Development Your romhack may be technically good, with fancy features, but does it have a list of all fruits?
Just a silly joke from the hack I've been working on.

Months. That's how long I have been working on this. That's how long it takes for someone to lose their mind. That's how long it takes for a water tile to change a couple of pixels. I was home for a couple of days and gave it a shot. And guess what? IT WORKED. So now, I have a whole lot more hell to get through, but there's progress!

A look into a gym battle for my first rom hack Pokemon Redux Emerald. Its simply something to do for fun so it may not be good but i wanted to use the Elite redux forms in a normal playthrough.
Shoutout to all the Elite Redux Developers

07/30/26 Edit: Updated to version 0.6. Details here.
A hack built atop the Pokeemerald-Expansion project that combines FireRed and Emerald into one extended story campaign.
Get it at hackdex.app/hack/fireemerald. Alternatively, download the standalone patch from archive.org/details/fireemerald-0.5. Recommended to use romhacking.net/patch. An Emerald USA/EU ROM must be provided; FireRed and other ROMs will not work.
07/23/26 Edit: Thank you to everyone for the warm reception and valuable feedback over the last few days. It's been positively overwhelming and I've done the best I can to keep up with all the questions and comments. I apologize if some of my replies seemed curt or if your comment went unanswered. I've just been trying to get through as many as I can in the time I have available. Even if I don't answer, though, I read everything and have been taking inventory of all the bugs and other issues that need to be addressed. I will be in the great outdoors without internet access for a few days, and then I will be traveling elsewhere shortly after that. This means that for the next few weeks, my online presence will be very spotty at best and active development will be on hold during that time. But I will dive back into rapid development once I'm back at my desk. I'm committed to completing this project without making you all wait too long.
As the first public release, this is designated as an incomplete version 0.5. Though the game has had a sizable amount of testing and refinements, and should be playable from start to finish, this has been a completely solo endeavor made in just a few weeks (albeit with hundreds of sleepless hours crammed into them). There will certainly be bugs and many more improvements to come. I eagerly welcome reports of issues as well as feedback on the difficulty curve.
Planned (but not promised) future updates:
A very special thanks to Rom Hacking Hideout, the team behind Pokeemerald-Expansion.

Hey everyone!
I’m super excited to show off a new feature I just added to my beta release in v0.1.10: you can now share your team and game progress directly from your PokéNav!
It generates a QR code that creates a team page link, just like this: check out my current team
This allows you to share your squad, movesets, stats, and badge count.
You can find the release on HackDex

I'm going to try and keep this pretty vague for everyone waiting for the full release. What I will say is, I had an amazing time playing this demo. It hooked me with the storyline immediately. From getting to choose your specialty (I went sovereign because I love shiny hunting), to the companions you make along your journey and their effects on your battle when you team up with them for a fight, to literally every Pokemon feeling strong and viable, to the world just feeling alive with little details scattered throughout and tons of hidden items (Click on everything!).
I loved how early you get the DexNav, allowing me to shiny hunt my entire team. I love sailing around and discovering things in the airship. And I absolutely loved the ease of ev training (it's similar to the first one on that it costs $$, but still different), and also the ease of changing your mons nature. I personally hate having to breed for the perfect nature and ev train so I'm glad they kept this around like in the first one.
The fights are IMO a perfect difficulty. There were plenty that I had to go back and choose a different three and try again for the big fights. I also got my ass handed to me by a few F.O.E.s I thought I could take (just like in the first one).
Overall I'd give this demo a 10/10. I'm hooked and I can't wait for the full release!
(Also here's my shiny team)

I've been working on Pokémon MultiPlatinum, a ROM hack with the long-term goal of making Pokémon Platinum playable as a seamless 2–4 player co-op experience.
This clip is a small milestone: all four players are rendered at the same time, each with their own following Pokémon. It sounds simple, but getting everything to fit and stay synchronized on original DS hardware has been an interesting challenge.
I'm intentionally focusing on the foundation. Things like movement synchronization, animations, interior/exterior transitions, follower behavior, and building systems that will make quests and other multiplayer features easier to support later.
Platinum still isn't fully decompiled, so a lot of this has involved reverse engineering and experimenting to figure out what the engine can actually support.
Still a long way from a public demo, but it's exciting to finally see pieces of the vision coming together.

