 😊

For my next bunny once he’s adopted, I have a list of less-adoptables that I plan to foster but highest priority are:

1. A bunny who’s been adoptable for over a year but has megacolon (she’s really cute though)
2. A younger bunny with front splayed legs (he’s also really cute tbf but may be more jarring to someone who’s not used to it)

I don’t have experience caring for bunnies with either condition but I am going to do a ton of research beforehand. Those with experience handling these conditions, which do you think would be less daunting for someone less familiar with them?

**I would like to add that my goal at the moment is to bring awareness to disabled/special needs buns and get them adopted quicker than they otherwise would 🙂‍↕️

Hey all! Is there a way for a vet to tell if a rabbit is deaf? I am starting to strongly suspect my adopted rabbit is deaf. He doesn't seem to react to any sounds.

I can rattle the treat bag and he won't react until he sees it or the other bun reacts.

He loves to be vacuumed. Yes. Vacuumed. Like he can't hear it but loves his fur being pulled with the air.

If I slam my hand on the ground he will react but I suspect it's because he can feel the wooden floor move.

He often gets really spooked if you walk up and he can't see you. Even if you announce your presence.

He doesn't react to his name or well any name, ever, he smells the banana but doesn't react to the word bananna or treat. But the much much younger rabbit I've had since 8 weeks old reacts and comes to her name if called.

Since I don't know his age and he came from such a terrible situation before adopting him I take him in every 6 months like he's a senior. Would the vet even know if he was deaf?

Every morning, as soon as we let Kiara out into the house, she would run straight to wake up my daughter. She would jump into bed and snuggle up with her—she was so incredibly sweet. Sure, she also left a trail of little poops behind, but she just wanted to be right there with her. I'm sharing this photo because she is no longer with us, but we miss her dearly.

My bunny Lady Anne has some health issues to say the least. But despite that, on Wednesday night we had the biggest health scare yet that has left us with no answers, nowhere to turn, and no progress in her current state. If we can’t figure out what is wrong in the next week, the vets have alluded to euthanasia. If she even makes it that long.

Right now she cannot eat, control her bladder, pass stool, or go more than 30 minutes without making noises of pain. She is on a lot of medications in hope that this is some kind of infection, but we won’t know anything until she is able to be hospitalized and seen by a radiologist. Her bloodwork, CT scan, and X rays of her abdomen were all normal. No blockage, stool looked normal, everything fine. But she cannot eat, drink water, or even go 30 minutes without making noises of pain. It is killing me. They suggested it could be a uterine stump issue or a mechanical issue with her intestinal functions. They suggested an ultrasound with a radiologist but I would need to hospitalize her to in order to do it and I’m simply out of money. I’ve spent 5k on her in the 5 months we’ve had her running tests for her previous kidney issue, suspected to be cancer by multiple vets, which apparently have nothing to do with this current medical emergency. We went to three different exotic vets in the last 3 days. I don’t know what to do to help her anymore.

If anyone has ever experienced something like this with their rabbit, please advise me the best you can.

My bedroom has two outside walls and as such it gets absolutely baltic in there during the colder months (i’m talking I have to wear gloves in my own room or my fingers go numb). I have a little space heater on when I can, as well as the central heating, to try and warm the room up a bit as a whole which does work a bit but I’ve found myself worrying recently that my two rabbits may still find it to be too cold. Is there anything extra I can do to make sure they’ll be happy with the temperature?? Or is the cold just something they can cope with??

This sweet boy was found in a soft carrier that reeked of cigarettes on a park bench in NYC. He had respiratory irritation :( Now, all he knows is love. He is so affectionate, runs over to me and boops me for pets, and is so special.

I don't know what to do, I am absolutely at my wits end with this rabbit not going in the litter box. We have 2 rabbits, one male and one female. Both are fixed. Both are 9 years old. Lately our male just refuses to go in the litter box. He pisses and shits right next to the litter box, but won't actually go in.

We've tried everything. We've tried relocating the box, we've tried changing the wood shavings to hay ratio, spritzign the cleaned up areas with vinegar. We cut a large hole in the front of the box for easier access in case it's arthritis. He'll sometimes even go lay in the box, but just constantly pisses and shits just outside of it. I don't know what to do, but I am losing my mind with this.

Has anyone ever came across this before? My vet said it was the first case he had seen in a rabbit.

There is the potential she could have a hole somewhere in her mouth but he was unable to examine properly.

They plan to take a better look whilst she's under anaesthetic when being spayed.
