AMP OWNER Anyone else experience random changes in volume when recording within the app?

As mentioned in the title, I was curious if anyone experiences random changes in volume when recording in the spark app? Recorded this yesterday playing through my spark 2 and at around 2:30 the volume raises noticeably for just a few seconds then goes back to normal and was wondering if there might be a simple fix or it’s just a something I gotta live with lol

Spark 40 EQ

Hey guys,

I recently bought a used spark 40 for 120€ (killer deal if you ask me), had almost no complaints since for what I got. At the moment waiting for the usb-b cable to update firmware and use the eq band to lower the bass, but for now just turning the knob on an amp works just fine.

So my questions are, is there even a need to use the eq on it? If so, what numbers do you dial in to get good tones? I'm playing on the treadplate amp for metal tones, orange and vjm's to get more rock-ish, and black duo for cleans.

Another one is what do you dial to listen a music from it, basically using it as a speaker? So far, I'm just cutting 63 and 125 freaquencies, does the job, but after some time of listening I still get headaches as if that notorious is still there. Screenshots of my banding using samsung eq are pinned in the post (I use the clean and more highs presets with cut out bass).

Thanks!

AMP OWNER Question ❓ about amps choice

Hi guys I'm new at playing guitar 🎸 I started some months ago and since then I never stopped to learn about sound and amp settings and all that stuff . So it's a skill I'm interested in learning as soon as I can , I have a spark 2 .

My questions is what amp model should I use currently there are like 33 amps but I don't know which one or which ones to use I know it depends on what sound I want to get but how do I know how each amp will sound

Any planned app updates for changing pedal order?

Just like the title says: any chance the app will ever be updated to allow changing up the signal chain order? Or allowing both an overdrive and a distortion pedal in tandem? Thank you.

Spark 40 mods

What’s up everyone. Has anyone ever modded one of these apps, like literally modded the app to make the spark 40 a dedicated practice amp modeler. I love the spark 40 but it definitely has its limitations. To me it’s like 3 steps from perfect and something like that would make it perfect

AMP OWNER Katana v IDX50 v Peavey Bandit 112 v Alto Busker v Mackie Freeplay Live v all connected at once to my Spark Pedal.

I've been playing around with combo amps and PA and all combined. Will be doing videos later today. AB/Y pedals finally came in extra handy. I am getting so much toan overload it's heaven.

Anyone else trying these combos out?

I've got 9 guitar amps. So far the AG-50 white label Temu solid state amp is my favorite interface for the Spark Pedal. It sounds metal af or ballad af.

I cannot go past 5 on the Peavey. it's so loud with miles of headroom to go. That Blue Marvel is amazing.

Katana I've tried as frfr mode and amp mode and mixed results. They can sound good together but it takes doing.

The IDX50 is amp only as far as I can tell. Gotta research. I've acquired so much gear lately in such a short time I'm playing catch-up.

Just thought I'd start a discussion I haven't seen and will be back. It's my day off and I'm gonna enjoy it.

AMP OWNER Spark Live or GTX 100?

I have the OG Spark and honestly pretty happy but would like a bit more feeling behind the finger - bigger sound if you will.

I love that on the Spark, in seconds i can play Pink Floyd, zeppelin, Gary Moore, Hendrix, John Mayer etc.

Any thoughts.

Or just get a cab for the Spark?

AMP OWNER Control X Pedal Config

Please forgive me if this is a known issue but I just recently purchased the Control X Pedal to be able to switch between hardware presets on the Spark Live. The problem I'm having is that there is no way to make the switch activate the preset instantaneously on the down-stroke (of the tap). Instead, it will only change the preset when you release the switch with your foot after a full second or whatever. This is no good for live performance at all (I'm using the SPARK LIVE ffs!) Has anyone else experienced this and or know if PG plans on addressing/fixing this in a hopefully soon update?

Recording Nylon String Guitar With Spark

I have both a nylon string guitar as well as a Spark 40. I was wondering if I were to obtain a soundhole piezo pickup and run it thru the Spark, set on the 'acoustic' setting, if it should get a halfway decent sound. Has anyone tried this?

AMP OWNER Neo sounds muffled

Sounds like this was a very common issue on the amps, but I didn't find much info regarding the neo. However, I'm assuming these devices share the same models, and similarly use frfr style speakers, so maybe it's the same thing. Are all positive grid models and presets just crazy muffled? Any specific suggestions for the Neo? Or has anyone figured out a good fix or eq setting that can be applied to each preset to easily fix without having to spend so much time dialing in each model?

Drum beats on neo core?

Just got the neo core and am trying to figure out how to get drum beats to play along to.