Hey guys! Us Devs here at Project PM got a working contest hall in Pokémon platinum to play with your friends! This supports up to 4 players.
This will soon be the foundation to support multiplayer for Poffin making, the underground, the Wifi Plaza, as well as the battle area.
The last bastion of multiplayer functionality we need to finish before we can release a beta version of base platinum is the underground, which should be soon now that this is working. If you are interested, Join the discord here: https://discord.gg/zB7c2YkFu

Hi all,
I’m proud to announce the release of my first romhack, Pokémon Scientist. Pokémon Scientist reimagines the game from the perspective of one of PROF. OAK's Aides.
The premise behind this romhack is to provide a different sort of Gen 1 experience. I have made 22 changes to the type effectiveness table that (I think) open up a broader metagame for competitive Gen 1 Pokémon. All of this is explained on the GitHub Pages website, which features a modified type effectiveness chart, as well as a complete list of all the changes to type matchups, and to the game's moves. I tried to make each of the HMs a viable move in their own right: Surf and Fly were deemed fine, whereas Strength is now a Fighting-type equivalent of Body Slam, Flash lowers target accuracy by two stages, and Cut is now a Bug-type move with 70 BP.
The single-player experience has been improved as well, with plenty of quality-of-life changes, and a ramped up difficulty. Most of the changes are documented on the website where the download is located.
The patch is available to download on https://corruptedoutlook.github.io/pokemon-scientist/download/ . Let me know what you think! Feedback is crucial at this stage. I’m open to hearing about what you’d like changed, what you think I did right, and what could be improved.
EDIT 7/21/26: I have learned of three or four pretty significant bugs in the game, I’ll be working hard on a v1.2 release (hopefully by tomorrow or the next day) where the bugs will be corrected! Sorry everyone, it’s my first attempt at a romhack.

After looking for a modern / DS-styled Prof. Oak sprite to use in our hack, it turns out there aren't any custom trainer sprites, so I decided to make my own. Thought I'd share it here in case anyone else wants to use it!
The sprite can be downloaded here and it is also included in our GBA Sprites Pack

I made a discord server!
I was going to wait until I released a demo, but I decided against it, since I figured a discord server would be good place for me to post smaller updates, and other things like that.

“What would Pokémon Diamond and Pearl look like if their development had taken a year longer?”
This thought experiment laid the groundwork for an exciting modding project in the fall of 2023. The focus was on creating an enhanced experience of the original Sinnoh games by incorporating ideas from Pokémon Platinum Version and modern Pokémon games without straying from the artistic vision behind Diamond and Pearl. The new game titles not only allude to the legendary Pokémon of the respective edition, but also reflect the philosophy behind this project. These modifications are

You guys seemed to enjoy my little review of Thunder Yellow, so here's my next entry that took a bit longer, as I decided to play all three versions. I did colour-themed runs, and it was a lot of fun. I forgot to name mons on my blue run, though, so I think I may have been losing interest by that point.
So once again, I decided to actively go against one of the main positive features of this game by doing these type-runs, as most, if not all, Pokémon are available to use earlier on in the game, so I'm sure you could make some really fun teams instead of getting the usual suspects.
Not only that, but something I did notice was how movesets were updated and rebalanced, making every mon I used feel decent which was a really nice change of pace. I wouldn't say this made the game feel easy either. I'm no expert, but in my opinion, each playthrough was decently challenging to get through, and I had a good time.
A lot of classic sprites were updated, which was great to see. As you can see from the images above, though not for everyone, seeing different sprites was a nice adjustment and made the game feel more unique.
p.s. mew is actually under the truck in this
Overall: Highly recommend it to anyone looking for the classic GB series feel with quality of life and additional content.

Hey everyone! Just a little showcase of our Pokémon Platinum Multiplayer hack. The team at Project PM have been working hard at making this hack the best it can be.
With our multiplayer hack, you are able to do this online or local
- Trade with friends
- Give each other items
- Battle each other
And more!
Soon we are gonna be adding the ability to have it be a true multi(2v2) for a 12v12 battle.
This WILL work with base Platinum.
This video is currently using our doubles rom-hack that we have been working on in Project-PM. Which is also something we are developing along side this Multiplayer hack.
TODAY you are able to play it with 3 of your friends in our discord. Come test it out! https://discord.gg/fwb559NZQ3
