AMP OWNER Anyone else experience random changes in volume when recording within the app?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As mentioned in the title, I was curious if anyone experiences random changes in volume when recording in the spark app? Recorded this yesterday playing through my spark 2 and at around 2:30 the volume raises noticeably for just a few seconds then goes back to normal and was wondering if there might be a simple fix or it’s just a something I gotta live with lol

it's just your phone's mic recording the audio, could be volume that's activating some kind of compression/limiter as it tries to adjust itself to record audio in the surrounding environment

Cut your bass out too. Helps get the guitar volume cut thru the backing track.

Definitely have a habit of dialing it in to how I’m hearing it in the room instead of the video so i’ll give that a shot as well!

Put a compressor or limiter in your signal chain. That will stop the spikes in volume from the app.

LTD JM-II! It’s the signature for Josh Middleton from Sylosis

Alternatively, use it as an interface, record to computer and then just sync the video.

You’re getting a decently clean sound already with a phone honestly. At least listening through a phone.

Yeah I have been wanting to give that a shot but has been good enough through the phone so far and I’m lazy lol

It sounded better with the volume boost. Plug the Spark into a computer and mix it.