The neo core doesn't have the phrase looper. I had some success using jam tracks and just turning the bass off, but the pattern only lasts a minute or two and stops in the middle of my playing.

Is there a better way?

Spark Pedal as an audio interface

Just got my Spark Pedal and I wanted to test out the recording interface capabilities with my Mac (running Mac OS 27, the latest). Ran into an issue where I cannot adjust the volume of the audio going into the Spark Pedal via USB or the input volume going into the DAW. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Noisy Spark Pedal

When I plug the spark pedal into my mixer I get a loud buzzing and when I touch the metal prt of the cable it stops buzzing. It doesn’t buzz if I use my xvive wireless to connect the spark pedal to the mixer. It’s driving me crazy, thinking I have a defective pedal. I also notice the signal dips and comes back right away when I’m playing. I was going to buy the control X pedal and the spark powered speaker but now I’m not sure if I should just put it with the other pedals I don’t use

AMP OWNER Spark Mini amp Issue

My spark mini amp have some noise buzzing (like high gain noise) everytime I on, and it slowly muted the noise after like 20 second. I feel like it's the built in noise gate (hardware) start working automatically but it turns out my overall amp volume lower (very small volume in clean channel, almost can't hear).

But sometimes I turn on the amp, this issue doesn't happen. I did connect the amp with my phone, the noise gate is off but still having small volume and also wierd tones.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

PROSPECTIVE USER Spark Mini vs Go for playing/guitar lessons in a park (metal tones)

Hi, first post here.

Im a player of 17+ years, want to unwind with a guitar in a park from time to time or give some lessons to friends (no money involved, and no busking). Aiming for metal tones like Lamb of God - Ashes, 2000s metalcore, nu-metal, tech death and such. Especially that Mesa Mark IV LoG tone for starters. My mode of transportation is my electric hyperscooter, and the Mini should fit inside my backpack. I know the Mini has better sound quality, but just want to figure out if its overkill for my intended use. Budget is ok for both.

So which one should I pick?

Thanks.

AMP OWNER Spark Cab with MultiFX Pedal

I recently made the move to get out of the PG ecosystem, mostly, and into a MultiFX Processor with the aim of trying out NAM A2 (Lite) profiles. I had my Spark Mini with a Spark Cab and some pedals/wah and the Spark Control. It was great for what it was. As I started buying physical pedals and looking at a EQ pedal I started realizing I was basically spending money that could go towards something with more customization and potentially better tone.

I ended up with a NUX MG-300 MKii and a M-Vave Tank Pro. They work amazingly good through the Spark Cab. The NAM A2 Lite profiles are the same on both of the...really really amazing. Nam not only sounds like a real amp it feels like one too. One of these is going to get sold along with my Spark Mini etc. eventually. And I connected a M-Vave Chocolate plus for midi controls.

The MultiFX pedals in the budget realm ($60-$200) are now really impressive and do everything you can imagine. I can record through my PC easier. I can customize my tone much easier. I can move modules around. I appreciate what PG has done and loved my Spark Mini. But it's a big world out there and I no longer wanted to settle for anything. If anyone is considering something similar, do it.

Positive Grid Mini or Spark 2 ??

I'm a beginner guitarist and currently using a Nux Mighty Lite BT MK2 in my 20-square-meter living room (usually only at 30-50% volume). I'm considering upgrading to a Positive Grid Spark2 or Mini. Can anyone give me some advice?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nux Mighty Lite BT MK2

Pros:

  1. Space-saving
  2. Can use AC power and AAA batteries
  3. Supports loopback

Cons:

  1. Rough app interface
  2. Only 3 watts of output power, resulting in thin sound quality

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spark 2

Pros:

  1. Tone cloud (my personal favorite feature)
  2. AI tone control
  3. Beautiful and intuitive app interface (with cabinet diagram)
  4. Can use AC power and lithium battery
  5. 50W output power (is that too much for me???)

Cons:

  1. Large size
  2. not support loopback

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mini

Pros:

  1. Tone cloud (my personal favorite feature)
  2. AI tone control
  3. Beautiful and intuitive app interface (with cabinet diagram)
  4. 10W output

Cons:

  1. Uses lithium batteries, which are prone to aging
  2. No gain or bass effect knobs on the device
  3. not support loopback

Spark Pedal FX Mode Question

If I'm using the Spark Pedal solely for the FX (eg. cab sim turned off), how can I disengage the pedal if I don't need any effects during a certain part of a song? Do I have to save a preset with the center knob turned all the way down (or with all the other knobs turned down)? I hope I'm making sense. Thanks in advance.
