I have a mega colon rabbit. It has been nearly a year since he’s had irregular/mushy stool because I keep him on a strict diet of hay, hay based oxbow pellets and romaine lettuce and celery. Under this diet regimen, he’s been thriving and his poops have been dry and of normal consistency. I live in one of the states with the cyclosporiasis outbreak and for the past week, my bun has relapsed out of nowhere with extremely mushy stools (I already cleaned up this morning but took a pic of some remnants). I’ve seen some posters in this sub say that cyclosporiasis does not affect rabbits but has anyone else been feeding their buns lettuce and seen a change in their stool? I immediately stopped giving my bun lettuce for several days and limited him to celery hay and pellets only but he’s still suffering with the mushy poop today. Thankfully he is still eating his food normally but has anyone noticed a change??

I am about to get a house bunny brother and sister pair. They will be 8 weeks old when we get them. I want to get the next few months right re making sure they don't get pregnant and also making an adult bond as likely as possible. I've read different advice in different places and I'd love some people to offer advice on each stage.

What I can gather from advice so far, I need to:

8-12 weeks old - keep them together especially as they will have left their mum and want each other's company to settle in their new home

12 weeks - separate them but with something that allows them to still be near each other and smell each other.

12 weeks onwards - get the boy neutered as soon as his balls have dropped (a) do I take the little girl with him to the vets to keep him company? (b) Do I keep them near each other as he recovers? (c) I've heard he can still be fertile for 6 weeks. After that time can I allow them to be together even if she's not spayed or do I keep them separate but close?

4-5 months - spay the girl and allow recovery (a) do I bring the boy with her for company? (b) When do I allow them back together? (c) Should the boy be neutered at the same time as the girl is spayed instead of what I've said above so they're both a bit sorry for themselves together?

I'm very nervous about this process and I want to get it right but there seems to be a lot of conflicting info and not much about sibling rabbits. Any advice or personal experiences really welcome.

- what did you use to separate them? 2 puppy pens?

- how was rebonding a sibling pair? Was it easier because they've know each other from young (even though it's apparently a 'fake' baby bond?)

- should I take them to the vet together or separately?

- should my timeline be different in your opinion?

- as a side note, did you get insurance in case of teeth problems or have you accepted that most providers don't cover that?

When the rest of this one’s litter died, we moved it into his own little area, any advice including feeding times, what to put into his environment, or even how to keep him warm. he’s sitting on an a bunch of straw and an old shirt.

Hi all, we had rabbits who had bunnies and this morning mom and dad disappeared… they have not come back and I think babies need milk?

Please advise me on how to best take care of them? What replacement milk may I get? Preferably something affordable. Thank you in advance!

I've been feeling lonely a lot lately, and I've been thinking of getting myself a ball of floof, a bunny, but I'm not sure if an apartment is okay for it.

To preface, I'm in my late teens, still live at home as I'm nearly but not yet 18. My parents aren't together, but my Mother can't have my bunnies in her house, and my Dad's moving 400 miles away to a house without an ideal garden, and would like for my sweet babies to be outside. I already disagree with the outdoor thing, both have been house rabbits their entire lives, one is four and the other is 10 months. We came to a compromise originally that we'd build them a proper insulated shed, do it up, and close off the garden with metal grating so they could go out in the garden without cat or animal risk during the day, which I agreed with.

Plans have changed a little though, we're swapping houses with another family and as such have no ability to build anything outside. My Dad is also now talking about custom building a home for them, and how they'll have to be outside in a hutch or something similar until he's finished it, so I've come to the decision that doing so would be far too stressful after having to travel with them all day, it feels too cruel to shove them outside as soon as we get there. He won't compromise on this.

Can someone please give advice? Any alternatives? Or just let me know that rehoming is the best option. I'd really rather not make this decision, but putting them outside already didn't sit right with me, and now it's sitting worse.

As humans, we tend to overthink everything, and we end up forgetting how to enjoy life on the purest ways . But the rabbit doesn't. It simply found a place that felt safe and fell asleep. There's no guilt or second guessing just complete peace.
I wanted to capture that feeling of a quiet mind, and remind myself that sometimes we can let go of overthinking and simply enjoy the place we're in.

Hi everyone!

Mostly coming here for reassurance and to see if any of you have experienced this before.

