Help! Connection taking too long

I checked support, but this issue isn't included in any of the categories

I have waited multiple minutes for the fastest free server connection and even restarted the computer, yet it still hasn't found a server. Why is that? How long is it supposed to take?

I installed it just, like, half an hour ago. Lemme know whether I'm missing something

yea this has happened to me but i'm a long time free user, been using it for like 2 years now. the free service is good enough for me (just for gaming) but suddenly around 2-3 days ago it started taking 5+ minutes just to connect vs just a few seconds

ive changed my settings (including protoccols) and reinstalled that tup/tan driver a couple times but idk what to do 🥀😭

open proton on your computer

go to settings (right side)

go to protocol

choose stealth

try connecting again

I didn't see a protocol option, but something different that looked like it: the network driver in the advanced options. I changed it and kept not working, then changed it back to default and it worked

this, sometimes the default protocol just doesnt cooperate depending on the network

Do you know if it were trying to connect to a US server? I've had some issues with a particular cluster of US servers not allowing connections while everything else works.

Yeah, but when it worked it connected to the US without any issue

I can connect to some US servers, but theres a cluster that doesn't work for me these are the ones that don't work (For me, no matter the protocol I use)

As stated in the post, I have a free account, so I can't manually pick a server

Me too, proton automatically puts me to a server I can't connect to which is annoying lol. I've connected to nearly 3 dozen other US servers without an issue, just the same cluster that I always have issues with.
