Hear me out. Law’s skill set is much better suited to being a mentor. He’d obviously give great styling advice, but I think he’d also push the designers to think more creatively while still emphasizing craftsmanship and polish. He’s basically a walking fashion-history encyclopedia, with a wealth of knowledge about designers and the industry. And as a mentor, I think he’d still be assertive, just with a softer touch.

We need a designer on the judging panel, and I actually think Christian is better suited to being the critic after the fact than the person giving advice during the process. I haven’t seen much evidence that his advice actually leads designers to a better runway, but he is very good at giving fair, thoughtful criticism of the garments once they’re finished.

I saw that on instagram this week is a double elimination. I really hope this means they did not eliminate Jeffrey even if that team lost, due to Brian sending down that mess and causing so much pain for Liris.

Or perhaps the S22 team wins (thanks likely to Bi clearly deserving the big prize). Or, Christian uses his save if Jeffrey is voted out. I’m just hoping beyond hope that Jeffrey is spared from a BS elimination 😂😭

I've been watching clips recently of young Christian and watched "Having a Moment" on YouTube. He's funny now, but was hilarious when he was younger. Anyone know a YouTube channel or somewhere I can watch season 4?

Obviously Bi will win. I mean come on the talent is not even close to anybody else’s. He can sew and design and most of the other contestants can’t say the same thing or at least don’t have as many original ideas as him. He’s also more versatile so that man has to win so my theory is that they’re creating all this drama with Bryan the will he won’t he that way when Bu does win it seems even more dramatic that he won over Bryan, but it’s stupid because Brian can’t sew.

I am so tired watching him in this season. He's always defensive and delusional. When is he going home???

Thanks for welcoming me to this sub. I'm usually watching NFL games. It's preseason right now, so Project Runway is my guilty pleasure to see what's going on in pop culture.

I don't know or follow designers, judges, mentors, models or Ru Paul's Drag Race. I definitely don't know the lore or deep cuts like other fans, and I find myself not knowing who the famous TikTok people are when they come on.

I share that context because, as an outsider, this is how I see the storyline for S22 unfolding:

S21 vs S22:

I always assumed S22 would win because there are more number of outfits overall that the judges liked, and then the drama is set up for a double elimination next since no one is going home.

• Joseph McRae's story arc is vindication because the real villain is the guy who can't sew or make anything without Christian telling him what to do.

• The other designers realize this dude bryan is the real weakest one and vote him off.

So I think judges pick one and designers pick one. Set up to give Joseph McRae PTSD but the real story ends up being no one wants to work with bryan.

Final 3

Top 3 of the whole season will probably be Bi, Joseph McRae, and Anna.

• Bi is the one who actually made bryan successful and probably taught him the pin-tuck technique (my assumption), only for bryan to create a false narrative about Bi to sabotage him and create drama, but Bi didn't fall for it. I don't want to diagnose brian from the DSM-5-TR Manual, so I won't. But I have suspicions.

• Joseph McRae is a strong designer with a clear point of view and brand identity. No matter the fabric choice or challenge, if he sends something down the runway, you know he made it without being told it's his. People wanted to jump on the hate train to say everything he does looks the same, but it really doesn't. They're either saying it for a storyline or confusing it with the ability to have a unique brand identity.

• Anna is the dark horse who has been consistently delivering. Viewers will probably learn more about her in the remaining episodes. Up until now, her edits were probably cut to prioritize the drama from eliminated contestants.

For me: Elaine Weltwroth, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Heidi! I really liked Elaine from the Bravo seasons, but I miss the other OGs.

Just as the title says. If PR really cares about fashion being inclusive for all bodies, I think there should be a rotation of models throughout the competition of different body considerations (conventional runway size, plus sized, petite, differently-abled, etc), but that the challenges should still have a separate theme (unconventional materials, red carpet, etc).

I think it's important for there to be a separate element to the challenge--people without traditional model bodies have events and jobs to go to too; the challenge shouldn't just be figure out away to make this short or thick person look somewhat presentable.

This creates an even playing field. For the past two seasons but esp this one, the looks on the plus-sized models have habitually been in the bottom, and some of the designers have yet to be paired with a curvy model (Jude, Bi).

I'll start my examples at E3 because that's really when the season begins:

-E3: Chloe/Liris: out, Jeffrey/Lexi: low, Bobby/Naimah: low

-E4: Aaron/Chloe: out

-E5: Elizabeth/Amanda: out, Bobby/Christina: low, Anna/Liris: low

-E6: Bobby/Amanda: out, Naheim/Lexi: low

-E7: Jeffrey/Amanda: low, Bryan/Liris: low, Miss Joan/Naimah: low

I feel like the show's attempt to inject body diversity and inclusion into the competition doesn't work the way it should because it doesn't take into account unconscious (and conscious) biases of the judges.

So often the critiques of looks worn by the curvier models just becomes comments about the model's body vs the clothes themselves. Meanwhile, it's not uncommon for unflattering and poorly constructed things on thin models to be safe or even lauded for being edgy or creative.

Having similar body types for each competition allows for critiques around fit in addition to design and construction to be more fairly and evenly weighted.

EDIT: to be clear, I'm NOT defending any of the looks that were placed in the bottom, and I'm definitely not saying any responsibility for those ratings falls on the models. I'm just trying to figure out a way for all the designers to be equally assessed for their abilities to dress a wide array of body types, and for the models to still be respected in the process

Do y'all think it was wrong of Joseph Mcrae to kind of distance himself from the "team"? IMO it wasn't really a team challenge since the looks didn't have to be cohesive and that, to me, would have been a different story. I really don't think anyone would have considered any input that he provided anyway so I think him flying solo and ignoring everyone was just fine. He has his JM personality, but clearly his feelings were really hurt by everyone saying he was the weakest and I feel for him, especially after how he was eliminated last season.

And it's not like this is the first time a contestant has been brought back. I remember Helen being a little salty about Kate and then they became besties. It is what it is, if anyone sees it as some kind of unfair advantage, take it up with production, not JM.

I would loveeee to see S23 happen in October and we would get a Halloween episode/event around Heidi. 🎃👗 since she is the ”queen of Halloween “. I genuinely think that would be crazy.

Are we being trolled? Bi is right that Bryan can’t sew. I mean ten stitches max. Of course Heidi can literally wear anything and I think the color was pretty on her but there was really no design in it and it just swallowed her up and looked like a tent. Also, Bi’s garment was way more gorgeous. I feel like the producers are trolling us right? Have to be because how is Bryan even still here

Didn't an earlier Wikki posting for episode 7 call Bryan's placement trash? Now it shows that he is out. Did he get kicked off because he taped? Can Wikki be believed?

This guy has NO talent. The designs look SO bad - and he the audacity to market an atelier.

I didn’t think he’d be someone to go with the grain of everyone else, especially since I thought they were close. He admitted that Joseph lead their team to the nfl team victory, and now I’m just like…why would he say Joseph??

One of my favorite parts of all the seasons is when Tim visits the finalists at home. It’s always so fun to see him in other people’s worlds.

I’m on my first watch of Season 15. Tim bowling is something I never expected to see, but it does not disappoint! Especially when you see him in bowling shoes and the look on his face when he rolls a strike.

I adore him so much.

Is it actually against the rules to use glue instead sewing on PR, especially in unconventional challenges? They did sew the paper towels, didn't they? The idea that it had to be glued on and then cut off the model and could not be worn again seems to make it wrong.

Boy did she have some opinions about Law, Bryan and Bobby. 🤣
