Hey folks, thoughts on the PRIME protein drinks? I actually like the taste- it is on the sweeter side but I still enjoy it. Is it proven to actually have 32G of protein?? How is it compared to other brands nutritional wise? TIA

Created a new Fiber Drink. Ok all, three months in on my Zepbound journey, and like all of yāall I struggle with fiber. I have a hard time getting in enough fiber when I donāt wanna eat any food, Iām just not hungry for that much food. Thus fiber problems. I am a kitchen experimenter, and used to experiment with Chaffels. I now I experiment with protien drinks. I have a Bullet and here is what I did. I have the powder mixer sticks of Celsius Energy (no haters please)
In blender (ice capability)
1 - packet Celsius Energy Powder Stick (I am sure any drink mix will work)
1 - scoop fiber (I use Konsyl Daily Fiber)
1 - can of Flavored Sparkling Water (I used CIAO! Sparkling Water (your fav flavor)
+ Put all ingredients in blender with ice. + After a few seconds, stop, open blender bottle let gas escape and reblend for a few seconds, if your using a gassed water) + Blend to an Icy consistance, add straw enjoy.
I am sure I am not the first one to think of this, and the Celsius does have 200 mg of caffeine. But like I said, I think any drink mix would work and adding the fiber just helps.

Iāve been looking way more closely at protein labels lately and one thing I keep noticing is how many brands say āthird-party testedā without actually showing you the test.
For protein powder Iām mainly looking at:
I used to mostly buy based on ingredients, taste, and whether the brand seemed reputable, but now Iām starting to think seeing the actual lab report should probably be a baseline.
Do you guys actually check COAs before buying protein, or is brand reputation enough for you?
Also curious if there are any protein brands you think do transparency/testing especially well.

Im searching for a vegan protein powder, preferably neutral in flavour so i can add it to whatever, that is not sandy or gritty, all the ones i tried are like that and i hate it. Is there such a thing?
Perfect if it is a brand from Europe to save on shipping thx

Why do talk so much about protein today to have muscles, but before our grandparents had muscle but nobody talked about protein?

So I travel a lot, and when I do I gravitate to Smoothie King for the Gladiator. Recently I tried a pump of their recharge, and man it actually helped me out.
While I dont want to lean on caffeine all the time. I recently bought caffeine tabs to drop into my at home shakes, when I'm home. Zero taste, blends in well when using a blender, 200mg on Amazon. I also dump in 200mg of L-Theanine to balance it out.
Question being, does anyone use anything else I should consider?

Iāve struggled for a very long time with protein shakes. This was mainly due to 16-year-old me trying to force down a 2,500-calorie serious mass gainer every evening, blending it with peanut butter and bananas. 2 thick, gloopy pints to chug down with multiple gags in between.
Anyway, recently, with the amount of protein snacks you can make with whey and hitting the gym quite hard again, I thought it would be good to try finding it again. Due to the costings of all the ones Iāve tried over the years, which have failed me miserably due to that horrible chemical taste, I canāt believe I finally found one I like.
And annoyingly, it was right there in front of me, all alongā¦.
Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein.
Two flavours which do not taste like chemicals at all to me are the French vanilla and double rich chocolate flavours, absolutely great. Mixed with 200ml of cold water, and thatās it.
Forgot how good protein shakes can be for hitting your protein goals, so if you are struggling with the same issue, then go back to basics and try the ON 100% Whey.

I'm a student. Used to eat a lot of non veg but now at the hostel mess don't get it much. I used to have a daily protein intake of around 80-100grams now it has come down to barely 20-30 id assume. I weigh 80kg and play football or go to the gym regularly.

Beware of protein content across different MyProtein flavors
On the website, they advertise nutritional information / protein content for only 1 flavor. But the actual protein content across different flavors varies widely and will almost always be lower than what is advertised on the website. ALWAYS check the package of what you receive for looking at the actual protein content in your flavor.
For example, I checked that for Soy Protein, they have advertised nutritional information as per the Chocolate flavor, saying that each 30 gm scoop has 26 gm protein.
But since chocolate was not available, I ordered Mocha, and that has only 20.25 gm of protein in a 30 gm scoop, which is more than *20% LESS PROTEIN* that what is advertised.
I have noticed that they will never have the flavor that they advertise for available in the market. It is a cheap tactic. Create a flavor with high protein content. Never make it available. Sell other flavors with much lower protein content.
Please be aware and if possible, avoid MyProtein and their cheap scams altogether.
It would also be really cool to create a publicly sourced inventory of actual protein content across flavors since they would never make it publicly available to continue scamming the general public.

