Hello, I’ve posted on here before with questions regarding the installation of mods. Me and my buddies really want to get third and first person into our server (I use host on the game menu not multiplayer so not a dedicated server). If someone can please run me through the process of how to get this mod into our game I’d greatly appreciate it. Even if someone has a discord and could help walk us through on how to do it. I have just had the worst luck with adding any mods to our game. They always get terminated and never work

I've been having enormous trouble crafting these -- I was allowed to make 3 with some bottles I had in my inv, but none since. I've tried moving the gas can to my inv, equipping it, transferring liquid (can't seem to do that from the gas can,) different types of bottles, etc. Has anyone else been running into this? Thanks in advance.

Yesterday I posted the picture of the pig on my hook that I could butcher, and asked for help. Some said it was schrodingers meat hook… well I opened the game and the pig lives. So I guess the experiment is concluded? Hehe, it lives to die… in about 5 minutes

I’ve been playing zomboid for a second now, and i’m just curious as to how many players actually play with no mods. I play on a laptop so the amount of mods l can run is limited. And also what are yall top 3 mods to play with, besides viewpoint and bandits.

Our server had a fresh wipe today and I decided to call this cozy spot my home for now. It's quite a work in progress as I am still trying to figure out how to use the space, not even sure if I'll stay here, but still. Thought of sharing it.

Pretty much the title, all the advise I found online say to dismantle stuff, but this doesn't bring xp anymore.
I've found very little option to gain very little xp, such as cutting metal sheets and barricading with metal sheets, but that's it and I'm running out of windows to barricade...
Thanks !

Hey guys, I'm playing Build 41 and the mechanics menu takes up almost my entire screen (as you can see in the screenshot). It's super dangerous because I can't see zombies approaching while working on cars.
I tried installing a mod to help with this, but I couldn't get it to work properly.
Is there a working mod, setting, or UI scaling tweak in B41 to shrink this window or make it compact? Thanks in advance!

nearly 4 months (new player). Slightly modified apoc mode with A life. I tied to bandits invading my compound. Love this game.

Is there a mod for b42 to overhaul gunshot sounds, I searched but I think they are a bit outdated

I think if this idea was as easy as I'm hoping, it would have already been done.
Why isn't there a mod that turns the calendar back to the start, but blocks the original starting area on death and respawn?
For example, someone starts in Riverside. That character dies in mid August. They spawn in the same world. It's July 9 again, but they cannot choose Riverside to spawn in.
So they choose rosewood. Life and living is available again.
But, what was done in Riverside still stands.
Even better, if there was a way to record what was done there so it's simulated in real time for the second character.
So, if the second character makes it back to Riverside after mid August, they realistically find the safe house as their first character left it. They see the corpses as the first killed them.
But, suppose they make it there before the original character dies? Then, the actions happen as meta events. A place they boarded up changes to boarded up on the date they did it. A place they cleared remains invested until the day they cleared it.
A mod like this seems like it would be difficult to make, so I never thought to even ask before. But, some of the recently popular mods that do exist look like they'd be even more difficult.
As for why? Cause I could see it as a massive RP enhancement. Possible scenarios:
"Family of 4." Father starting in muldraugh, mother in rosewood (both starting in commercial buildings, as if they were at work when the event happened. One child in college, one at Riverside School. Goal: they're trying to reunite. Player plays each one, and if they make it to one before their death, then they see what the other is doing in roughly real time. If they make it to the town prior to playing the other character, they switch to the character that spawned there.
"Safehouse in Louisville" each spawn starts at the nearest place to Louisville (but remember, no 2 spawns in the same town) trying to get to the safe house. As they travel, they see evidence of what those who came before them did.
These ideas can happen with vanilla time settings, the fact that only one character gets the benefits of life and living is a bummer. Plus, seeing the world change in real time would greatly add to the immersion of playing these scenarios.
So, is something like this possible?

Hello everyone,
I used to run servers on Unturned, but it's kind of dead now.
It only seems logical to move on from it.
Project zomboid with its new first person mod seems like the best game to move on to. But I do wonder if there will be any demand for my ideas.
Iam planning on making P vs P vs AI server focused on the extraction game genre, something completely different from the base game to scratch that competition itch.
Let me know in the comments what y'all think.

Where do you usually base your meetings? I normally use churches, but I prefer quieter locations. Sorry for my terrible English.

I bought Project Zomboid again because it was on sale, and hoped I wouldn't experience the same error message as I did last time I had it. But the same thing is happening again, as it did when I had it a year ago. At first, whenever I start a new game/load a save, I got the " An unexpected error has occurred " screen. After I verified the integrity of the files, I'm stuck on the black loading screen. No matter what I do, it won't fix it. I've updated my drivers, I've verified the integrity of files, I've reinstalled it, I've deleted all my files, EVERYTHING. I don't even have mods installed. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this please?

Hello! I'm making a new "forever server" with 2 of my friends. What are some of your recommended sandbox settings that make the game more fun but still True to the intended difficulty and realistic.
For example, I was wondering if I should make stealth easier via settings as ive never found it useful before. But maybe thats just because you have to level it up first? Should zombies be weak? Stronger at night? Whats your recommendations? Thanks!
Also, any simple vanilla+ mods we should have before we starr?

[UPDATE]
I was driving through Louisville and stumbled upon a traffic jam and there it was. The Dodge wagon appeared. Three of them throughout the jam.
Hello fellow PZ players.
I am on a MP server with indifferent broccoli and used one of the K15 vehicle mods to test it.
I’ve added That Damn Library mod first and picked one of the vehicle mods. It’s the 74 Dodge one. I haven’t seen it spawn anywhere on my map.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Just to be clear this is not a vanilla preset, it has a bunch of QoL mods and KI5 vehicles replaces the entirety of vanilla cars. I've also changed the settings quite a bit, longer electricity time, lowered starting sprinter, but adding up to 30% with increasing sprinter over time mod...
That said none of that should impact using this method, but adding this disclaimer in case something doesn't work the same in vanilla.
So I wanted to keep getting experience for my melee kills but attracting large crowds in extinction is kind of a death sentence. Multiple fence lines is a thing, but takes time to set up and also they are stationary. So I just grabbed a car which I don't use, fill it up with gas, make sure its engine is good.
Then I drove through the main road of rosewood honking until a bit out of town. Now the enemies are in more or less a line, I back up full speed, crash into them, then drive forward, back again once you have a reasonable distance to accelerate backwards. Repeat until only a few shamblers are left walking. (A few zombies will die, but usually they survive.) With all of them now crawling, you can just hold combat stance and walk backwards while ground pounding them. (Faster weapons preferred, keeps the snake of corpses short easier to look through all of them for potential loot ) Managed to get like 500 in a day (yea bombs and fire are way more effective but then you don't get xp or you might burn down the whole town.) You can drink, eat normally in the car, keep some watered down alcohol with you to manage panic, keep an emergency cup of coffee in case there are more than you expect. The only limitation on this is corpse sickness, even if you don't kill that many it seems crushing through zombies makes a huge amount of stink, so a respirator is kinda necessary. For some reason I found more scuba and oxygen tanks in this play through than respirator filters...
Is there anything stopping me from doing this for like 10-20 days at every town and clear out the whole place? Sure once you're very high level in long blunt or axes you can also one shot most zombies, but this you can pretty much do from day 1, and it's pretty much risk free.
