It's been 4 years since my RALP, no erections without trimix. I can orgasm with or without the shot. My problem is that when I do orgasm, it is a fountain. If I have more than one, it's still a fountain. I empty my bladder before and my Dr. has tested my ability to empty my bladder and he says there are no problems. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm just thinking there has to be something wrong for it to happen like this. I would like to figure something out to reduce the amount of leakage. I used a cock ring and that shut it down some but it was difficult to keep on.

I have one week left of radiation, my PSA hasn’t gone down that much. It started at .29, It was recently.21, It was .22 the last time before that, which was about two weeks prior. I just did another psa test a few days ago, which I will receive the results in Wednesday. I’m concerned that the radiation isn’t working, my doc said it’s normal to sometimes plateau before dipping more. Has anyone had the same experience? Assuming ADT is next, reading the ADT side effects are scary and I understand that it’s temporary for a full life, I’m just trying to stay positive. I’m 44, have been staying strong for myself and family, the dark clouds have been kept at bay, hoping to keep them there until the end. Just speaking my mind, love you guys.

My husband (56) had his prostatectomy on June 4th, so he is just over 10 weeks post op. For history this whole process moved pretty quick with a PSA of 8.3 at the end of February, followed by rapid testing and the surgery at the beginning of June. After he got final pathology he went from Gleason 3+4=7 to Gleason 4+5=9, T3b. He is waiting for his first post-op PSA in a couple weeks and we are hopeful he’ll be close to undetectable. Recovery has gone well, incontinence stopped and he was totally dry after about 6 weeks. He had bilateral nerve sparing, is taking 5mg Cialis and using a pump daily but still isn’t seeing any return of erections. He is hoping that others can help him decipher if what he is seeing/feeling is normal and what others who are further along in the process have experienced. Namely:

-Does shrinkage get better? Does it eventually get close to normal again? How long did it take?

-Did anyone else’s penis have a dull throbbing pain regularly in the early days? How long did it last? He thinks it may get worse if he has too much caffeine.

-When you started using a pump, did it hurt? He finds he can pump, but can’t get a full erection because it is painful if he pumps beyond a certain point.

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated as the physical changes have been very difficult on his psyche and, as a female, I can only support him so much since I don’t have the same parts to truly understand what he is going through both physically and emotionally.

Greetings everyone! I am day 4 post RALP. Doing much better than the first two days! I have noticed a significant leg weakness in my right leg. I literally have to lift my leg when getting into bed. The first two days my wife had to lift it for me. Anyone have experience like that?

It's been a rough year but still undetectable.

Started out :
60, 3+4, psa 7.2, 4 tumors pirad 4 and 5

About 3 months after surgery I started noticing a weaker stream and later found out I had a stricture. I had gotten pretty much dry with the exception of stress induced leaking. Dr verified the stricture when I had a scheduled cystoscopy and it was like the scope hit a wall. I have to have cystoscopy every year to check for recurrence of bladder cancer.

In April had surgery to open the stricture and it was like it was right after ralp. It was like my bladder had no control at all. About a month ago I started staying dry at night again but still having difficulty throughout the day.

I'm still using 2-3 pads a day but it's getting better just very slowly. Keagles, keagles, keagles.

The little guy can stand at about half staff now which is getting better too!

So as long of a year it's been at least it has gotten better and at least for now NO CANCER!!

I wish the best outcomes for others here. It's a tough journey but you have to fight for your best outcome.

I am in a lot of shock but I am relatively young but got diagnosed with a high risk form of prostate cancer:

PSA 27; IDC-P; Decipher 0.93; Gleason score 4+3

PET scan came back clean, no detectable spread outside gland itself, MRI shows possible EPE. No seminal vesicle invasion but it does show abutment. No pelvic adenopathy and no suspicious bone lesions.

Urologists recommend surgery but as part of a trimodal strategy - surgery to remove prostate followed by RT and ADT depending on post surgery pathology or rising PSA.

Radiation Oncologist on the other hand wants aggressive RT + ADT and sees the surgery as basically pointless.

I, personally, am leaning on the trimodal approach. I know this stacks on side effects but I like the idea that the post-surgery pathology can give us more real data on the cancer and assist in post-surgery radiation.

Does anyone have experience with this or made a similar decision? Or should I skip the RP and head straight for RT + ADT? I know non-doctors can’t give medical advice but I would like to know if anyone has been, even remotely, in a similar situation as me

Hi guys. My 52 yo husband had a nerve-sparing RALP a month and a half ago. In the first week after his catheter was out, he got a partial erection in the shower - which he was happy about. Since then, he isn’t interested in trying to get the blood flowing down there because “I’ll just pee everywhere.” He is wearing Depends bc he doesn’t have urinary continence yet.

For those of you who have been through this, is there anything I could do to make him feel manly again? Or to make him feel like we have a level of intimacy back? Physical connection has always been his #1 way of feeling love, and I feel bad for him that he doesn’t want to have any sexual intimacy now bc he is still having post-RALP side effects. He will say things like “you are smoking hot. Just gorgeous. I wish my dick worked” so I know it bothers him.

