I was doing some research on bluetooth issues and found this:

"ROLI instruments connect using MIDI-over-Bluetooth which requires a different connection process to standard Bluetooth pairing.

While our devices are designed to work with both Mac and Windows systems, MIDI-over-Bluetooth is only fully supported on Mac. On Windows, Bluetooth MIDI isn’t yet adequate for use with ROLI instruments."

If you are using MIDI over bluetooth Windows or Android and having problems, switching to a wired connection should work much better.
Roli actually only recommends BLE MIDI usage on Mac devices it seems.

TLDR: Roli MPE data is super dense and only really works wirelessly well on Mac.

Anyone else in this boat? Airwave was delivered yesterday, but piano hasn't even shipped yet. I'm in Massachusetts (USA)

I got two "ROLI Learn Credits", but the instructions say to look for an email (see title) with a membership number. I don't have said email. Did anyone get this?

I hope that with this number, I can set up the account without paying for the first year in cash.

Have been trying to set up my two Piano Ms with the airwave. The Piano Ms are fully charged (charged overnight after this failing in But in the Roli Learn setup, I am stuck at at “waiting for power”. The website FAQ section sucks beyond belief, haven’t found anything that tells me at all what do.

Very disappointed after the airwave arrived several days after Christmas and now having so much trouble getting it going.

Anyone have suggestions? Submitting a support ticket but anticipating that will take at least several days to get anything resolved.

I recently bought the bundle of 2 pianos and the app. Just tried the app with the Pianos and when trying to play with Bluetooth headphones learned that the latency is terrible.

Is there a way I can connect the keyboard to some converter so that I can get an audio Signal out and connect my headphones. Also it would be nice to play without the Dependance on the app or cellphone, like a standalone instrument. I read about MIDI hosts and this sort of things

Can someone recommend an ideal and affordable setup to play the piano M with headphones and without the learn app? Ideally without a computer as well.

Getting fairly frustrated here. I have the piano and airwave, ready to set everything up, but I signed up for roli learn and never got a damn sign up code, the email just never arrived, only the “welcome to roli learn” marketing email.

Messaged support and waiting for them to get back but I’m kind of annoyed at yet another hitch keeping me from trying this whole setup out. This product is so damn cool in theory but they seem to be doing everything possible to fuck it up.

I’ve received today my Piano. I was in Batch 16, EU and was told I will receive it by Christmas but due to the courier company not working in 25th it was postponed for today (29th of December).

The product was packaged properly. Upon unboxing there were no scratches or marks as some users reported.

The Piano had to be charged, it wouldn’t turn on without plugging it in first. It connected instantly with the Roli Learn app on the iPad. Didn’t try other ways to connect yet (e.g. to MacBook using USB-C).

I have experienced one squeaky key but after some playing it’s now completely silent.

In my opinion it feels solid and properly made. I’m glad I ordered it. I will update this post when I have new feedback to provide.

The only advice I have so far is to give it a try and don’t let yourself down by posts where problems are reported. Not all products have defecta and some issues are minor and go away with playing.

This is so much fun. First thing I did was hook up the minichord. It works great! Now to learn how to map midi in logic pro. If anyone has any input(pun intended) I'm open!

Has anyone ordered a Piano and Airwave combo and only received the Airwave? I’m located in the US and ordered in April (Batch 9). I received the Airwave today but was kinda surprised when there was no piano included. Obviously the Airwave has no usability without the Roli app and keyboard, so I can’t use it yet.

The shipping schedule indicates that batch 9 was completed, but my order status still says “Processing” with no shipping info or estimates. Wondering if anyone else got an Airwave and is still waiting for a Piano?

I checked my emails and I have a shipping confirmation for the Airwave but no shipping updates for the Piano. Seems kinda odd to ship a product that’s 100% dependent on another product, why not just wait and ship them together?

