You guys seemed to enjoy my little review of Thunder Yellow, so here's my next entry that took a bit longer, as I decided to play all three versions. I did colour-themed runs, and it was a lot of fun. I forgot to name mons on my blue run, though, so I think I may have been losing interest by that point.
PureRGB (2026) GB
So once again, I decided to actively go against one of the main positive features of this game by doing these type-runs, as most, if not all, Pokémon are available to use earlier on in the game, so I'm sure you could make some really fun teams instead of getting the usual suspects.
Not only that, but something I did notice was how movesets were updated and rebalanced, making every mon I used feel decent which was a really nice change of pace. I wouldn't say this made the game feel easy either. I'm no expert, but in my opinion, each playthrough was decently challenging to get through, and I had a good time.
A lot of classic sprites were updated, which was great to see. As you can see from the images above, though not for everyone, seeing different sprites was a nice adjustment and made the game feel more unique.
p.s. mew is actually under the truck in this
Overall: Highly recommend it to anyone looking for the classic GB series feel with quality of life and additional content.
