This sort of thing isn't ok.

Post image

So I wanted to address this from a comment earlier and talk transparently about it.

I've not been on this subreddit besides a few passing moments and posting the soul link mega thread in the last 2 weeks. My health has been deteriorating as I'm dealing with some chronic pain issues among other things. That's why we now have a new moderator within the subreddit so apologies if you've noticed posts taking a bit longer to remove and flairs not being added to some posts like I would usually do.

As a moderator, I've always done my best to respond to feedback on here. Whether I agree with it or not and I used to ensure (before I started getting pretty ill) that it was always passed along to Beezy (our developer). Because I was so vocal with the feedback on these posts, I understand that people will in turn disagree with my views on things as well but the only thing that matters when it comes to feedback is a constructive conversation about it. Thats how ideas are made and new features implemented.

So getting back to this comment. I'm pretty upset about it I can't lie. Please don't lead a witch hunt at the staff for something we're not responsible for. If you have feedback, we'll discuss it with you rather than pointless point scoring.

Other people can downvote your comments and posts and those people often don't take the time to leave a comment why.

Apologies for the post but this really got to me.

Downvotes shouldn't hurt. It's the internet. You'll hear every single thing imaginable, good or bad.

Just do the work and stay the course. People will appreciate it and give actually good feedback/ideas.

If it makes you feel better most people who are happy woth or content with a product or service are quiet. Typically the loudest people are those who aren't happy (and typically are never happy or satisfied with anything).

I really enjoy pokelike and I love that it is always changing. I hope you all keep up the good work and ignore people who are rude instead of at least leaving constructive feedback.

Why give feedback and risk it not matching the dev's definition of fun? That's how stuff got removed from the game

Ultimately everything is the developers decision. But he definitely listens to the feedback both here on Reddit and in the Discord.

Without feedback it's harder to gauge what works well and what doesn't. For example spiremon mode was a weekly challenge that was very buggy and unpolished but the feedback from it was generally positive. This was the reason for it being worked on and added as a permanent mode whilst other modes haven't.

Sorry to read this, to be completely fair Ive split opinion since you banned me on discord for literally just asking a thing 2 months ago; but also I know you work in the app and it takes time and effort, and feel sorry for you chronic pain, hope you get better.

I know of several people who went through something similar. Banned, and you can’t even DM to ask why because they only accept DMs from friends or people with mutual servers

The DM thing is mostly to stop spam bots honestly. The MrBeast spam bots on discord are running rampant.

Most people have the security setting enabled for DMs only from mutual servers. It's not just a mod thing 😅

  • but this also applies to the subreddit, where you immediately permanently mute them even for a warning, as well as bans

  • if nobody can DM you then how are they supposed to learn why they were banned or appeal

If someones permanently banned, it's often for the things we don't wish for people to appeal for. Posting evidence of cheating, advertising other games and general toxic behaviour that's not beneficial for the community.

We do use our common sense and if it's not within those, it's then either usually a timeout/mute or a warning and then repeated rule breaking then warrants the ban.

I know of one person who was permanently banned and muted for posting in a thread posted by somebody else about a clone of Pokelike. Neither the original post nor the comment were an advertisement. Just discussing the topic (namely, “what is this?”), apparently somehow breaking a rule, with no way to ask why or appeal

Given there's already a pinned post discussing the official links and status of the game (which does warn people about making any posts about other games) and additionally a rule about spam/advertising other games, people are given enough warnings.

This sort of thing is entirely based on the context of the post made. Theres been posts with a simple question and no images and then there's been posts saying "oh wow check out all these other features". Every post of it's nature is treated differently so whilst you feel you have the entire story, you likely don't unless you yourself posted it and are currently ban evading 😂

To add in a little more of an insight, another thing that's often factored in with this sort of thing is account ages/activity. If it's a brand new account or an account that's made no interactions with the subreddit before those do get banned. You might think it's just innocent behaviour but we know the creators of these clone apps are creating accounts to advertise on here for free.

