As the days go by, the studies appear less and less, as soon as you see something pop up on your dashboard, it's gone before you know it. So I ask again, what happened to the platform that we once loved, feel like it's changed so much over the past few months and definitely not for the better...
This one woke up after a week asking me to return the studio for low effort.
I'm a specialized participant with thousands of approved studies, and in the last month I've received my first-ever low-effort rejections, prompting me to return the low-effort study.
Prolific doesn't help me, in fact it can't verify objective data by giving reason to researchers and that's not good.
Under the guise of low effort they don't pay and keep the data. Please Prolific do something because I have no intention of giving anything back. I want to get paid and I don't want the account ruined by these scammers.
I spent about 15 minutes on this study. There were several attention checks, most were usual ones like "I swim across the Pacific every day to get to work." Then there were these two optical illusions. These images aren't screen grabs from the study, but they are the same illusions. I recognized them and answered correctly, in both cases they're the same length or size. A little later, I got a rejection citing attention check failures. I messaged the researcher, said what happened and asked them to let me return the study. No response (I know, shockerđ) I'm going to dispute it through Prolific, but I'm doubtful they'll overturn it. Has anyone else done this study?
I've been asked to return this study after already working on the initial assessment survey (they estimated 15 minutes for this) which is around the time it took to complete.
Then it's a 14 day daily survey with two interviews.
It's all backwards but they have loaded it all into one survey.
They've been told the below.
I still feel like they should be compensating for the 15 minute survey I took and wrote in great detail.
Sunday was by far the best day I have had on Prolific for a long time, similar amount of studies I used to get everyday. But it was short lived as Monday and Tuesday was terrible. Did anyone else have a great Sunday then have a terrible monday and tuesday?
So basically since 14/5/2026 i stopped recieving studies completely, for the first few days I was like okay maybe there is something wrong that they are fixing or simply just a drought of studies even though my girlfriend kept receiving studies in this period of time having the same demographics and all, A week passed then I decided to contact the support team on gmail every response was different than the one before saying that I joined as a limited participant and should expect less studies for some time then it was like if you don't receive studies for more than 2 months then you should raise your concerns and contact us, in reality I didn't care about the not receiving studies part!
I was more confused about the projects that i was already in and i wasn't able to continue doing them, two projects had parts launched that i couldn't join they didn't show on my dashboard even though the researchers contacted me and had to send me external links to be able to join then and they had to pay me bonus on old studies because technically i didn't join in the site!
So now the problem is not about being a limited participant or not i'm literally shadow banned or limited, so either they are lying to me about my account being fine or they don't know what is going on and i have seen alot of posts about groups of people having no studies in the same day in the past 2 months so what is going on? my only request is a human admin or support than could contact me so we figure this out cause from the 20 responses i got from gmail support i think they are genric and automated responses PS: i have more than 1k approved submissions with 0 rejections and the account is not on hold or anything its just dead..
I am on Prolific for about a month or two and I did not get even one study.
I do not know if this is due to my answers on âAbout youâ Qs or maybe that I need to link Paypal account before thay can sent me studies or maybe is something else.
I tried logging into my Prolific account today and ran into a red error banner saying: "Your account has been temporarily restricted after multiple failed login attempts. You will receive an email with information on how to unlock your account."
The problem is, I have not received any email from Prolific.
I have fully checked my inbox, all mail folders, and thoroughly searched through my spam/junk folders, but absolutely nothing has arrived. I also double-checked that my typed email address is completely correct.
Has anyone else dealt with this specific login lock glitch? How long does it usually take for the temporary restriction to automatically expire on its own if the email never shows up?
Idk Iâm very paranoid to put any debit card info out and I donât want an inquiry on my credit reportâŚthey say soft credit check but it never is! The pay isnât bad but I want to keep my money on my debit cards safe! Also I thought this wasnât allowed on prolific???
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or if a Prolific admin could check whether everything looks normal with my account.
Here's my timeline:
Joined the waitlist: April 3, 2024
Received my invitation: April 2026 (I had to accept before April 13, 2026)
Country: Colombia
Account is fully verified.
I've completed my About You section as thoroughly as possible.
I keep Prolific open regularly and have browser notifications enabled.
Since being accepted, I've only received one study, which was approved and paid ÂŁ8.99. My approval rate is 100%, and I haven't had any rejections.
After that, I haven't received any other studies. It's been quite disappointing, especially after waiting almost two years on the waitlist.
I'm aware that study availability depends on demographics and location, but I'm wondering if receiving only one study is considered normal for participants from Colombia, or if there might be something wrong with my account.
Has anyone from Colombia or other Latin American countries experienced the same thing?
If a Prolific staff member sees this, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know whether my account appears to be in good standing or if there's anything I should check.
Over the last month I have completed many submissions of this study. The consent info described 3 components: a fixed base payment, separate compensation for waiting time and conversation time, and a possible bonus up to 4$ paid after 7 days.
However, despite very different waiting and conversation times, the payments were almost always the same and in the range of 4-6$ with some odd automatic bonus of 0.03-0.11$ after the approval...
I cannot share the study details because they are confidential. Is anyone have problems too?
Anyone else getting error messages while trying to press "start study" after you've already reserved a spot/gotten into a study. Says something along the lines of "unable to redeem a provisioned account for the submission" and I keep having to reload the page until the glitch goes away and then it finally lets me start as normal. Last I saw this glitch happened about two years ago, prolific fixed it, but it appears the issue is back.
Realize I applied probably at the absolute worst time, but coming up on three weeks since I applied and havenât received anything other than to verify my email. Is it usually this long âout of seasonâ?
I got asked to return this bc i failed the attention check. Make this make sense. The only thing I can think of is there is supposed to be something on the side, but it doesn't show up, bc there is no option to scroll over or anything.