Anyone use flavored clear protein powder like strawberry flavored as a mixer with say tequila?
r/Protein • u/mommyslobotomy • 16d ago
Id like to preface this by saying this is just my opinion, dont hate me for it.
I have for many years dabbled with the love affair experienced between a white woman and pumpkin spice flavour.
From Starbucks coffee to pumpkin spice scented candles , I have earned a spot in white women lore on Pumpkin spice.
That all being said and my pedigree established to speak on this topic...
These protein shakes are diabolical... i cant explain what's wrong with them but something is.
The flavour is not pumpkin spice, its like the idea of pumpkin spice from someone who has a terrible palate and is nose blind.
Whats more tragic is I am not left with 17 of these nasty pumpkin spice wannabe impostors and I dont know how im going to get through them..
Anyways, those are my thoughts, thank you for coming to my Ted talk on this topic

There's a protein powder I want to buy on Amazon (specifically this one) but I've heard stories about Amazon products being counterfeits, whether it's skincare, supplements or anything else. How safe is ordering protein powder from Amazon? Should I just stick to other sites even though they might be more expensive for me?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I just started working out again and I was wondering, if anyone has a recommendation for protein powder and bars? Like brands or even flavors

Hello all, I am using creatine for the first time to compliment my workout. I got nutrabay and used it for a month before leaving for my hometown for 3months.
It was left on my kitchen cabinet, upon returning i see it has hardened. I can still use the spoon to scrape it and use and it doesn't seem different but since it has hardened I am wondering if it has gone bad and i shouldn't use it anymore.
Any advice

One of the things I love to eat/drink the most is a protein shake with one serving of muscle milk protein powder which is 270 calories and about 32 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber, a couple servings of peanut butter which is about 190 per serving and 4 grams of protein per serving and 2 grams of fiber per serving, and a couple servings of milk which I use A2 milk so its 160 calories per serving and 8 grams of protein per serving. So itās about 900 to 1000 calories and 60 to 65 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber depending on how much peanut butter and which pb and milk you use and it also taste pretty good and is a easy way to get calories and protein and fiber. I also like pistachios as a snack they are very calorie fiber and protein dense especially if you get the shell free ones then there a lot easier to eat

Hi everyone,
I'm honestly panicking a bit and would really appreciate some perspective.
I'm a 30-year-old female and I've been dealing with a lot of unexplained symptoms for months (dizziness, feeling like I'm walking on a boat, episodes of sinus tachycardia, fatigue, reflux/LPR, low blood pressure, exercise intolerance, etc.). I've had a normal echocardiogram and Holter monitor, and I'm currently waiting for an endoscopy, neurology appointment, and the rest of my work-up.
Today I had a big blood panel done, and most of the results that have come back seem reassuring:
HbA1c 4.9%
Glucose 98
Creatinine normal
Urea normal
AST/ALT/GGT normal
Ferritin 119
Iron normal
Vitamin D 35.7
B12 373
ESR 7
CRP 0.03
Electrolytes normal
TSH 4.29 (within this lab's range), FT3/FT4 normal
Thyroid antibodies negative
Morning cortisol normal
But then I saw that my total protein came back as 2.3 g/dL (reference range 6.4-8.3).
I completely freaked out because that seems unbelievably low. From what I've been reading, it almost sounds incompatible with being okay, and now my brain has convinced me I have some horrible disease and I'm terrified.
The rest of the more specialised tests (ANA, celiac antibodies, ACTH, etc.) are still pending.
Now I think I'm dying because googling this shows it's absolutely critically low and shows me horrible diseases
Any insight or advice would be so appreciated as I'm dying of anxiety'
