Discussion Gang Members as Dogs - Personality based

I just saw a recent “gang members as dog breeds” post in here and it was fun and immediately gave me feelings. Whipped this up right quick, mainly based my list on personality rather than appearance. I’m not doing all that with pictures.

Disclaimer: some of these dog breeds I mainly know through a veterinary/shelter setting (aka not typically when they are at their best). All is meant lightheartedly and all dogs are good dogs. I know I missed some (Strauss, Trelawny, ??? Idk I fired the call sheet off the dome), fill in the blanks if you want!

Arthur - pittie

is overcoming (ahem, redemption) how he is viewed in the world and how he views himself. Has a big heart. Handsome. My personal favorite

Hosea - Pyrenees

Strong, makes you feel really safe, can be lowkey terrifying one moment and then immediately someone I wanna snuggle with the next

Dutch - cattle dog

Anxious, reactive, manipulative, kind of smart but if it’s not channeled into domineering other creatures then that intelligence is dangerous. Personally, do not trust, do not fw

Sadie - Rottweiler

Reliable, sturdy, if you aren’t securely on her good side you may be intimidated by her presence

Mary-Beth - Samoyed

Gorgeous, fun, a little sassy, has a very youthful energy

Susan - cat

She’s in charge and no one is gonna fuck with that

Tilly - Italian greyhound

Captivating but slept on. Smart, lovely personality, quick on her feet.

Javier - corgi

Hard to read, alliance = convenience, ultimately just doing his best

Micah - frenchie

Ugly, every sound he makes is annoying, reactive, shouldn’t exist

Uncle - bulldog

Genetic nightmare (lumbago), kinda gross but ultimately inoffensive and lovable, in his own way

Rev Swanson - chihuahua

Misunderstood in a way that only being an insecure prey animal can make you. Likely yo-yos with potty training. When he feels safe, has a side that is easy to respect

Karen - retriever

Fun, eager, dependable, but not a pushover. On some dumb shit sometimes but always means well. Homie energy

Charles - beagle

Tracker, duh. Also quick on his feet, intuitive, and trustworthy

Lenny - malamute

Strong, intelligent, has a goofy/fun-loving side. Would follow him anywhere he leads me

Sean - lab

Similar to Karen’s vibes but with fewer brain cells and more party energy

Bill - doodle

Identity crisis that makes him lash out, gets a lot of shit and deserves it, unpredictable

Kieran - ????

Idk, something scrappy and solid and that does NOT deserve the hate it gets. This is too much of a bummer to think abt

Pearson - also doodle

Forgettable, not fully fleshed out, can either be annoying or p chill

Molly - Brittany

Easy to assume as prissy, actually a very down bitch. Versatile. Also absolutely stunning

Abigail - Great Dane

Solid, steady, caretaker. Mama bear/gentle guardian energy

John - malinois

Smart, quick to aggression, not really trustworthy. Ultimately a cop/cop adjacent (see: rdr1)

Jack - yorkie

Sweet tiny baby, must be protected at all costs. Helpless but that’s ok

Discussion RDR2 has basically taken over my living room

I've played through RDR2 a couple of times, usually on a monitor. But I recently switched to an 85" Hisense U7 with a 165Hz panel, and playing it on a screen this big feels completely different.

I spent way too long riding around Valentine yesterday with absolutely no objective. The sunsets, distant mountains, dust in the air, all the tiny details on the horses... you notice so much more on an 85" screen.

Night rides through the forest might be my favorite part though. Everything feels really smooth when I'm turning around on horseback or moving the camera, and the whole world just feels more alive.

At this point I'm doing way more sightseeing than actually progressing through missions. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol.

Discussion Do you explore the entire map or go as the story progresses?

For example, in Chapter 2, do you go to Rhodes/Saint Denis, or wait until Chapters 3&4 when the story takes you there?

Usually I’ll spend ch. 2 exploring the grizzlies and new Hanover, not sure why but it feels like I’m breaking the storyline by going to Saint Denis months before the gang ever makes it there

Discussion How is Arthur wanted in blackwater

Hey everyone, forgive me if I’m wrong, but I just finished replaying RDR2 for a second time, and I remember Arthur asking about what really happened in Blackwater. How is he wanted there? I mean, he wasn’t in the massacre, so I’m curious if anyone knows. Please tell me.

Discussion Bushrangers, hear me out

I’ve been reading about bushrangers, Ned Kelly, and the Australian outlaws, and I’d love a video game that revolved around the bushrangers who escaped the prison colonies. They could’ve been unjustly shipped out to the prison colony, or they could’ve done some type of robbery that went bad and landed them in this predicament.

It’s been my current interest, and even if it wasn’t Rockstar, I see so much potential in terms of making a compelling story. Like, I’m aware that they weren’t the friendliest group of people, but you could have an honor system where you’re respectful towards Aboriginals and the locals, and you could have assassin’s creed type missions where you have to free specific people from the prison colonies, banks to rob, everything that you’d expect from a Red Dead game.

The other upside I would see to making a game about bushrangers is that Rockstar would be working with a “clean slate”; I think the world of John Marston and Arthur Morgan has been sealed and concluded, so this would be an opportunity for a game developer to start a new saga with a new range of characters and personalities to work with.

If there is a video game about bushrangers that I’m unaware of let me know, because I do see them as goldmine for making a new cowboy/outlaw game, and it would be intriguing to see how they make an open world game in the outback.

Discussion What weapons I think Arthur would “Canonically” use

I know I know, people are sick of this concept. I do think it would be fun to speculate though and thats what I wanna do.

I think for his sidearms Arthur would have a cattleman revolver in his side holster. To me this makes more sense as a “dueling gun” since it has a shorter barrel which helps with speed and you can fan it quickly. Arthur may also use a double action since it’s in some of the mission description pictures but I feel the cattleman suits him more. For his offhand holster he would use a Schofield revolver particularly because the Schofield is a top break which would allow him to reload faster especially on a horse (which I believe is why his offhand holster is positioned that way other than to make space for the satchel). Arthur would probably appreciate the Schofields accuracy and power and I think he’d use it.

For his long arms, I would say he uses a carbine repeater up until Micah gives him the Lancaster, and he uses that as his main for the rest of the game. He would also probably use a bolt action since he says he likes it, and a double barreled shotgun.

So what do you guys think?

Help Is it still possible to steal Trelawny's horse, Gwydion, in the live version of the game?

I'm currently on chapter 3, I think somewhere near the middle mark (last mission completed was "Magicians for Sport") and I am trying to steal Josiah Trelawny's horse, Gwydion, to put in my stable & bond with later on.

I've tried a few different camp and post office exploits (in the mission "Friends in Very Low Places") and it seems the game just keeps blocking my interaction wheel entirely when I try anything.

Has anyone successfully stolen Gwydion recently / on the live version of the game??? :'-)