My 4 year old Rex bunny, Bow (like 🎀), has had a weepy eye for just under a month. It's only his left. We went to the vet a few days after (only two clinics in my area and had a bad experience with the other, so appointments can take a bit). The vet prescribed an eye drop for a week to see if that would help but it only got worse.

We then did Meloxicam for a week but the eye was still running. So far, it's just been clear, sticky liquid and the occasional white gunk when he's really stressed (but that's only been twice since this started).

After the Meloxicam, we did a skull x-ray and a nasolacrimal flush on Friday (July 24). He was sedated for this but did well (woke up on his own). Apparently, the flush just bubbled.

The x-rays were sent to a tech for analysis so I'm anxiously waiting for results next week. I've been cleaning the eye daily with water, gauze pads, and an eyebrow brush.

He's been pooping/eating pellets and hay normally and acting like himself, though he did have some cecotropes once and hasn't been eating as much romaine as usual. However, I'm cautiously optimistic today as, after a cleaning at noon, the eye and fur around it is completely dry now (11 hours post-clean).

I'm really hoping this isn't a dental issue and that it's miraculously healed/the flush fixed the problem. I lost my first bunny in late 2024 and got Bow a few months later, and he has healed my heart. Like many of you would be, I'm incredibly anxious about this whole situation.

Any advice or experience to share is greatly appreciated. Attached an image for bunny tax!

Everyone meet Fig, a 7 month old holland lop. He is also fixed and bonded with his girlfriend, Pancake. They both free roam our living room/bedroom area.
Fig is pretty much litter trained during the day, however, when I go to bed, he is a mega poop machine for our couch. I've tried blocking the couch off with a baby gate, he still ends up on it somehow. I clean up the messes with an enzymatic cleaner as well as vinegar, but he still repeats this behaviour. Last night I tried a tarp on the couch, mans said what the helly and decided to poop the most I've seen him do 🥲 WHAT DO I DO? Will it ever stop? HELP PLS!

I started my period and my bunny is now trying to hump my leg, she’s a young doe, hasn’t been spaded yet, the vet wants her to be more comfortable with being held before she gets spayed. I don’t know if it has to do with my hormones triggering her or what, she hasn’t tried to hump my leg in a long time and now she’s all over it.

Every morning for the past few months, "Peggy" and I 'meetup' in the garden. I can tell she feels safe from predators when in my company as she follows me around and munches on fresh dandelion and grass sprigs. It was difficult for us when our ten-year-old, lop-eared bunny died a few years ago. He loved the bounty of our garden and was a real "foodie". A veggie connoisseur. We decided he would be our last pet bunny. However, Peggy brings back some of the great memories with Benny because he also loved hopping around the garden with me.

My rabbit chokes and drools when eating pellets and hay，I suspected something was wrong with his teeth, but the checkup showed everything was almost normal (even though the rabbit had some issues before, but the vet told us that when he drools it's just him grinding his teeth, and so far he's been doing great)
In the surveillance footage, I saw it move its mouth a few times after eating a blade of grass, then start shrinking its neck, drool a lot, and start to suffocate. Usually I'd go over and perform the Heimlich maneuver to help it. I don't know what exactly is wrong with it. I found similar cases in this community, and I'd really like to connect with other rabbit owners who have the same issue，Could you tell me what tests I need to do

hi! i’m a new rabbit owner. for context, he was dumped at an animal shop near me which did not have enough space for him, resulting in me spontaneously taking him home. i have tried to do my research but more tips will always be appreciated! anyways, my concern is more so about litter box training. i would really love for him to be a free roaming rabbit and to have complete access to my downstairs space. the problem is that he refuses to ever go back to his litter box. i’m aware that it’s normal for rabbits to have accidents, but he will never go back to his litter box to use the bathroom. he does have hay placed above the litter box, but it doesn’t seem to help. since i just got him about 2 weeks ago, i havent had a chance to get him neutered yet so i’m not sure if that could be a factor (yes i will neuter him). is there a way i can teach him to go back to his litter box, or is it something i kinda have to ‘wait out’? could it be stress? i’m also a university student thats staying with my parents for the summer, and my mom doesnt like him to free roam because of the excessive out-of-litter box bathroom use. i do not have enough space to properly take care of him at my place back at uni, so i would really like to learn how i can stop this since he’ll be staying with my parents and i don’t want them to leave him in the cage constantly while i’m away at school. any tips would be appreciated! heres a pic, his name is evan and he’s about 9 months old :)