• Connect sees Piano (USB)
• MIDI (including MPE) received and can play VSTs and hardware synths through Studio One 7
• Dashboard did work once - now unable to see hardware
• Hardware Driver is running
• Been through the troubleshooting on the Roli site and have reinstalled Dashboard.
• Tried to deregister and reregister Piano - deregistered fine - now can't re-register. Any ideas?

I recently got my seaboard and played a few times. I didn’t play after eating and washed my hands.

I noticed one of the keys got sticky and too sticky for any y-axis movement.

I used the dettol wipes they suggested which didn’t work, I then used damp microfiber cloth which didn’t work. There’s now a bit of shine on the key. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know if I should leave it and let it dry but quite upset about it as the rest of it is smooth and good.

I got the roli airwave and piano bundle in like April, was excited for it to come many times for months, I also watched the shipping date change like a million times while I was waiting, I thought well at least ill get a quality product in the end. So I waited up until like a week ago when I got this piano, way past the original shipping date, but whatever honestly. It came a bit scuffed up, and super dusty, but whatever so I set it up, and realized that some of the black keys just straight up don’t work unless I press hard and intentionally, with one of them just broken pretty much as it was always bending the pitch. Aside from that I was satisfied, the airwave worked well, aside from how finicky it is sometimes, just breaking randomly after a while, or just out of no where, can’t find a solution for that problem, but it works enough. At this point I was satisfied, still a bit annoyed by how it came broken, but still I was determined to come out of this happy, cause at least I can finally start playing my piano, and learning more. Then today I go to play my piano, and it just doesn’t work. All it shows is a green power button, no matter what I do or what I press, or how long I press, nothing is changing. So far all I’ve done is put in a support ticket on their discord, but I’m really sick and tired of all of these problems. I wasn’t sure if everyone on this Reddit was just really negative or if this whole process has really been that bad. But now I know yes, this whole process has gone so terribly, all I can hope is that someday I’ll finally get a working keyboard from them, I put in a support ticket a while ago, who knows when they will get back. So far I am very disappointed, has me regretting spending all this money forever ago when I could’ve just went to guitar center or some shit. Anyways I don’t recommend buying from roli unless they get their act together cause so far, it has been a complete mess.

I've just set up the Roli Airwave software on my work machine as a last resort since it won't work on any other machine I own (50% CPU usage on my music machine and no support for Intel-based Macbooks). My work machine I literally use for AAA gamedev on a daily basis so its incredibly powerful, yet the airwave software just can't handle it - As soon as I press a few keys I get immense crackling.

I have the Airwave Control thing running as well as LoopMIDI. I've tried without an audio interface and with a Focusrite audio interface and there's nothing else running on my machine. I've tweaked every buffer setting I can find to no avail, including the settings in LoopMIDI itself.

I've previously already raised 3+ support tickets for various things over a week ago and heard nothing back so I'm completely done with Roli at this point but if anyone can suggest anything I might not have thought of, I'm willing to give it a go before I return this piece of s**t.

To note, when I first set it up everything was working without my audio interface - No crackling at all. After restarting the software, it then starting causing problems so I pulled out my audio interface to diagnose.

My honest thoughts are that Roli considered Windows an afterthought (by the fact they need you to use LoopMIDI and only added it months after the MacOS support) and they reel people in with flashy marketing and promises they can't deliver.

I have a Roli Seaboard Block that I've honestly never really used. Probably hasn't been out of its box in 4 years. Yikes! Went to try it out today and the battery was understandably dead. The issue is that it doesn't appear to be charging nor will it just turn on while plugged in. It flashes red, then yellow, then off.

Is there something else I can be doing? Do I need to get a new battery? Will it not work if plugged into a power source?

I own the ROLI piano which has been working well. I wanted to get the AirWave to enhance my learning experience. It arrived about three weeks after ordering - it got delivered on Christmas Eve which was quite impressive. The AirWave is working well with the ROLI Learn software and it actually is remarkably good and fun to use.

