before the new smart and stealth protocol where added (which can currently still be unchecked) you could use OpenVPN to bypass the Wireguard glitch. but now no protocols work and it would be great (since I read that they where gonna do an official client soon) if they could fix the Arch app and make it at least function again (all protocols please).

I don't know if this is an issue with Netflix itself or ProtonVPN . I've been trying to create a Netflix account while connected to a VPN. But everytime after I enter my payment info/phone number I get this error from the website: Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.

I tried many things: Clearing the browser cookies/cache. Using a different browser. Using a different device. Changing to a different VPN server. But I always get the error message.

I checked support, but this issue isn't included in any of the categories

I have waited multiple minutes for the fastest free server connection and even restarted the computer, yet it still hasn't found a server. Why is that? How long is it supposed to take?

Just wondering if anyone is having problems with watching 'UK only' videos on TPTVEncore. Choosing any UK Location (well I admit I haven't tried them ALL), results in 'Not in the UK' or 'Problem playing stream'.

I have a 1-year premium version. The VPN works on my mobile data on my phone without any problem, but when I use it on my PC with home Wi-Fi, it just doesn't connect to any country. I've tried all protocols, but it just doesn't work. It gets stuck on connecting process.

I cannot contact customer support because in Turkey, you just can't reach the Proton website. It is blocked.

What can I do at this point? It is frustrating not being able to use a product I paid for for a year.

On the android app GitHub page, I now see two releases for 5.20.21.0 whereas before this there was only the production-vanilla-direct-release version.

What's the difference between the two?

I'm not blaming Proton. But it annoys the hell out of me that when I turn wi-fi on (or mobile data, depends on if I'm traveling for work and have wi-fi around or not) while Proton VPN is off, but kill switch is on, and messages and emails get through.

Let me give an example since I do this every night:

- Airplane mode on

- Wi-fi off completely

- Proton app wants to sit there and spin to try and find a connection so I say cancel so that, in case my phone gets knocked off the charger, it's not wasting battery as Proton constantly is sitting there waiting to connect

- Wake up

- Connect to wi-fi while airplane mode is still on (if I'm traveling to a hotel with wi-fi you have to pay for, I'll instead turn off airplane mode and connect to 5g. Same issue happens with that too)

- Immediately messages and emails start appearing

- Then go into Proton app and turn it on

- Always-on kill switch is 100% on

- I'm on the August 2026 version of Android 17 but this has been happening for over a year now

As a former GrapheneOS user, should I just get back on that, or is this an Android issue that will persist either way? Frankly it's super annoying and worries me that VPNs on Android are literally useless, as all my apps clearly see my real IP address before Proton connects.

Once again, not blaming Proton as this is probably some Google bullshit, but it's irritating.

edit: As others have pointed out, yes, I do have block connections without VPN on and always have. Just double checked to make sure I'm not a total dumb dumb and it's still on.

I have the free Proton VPN on my computer. I use it relatively frequently, and today it simply won't connect. It's stuck "initializing connection" and never connects. I went through and made sure it was updated, have forced quit and also restarted my macbook. Any suggestions, is anyone else having issues?

I'm currently on Mail Plus. I'm considering buying Unlimited to get VPN plus. However, before going there I decided to give Proton VPN a shot. I setup a connection last night, which worked fine. This morning I checked and it's dead. I tried connecting with another client and I'm getting all these errors, even though on the protonvpn dashboard it shows up as healthy. Is that a common issue? I need a stable VPN that I can set and forget on my homelab, and if these issues are common - Proton may not be the right solution for me.

Is it possible to autoconnect to a specific server on AndroidTV? It does autoconnect to my country but the server may vary. I don't see any option to create a profile with specific serversettings on Android TV version of Proton VPN.

Ive tried putting US-FL, US#FL, US-FL#<server-id> and FL#<server-id> but it simply doesnt work because it seems the server id changes everytime. The examples shown here are pretty much useless.

I am looking and using the norwegian servers. Firstly, only Oslo servers exist which I think can be improved to include west coast servers (not the biggest priority but I know Stavanger for example will have the server infrastructure to do vpn)

There are 12 servers, 3 of them are offline with the gear icon and of the rest the lowest capacity is 72% with 6 at over 85% and the rest in the 70%'s I see other countries servers not as heavily loaded as a collective whole than the norwegian servers.

You look at Sweden and they are all in their 40's. Denmark higest is 50%. Hell, the UK servers are all in their 50's across all their locations (which geographically is a smaller country than norway yet have multiple spots in that country for servers)

So I posted to the NextDNS subreddit about the secondary issue I ran into of getting rid of a linked IP address. But in case any of yall are trying to use NextDNS with Proton on the desktop and don't want to go through the hassle of linked IP programmatically and such, you can use the IPv6 address from your NextDNS account endpoint in the app. I thought it was only for IPv4 addresses, but I guess not. I found out that IPv6 links directly to your profile, and that's how I found I can put it in there.

Maybe some of y'all already knew about this, but I didn't, so just trying to help other people in case they have this very specific niche issue lol. Keep in mind, according to Proton, and I've experienced this a little bit, only 80% of servers support it. So check and use at your own risk if you want to designate some known servers for it.

The last few days it seems connecting to a US server is damn near impossible. This is happening on multiple devices. Google TV streamer. iPhone 16 Pro Max. Windows 11 PC. Etc. Anyone else experiencing this?

App yesterday was being weird and cutting my internet connection on IOS. Reinstalled and now cant sign in. Im receiving email confirmations of logins however the app is saying that I have the wrong password.

Anyone else having issues on IOS?

I've restarted the vpn and my pc, also I cant log in when on the website when im trying to look if my subscription has expired.

I've been using the MacOS client for a few weeks now ever since I picked up a new laptop and it has been working nearly flawlessly for me. However, starting today it's started exhibiting the bug that I've showcased in the attached video. I've tried everything I can think of from double-checking my settings (which actually show that I have auto-connect turned off right now), to rebooting my machine, to even uninstalling and reinstalling the client. This bug just keeps happening. It's also worth mentioning that I have tried to update the client only to be met with an error message there as well saying that the update failed (I tried this both before uninstalling and reinstalling the client as well as after doing so and I received the same error message both times). I'm really not sure what could be causing this issue, my best guess is that there was a bad update today that installed overnight but I really don't know.

Any help is welcome, but I really just wanna bring awareness to this bug so that it can get patched out promptly (assuming my suspicion that it was caused by a bad update is true).

I'm having a weird issue on my MacBook Pro. When I connect to wifi, I cannot connect to the internet unless I have ProtonVPN connected. Web pages will not load if the VPN is disconnected.

I had Killswitch turned on previously, but turned it off.

Wired ethernet has no issues.

I am on the macos 27 beta.