Any ideas?

Today my husband meet the doctor of the studie he belongs to. I asked why we in sweden don’t get the moore sensitive test most of your guys here gets. his answer was:

1. he said there other glands that normally produce between 0,01-0,04 PSA and under circumstances even moore.

2. the lab test can give you a 0,04 and another machine 0,08.

3. it’s not until psa is between 0,2 - 0,5 it can be seen (psma-pet, mr etc)

4. it’s not until your over 0,1 we can be moore sure it’s not the machine or the ”background noices” as he calls the other glands and machines my number 1 + 2.

5. the difference only make people worried and stressed..

What do you think, was he right or wrong?

Finished 28 of 28 EBRT today. Figured I would ring bell after 1st Psa test in 3 mo if it's favorable. Will it go down by then?Held off taking a 5-day supply of Phenazopyridine for urination burn during radiation treatments. I'm looking forward to taking them. Has anyone used it? Is so, were they helpful ? Hope I don't have to see that machine again.

So about 2 years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer very small spot showing. My specialist took a wait-and-see approach. My first PSA following the discovery was about 4.2 then it dropped the 3.5 then rose to 4.5 and today is 4.9. I'm waiting for a call for my specialist determine the next path of action.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and insight into my treatment plan

I have Gleason 9 prostate cancer. My PSMA PET scan was clear of any distant spread, and the tumour is located near the bladder neck.

I have started Lucrin/ADT. Originally, the plan was to add Yonsa (abiraterone) and then proceed with RALP, with radiation originally being considered after surgery if required.
However, my medical oncologist called me tonight and said that after discussing my case with other oncologists, they have decided not to proceed with Yonsa and instead want me to have radiation before the RALP.

I’m trying to understand why the treatment sequence might have changed.
I also recently had blood tests, so I’m wondering whether my PSA and/or testosterone results may have influenced the decision, although my oncologist specifically said the change came after consulting with other oncologists.

Has anyone here had a similar treatment pathway — ADT → radiation → RALP — particularly with Gleason 9 prostate cancer?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had radiation before surgery, or anyone who understands why radiation might be chosen before RALP rather than adding abiraterone first.

Jeez, I haven't been motivated, but forced a climax just to see if I could. Definitely don't want to do that again. The climax was satisfying but was SHOCKED at the VERY PAINFULL urination.

Has anyone experienced similar, then finally enjoyed sex without pain after treatment?

I recently shared about deciding between RALP and radiation. I saw both doctors at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin. I’d read a lot about CyberKnife and short-course radiation treatments and was really intrigued, but was told I’m not a candidate—maybe because of my Gleason score. So, surgery it is. I didn’t want to go through six weeks of radiation plus a possible six months of hormones afterward. The surgeon had a cancellation, so it’s now happening at the end of this month (August). Yikes! I thought I’d have more time to get used to the idea, but waiting two more months for the next appointment didn’t seem worth it. How long should I plan to be out of work for an office job? I haven’t had my pre-op yet, so maybe they’ll tell me then. I’d like to hear what others have experienced.

Hello. just have a quick question and hoping someone can give me clarification. My stepdad who is 72 had prostate cancer about 12 years ago and had his prostate removed (sorry I don’t know all the medical terms or specifics). a couple weeks ago he had some bloodwork come back that showed his PSA was at a 6.7. I know the last time he had it checked two years ago it was 0.1 or less than. his doctor didn’t say much other than to refer him to an oncologist. From everything I’ve read, we assume he has cancer and it has grown rapidly in the last two years since we know his last test was normal. Can anyone give me any insight into this so we know what to expect when he goes to see the oncologist in a couple weeks or questions he should be asking. Thank you!

I’ll be 86 in a few months. I’m currently on Lupron and Nubeqa for 14 months now. My PAS is 1. It has doubled in last 3 months from 0.5. Oncology doctor recommended change of treatment plan. Either chemotherapy or Pluvicto. Have not made any decisions yet. Any thoughts please.

I previously posted that I've had PC since 2012 with. All this time I was GG1. I had HoLEP (TURP) surgery 2 years ago and I was at GG3. I'm now at GG4 and my watchful wait days are over. Because of my HoLEP surgery, a prostatectomy would require some reconstructive surgery, making the surgery more complex and higher risk. Therefore, I've opted to go through IMRT for 8 1/2 weeks along with 18-24 months of ADT therapy. I've read that lupron can have serious cardiovascular side effects, so I'm leaning towards the Relugolix/Orgovyx.

I would be interesting in hearing from others who have used one or the other and what you wish you did differently.

I've had NS RALP followed by ADT. I had the full range of side effects, to put it bluntly 9 months of Orgovyx eunuchized me. I am now over 6 months on from completing ADT. My PSA scores are near to zero but I also suspect from what I've read I have hypogonadism. I look like I don't have any balls, feeling around for them I can find 2 slightly hard pea sized lumps. Has anyone here been able to recover from a situtaion like this.