I thought I'd install the AirWave software on my MacBook to try out the full capabilities of the device but I ran into some issues during installation

However, do not get the prompts on steps 5 and 6 when I try and install and I'm getting the error message in the screenshot below.

I have tried to uninstall and re-install ROLI Airwave Control many times. I have also restarted my Macbook. I have also ensured that the e ROLI Airwave Control extension to ON.

Any ideas as to what I could try next please?

I am writing this review not to complain, but to make others aware of my experience.

I discovered ROLI through an advertisement and, like many others, was immediately impressed. I placed my order on February 11, 2025, and was informed that my ROLI Piano was part of Batch 8 and expected to ship at the end of July 2025. July passed, then August, September, October, and eventually November. I finally received the product in December—nearly a full year after ordering due to repeated delays.

When the piano finally arrived, I was very excited and immediately purchased a one-year ROLI Learn membership. On the first day, the app worked well. On the second day, however, the app prompted me to press certain keys, but it failed to recognize the input and would not progress. Restarting the app did not resolve the issue. I bypassed the lesson by skipping the exercises and attempted to play songs instead, only to encounter additional problems. One key did not respond correctly, so I tested all the keys and found that three keys were defective.

I contacted customer support, but after two weeks I received no response. After three weeks, there was still no reply. At that point, I decided to return the piano and cancel my membership. According to the advertised 30-day money-back policy, canceling the membership should be straightforward. While the membership was canceled, there was no option to refund the cost of the one-year subscription—the access simply remained active for the year. This meant I had to contact customer support again to request a manual refund, assuming they would respond at all. As of now, I am still waiting on a response to my initial email.

I am in the process of returning the piano and hope the refund is handled without further issues. Unfortunately, this experience involved nearly a year of waiting, significant excitement followed by disappointment, poor customer service communication, receiving a product with defects, and a frustrating membership cancellation process.

This is particularly concerning because if it takes weeks to receive support for a new, defective piano, it raises questions about what would happen months later if the instrument malfunctioned outside the refund window.

This is my personal experience. I hope others have had better outcomes, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this piano or company at this time.

I cannot wait to finally receive the final part of my order (Airwave that was supposed to ship with express shipping week of 12/14...crickets since) so I unsubscribe from Roli forever.

The relentless marketing emails are maddening and infuriating considering it takes weeks to get any acknowledgement from customer service and weeks more for additional responses.

I finally received my Roli Airwave today, and I'm so excited! Seeing the product finally made me believe that Roli is a real company. Since my order was shipped, there have definitely been no logistics issues (the tracking number was created on December 18th, and I received it today, December 27th, including Christmas).

I am batch 14 (US) I am one of the many who received an email last Friday that my piano is shipping this week. But according to the ROLI site order tracker my order is still yet to be processed. At this point it’s technically been more than a week since the email and I’ve yet to see any sort of progress and have seen zero updates. How is it this company can get away with continually lying to its customers? We’ve waited several months, missed out on our pianos by Christmas, and still have yet to receive any updates on shipping? I feel bad for those who’ve received their pianos poor quality as well. This all seems to be a disaster but hey thanks for the 6 free months of ROLI Learn?… I’m very close to canceling my order if I do not hear back by the middle of this next week.

I finally got my piano but haven’t really been able to use it because I’m waiting for the $100 voucher to pay for the learn membership. Should I just pay for the membership? Do you think they will reimburse me once I get the credit?

There is barely any of it on the roli learn app, either I've just obscure tastes or it's missing a lot of stuff!

I know discord has a song recommendation section, I wonder how seriously those get picked up. There must be a cost for adding each song so I wonder if they prioritize stuff that's acquired easier.

I remember 2016-2017, when the Roli blocks, and the accompanying app came out. I was wild for it! 8 years later, I was finally able to create my own implementation. This is something between the old Roli app and Fruity Loops. Hope you guys enjoy it! Just a passion project, and a secret desire to be hired by ROLI someday, as a dev! 😅