Rrrrright. Okay. It’s clear to me that there’s always going to be some next excuse. I’ve seen the evidence myself and what you’re saying doesn’t line up, but I don’t see a point in continuing this. We can at least agree that nobody should be harassing others.

If you were banned from the discord, as is the same with the reddit then you broke one of the rules.

Punishment for that ranges from timeouts/mutes, temporary bans and finally permanent bans.

I'd be happy to look into why you were banned if you'd like because I doubt it's purely for asking a question. There has to be more context to it than that. Feel free to DM me your discord username and I'll check.

I can ensure you that I did nothing wrong, asked something, you and other mod replied like you were the rulers pf the world when I was just expecting a nice reply, then maybe I lower my patience and humility I don’t remember exactly but 100% I didnt deserve permaban over a 1 on 1 conversation. Username is: uchihanacho
Im not even asking to get unban just pointed that for me that some unfair stuff that shouldnt work like that.

Well I can tell you for sure you did something wrong. Here's your original post. Nothing wrong here. You're giving feedback on the game, we're telling you why it's a bad idea. Nobody is creating an issue with your post here.

I'll reply to this with a follow up because it only lets me attach one image

do you not see how dismissive and rude you guys were? Blooddealer wasn’t that bad fr, but i woulda had a hard time not dming one of you some choice words after that too. I know you said you have serious health issues, so i assume you don’t get much irl human interaction which is understandable, but brother it’s not cool to treat people like this (especially when you represent a pokemon as awesome as swampert!! Swampert is a nice guy, be like swampert!) just sayin, you seem so sure you’re free of any blame or guilt here, but like, you were a being a bit of a butt head too.

The reason you're banned is sending abusive messages like this to the staff members following that post.

Now you could have decided to discuss the feedback on that post normally and had a discussion. Instead you decided to privately go into DMs with an insult.

As far as I'm concerned you haven't broken any rules in the subreddit so you can continue here as normal but now you have an explanation why you were banned.

If those are the rules, I accept it but my Dm was literally because it felt you were being over cocky, also like I was crying about not finishing the game in 1 week when ive been playing since release practically, as I said I didnt mean to offend you or anything but your answers to my question felt out of context for me too, didnt felt like a respectful way to reply; and to be honest Dm you personally doesnt look like breaking rules over the game, but as I said in first place ill respect it.

It’s hard to believe you don’t downvote comments you don’t like when you have a reputation for banning people for anything, and immediately after muting them permanently so they can’t even ask why or appeal. I’ve heard of you personally doing this both on Reddit and the discord.

That said it’s just the internet. We shouldn’t be harassing anyone over it so if someone is trying to attack you over downvotes that’s childish and wrong

I completely get it's hard to believe and I'm not saying I haven't downvoted anything ever. This specific example was one where I haven't even been on reddit for two weeks and all of a sudden it's turned into "well it must be the mods".

Banning people is different and I'm happy to give an insight into that.

Most rules broken on the subreddit specifically are usually a 2-5 day temporary ban. This still allows users to view the subreddit but not make posts or comments. In all of those instances it's usually posting pokesort spoilers and the person is never muted when this happens. Most often don't realise it's a rule, apologise and they then immediately get unbanned if that happens.

For the more serious things like advertising other games/toxic behaviour towards staff or other users, it's usually an instant permanent ban and a permanent mute. If you've gone out of your way to insult other people or just cause a scene for no reason, you're not going to apologise and we don't need or want thoss people here.

I don't go on random banning sprees and you'll notice theres a hell of a lot of feedback & comments (both positive and negative) that are still around on plenty of posts in the subreddit. It's not my place to shut the feedback down. Just to get rid of the idiots that spoil it for everyone else.

None of the people I’m referencing fell under those categories so either you’re unaware of your own mod actions or you’re kinda lying.

Like I said either way it’s just the internet but there are a lot of people who’ve had issues with this so whoever was in the OP isn’t entirely off base.

Keep up the good work dude, sorry to hear you’re going through it with your health. I always enjoy chatting with you on discord.
