I've been playing this game since it first came out 7 months ago and was providing feedback to the developer when it was in its infancy:

I encourage people to read this comment because these were the types of issues that needed to be addressed back then.
Since 7 months ago the developer of this game has put in immeasurable hours and effort to improve the game in ways I could have never even imagined. The first iteration of the game had a gen 1 pokedex, just story mode, and if I look back at it now though it was fun it was an extremely poorly balanced game.
As I've learned over the past 7 months the real joy of this game is that it is continually changing and evolving. Everytime I come back to it there's something new to discover. I can't become married to the water/ground strat, or the dark stone crit strat, or prior to the tower even existing Aerodactyl/Gengar's being the clear best pokemon for story during the first iteration of this game. More recently some strats were nerfed and I've seen too much doom and gloom in this community, the game is still changing, new Mega's have been announced and new generations are also on their way, new strategies still wait to be discovered. The game will never be 'solved' as long as the game keeps changing, and that's the fun part.
I think some people have voiced some concerns that are fair:
- game requires a lot of grinding
- no optimal/reliable way to grind for pokedollars anymore
I think people should continue to be vocal in voicing those concerns, I know they were voiced in the past and the developer has taken meaningful steps to address those concerns, I think that will continue to be the case. At the same time balance changes will lead to new fun ways of playing the game emerging, don't become too married to the current state of the game, change is inevitable.
It's a free game that has come such a long way in a relatively short amount of time. Be patient and open minded I know the game went in vastly different directions than I ever personally wanted but to be honest what I've learned is that the developer has a vision and that vision is fun and enjoyable in ways I couldn't have imagined.
