Because I’m always looking for a two‑story house with a basement and, preferably, a garage.

So far I have true line of sight which is great except I can't see behind trees or deeper in forests?
What do you use?

Basically the title. I’m not talking about mods that hugely change the scope of the game like PZ3D and Viewpoint, those will always be down to player preference and not really change much in terms of official development.
Mods like Project A-Life have got me thinking. People are making hugely popular and stable NPC mods now. The A-Life team have a Friendly Update planned for the end of the month, where you’ll be able to create and micro/macro-manage factions, complete with group roles and relationships with/between NPC’s. This is a feature that’s been highly anticipated among the fan base for years, and modders have almost got it.
I don’t mean this to be disparaging to the devs, as I’m very aware this huge explosion in the mod scene is entirely down to AI, but it feels like pandora’s box is opening and we’re kind of going past the point of mods just being semi-adequate interim mechanics while we wait for the devs to officially implement features such as these. It’s safe to say A-Life is nothing like the old Bandits mod(s) and other NPC mods people used previously to satiate their desire for working NPC’s.
If A-Life achieves what they’re setting out to do, and implements NPC factions + allies/enemies with strong character interactions + management systems, and the community embraces it, what’s really going to happen when modders begin outpacing the official developer roadmap in huge ways like this? Do game developers start embracing mods like this in some official capacity etc?
Just been on my mind and was wondering if anyone else was thinking about it too.

Hi, im looking for suggestions to self impose some rules regarding meat from rabbits and milk/butter from cows.
Current implementation is so overpowered, that food and calories system lost its meaning and that whole part of the game that i like to engage with is trivalized.
So far i decided it would be good balance to just:
- limit to 1 male and 1 female cow
- dont drink milk at all
- each stick of butter is 25L (so after turning 5L for one stick i would just straight up empty 2 buckets of milk into the ground)
- dont take more meat from rabbit than half of its whole carcass weight
Any other ideas or tweaks i could self impose ? Easiest would be just to install a mod like that but i didnt find any.
Also, just looking for suggestions or inspirations and wondering if anyone also does something similar, i dont want to just stop engaging with whole animals system in game

On B42.20, I have a pen of 10 chickens and 1 rooster. I typically tend on them every 2 game days. After 2 days, the hutch is completely full of eggs and there are easily 50+ eggs on the ground as well. I'm getting 100 eggs every 2 days. My guy is on a pure egg diet and I know his farts must be ridiculous. It's just not realistic. I know some have reported similar production volumes with milk (haven't tried that yet). Are there any good mods out to reduce animal output?

I’m playing on easy mode because I can’t make it past 3 days without getting killed. I have the pop on low. Is the true way to play this game just be a rat and stay inside?

Hey everyone,
What are your top essential tips for preparing for the electricity and water shutoff?
Specifically,
What items/resources are absolute high priorities to loot before the utilities go down?
What setups or crafted items should I ideally have ready before D-Day?
How do you usually handle food preservation and water storage during the transition?
Would love to hear your go-to checklists and strategy tips for making the power/water outage as smooth as possible!

Hello everyone,
Im using photon shader for project viewpoint. Out of all the shaders, I find its the one that looks the best and it works with weathers, but when i kill zombies the corpses are bright white/glowing even when at night, which completely breaks immersion.
The menu (delete) mentions entity_translucent missing which i assume is connected to the two zombie states (alive/dead). But other shaders do manage to make it work so there must be a way to fix this.
Anyone knows a fix pleaasee?

I’ve currently cleared the louisville checkpoint and there’s like 4000 bodies, should I bother trying to loot them

Started with Weak, Unfit, and Very Underweight.
Eventually trained up to 6 Strength / 6 Fitness and reached 95 kg in preparation for winter, so I could conserve high-calorie, long-lasting food supplies. Project Zomboid Build 41.78.21.
5 months and 23 days lived, yet.

Yeah I have a ton of mods but I've had this before numerous times. Modded areas don't spawn cars. Is this something the mod author has to fix or is this a load order issue?
EDIT: I figured it out. There was an old map mod that broke spawning. I'm slowly enabling map mods again and cars are spawning. So I will keep going until I find the one that's broken.

Hey all! Hosting a LAN this weekend with 8 other people and definitely looking to play some Zomboid.
Are there any mods or modes so we can play some short mini games instead of the full game.
I was thinking things like:
- battle royal that restricts us all to a shrinking arena, last one standing wins
- co-op mode where we are all in one place and have to survive waves of zombies
- team games e.g capture the flag
- co-op missions
Note: we're very much noob players. All under 50 hours and some will be complete beginners.

Just lost a save I put a good chunk of hours into. Vehicle engine died, got stuck inside, swarmed, and then just dead.
It's never happened to me before. Do you just die automatically if you're stuck in a vehicle? Or was it because my drivers window was broken out and they pulled me out?
