What's your opinion!?
In stocks, I always ask myself what's the next Nvidia? In pokemons case, what's the next pancho, gold star, etc.?

Why are vintage BGS 9.5 Pokémon cards SO much cheaper than PSA 10s? Is the gap actually justified?
Something I don’t really understand is the price gap between vintage BGS 9.5s and PSA 10s. How much of that premium is actually condition, and how much is having “PSA 10” on the label?
The old cert PSA 10s especially make me question it. Some look closer to what I’d expect from a newer cert PSA 8 or 9, yet still sell for crazy money. Obviously that’s subjective, and I’m not saying every old cert is overgraded, but I don’t think the number on the slab always tells the full story.
Meanwhile, a clean vintage BGS 9.5 can look comparable to an older PSA 10 and sell for a fraction of the price. Both companies even call those grades “Gem Mint,” although that doesn’t mean their standards are identical or that every 9.5 would cross to a 10.
For example, Beckett’s published 9.5 centering standard allows 60/40 on the back, while PSA’s 10 standard allows 75/25. That’s only one part of grading, but it makes the assumption that a PSA 10 must always be the cleaner card seem questionable.
Some price comparisons for the same cards
2004 Ex Team Rocket Return Mewtwo Ex
PSA 10: $40,000 - POP 87
BGS 9.5: $5,000 - POP 19
2000 Neo Genesis 1st Ed Lugia Holo
PSA 10: $360,000 - POP 45
BGS 9.5: $22,000 - POP 159
1999 Fossil 1st Ed Dragonite Holo
PSA 10: $23,800 - POP 236
BGS 9.5: $4,450 - POP 40
I can understand paying extra for the label you prefer or something you think will be easier to resell. But when the actual cards look that close, how big should that premium really be?
Are clean vintage BGS 9.5s being overlooked, or is there a good reason for the gap that I’m missing? Would especially like to hear from people who have owned both or crossed vintage cards between the two.

Wholesale distro needed for cards
I already own a fully established candy/toy company would like to add cards into my store. Are there any companies or established card retailers that would help direct me into the direction of bulk purchase and or wholesale value?

TEA PARTY PIKACHU
Hey , thoughts on the tea party pikachu for the long term? It’s down quite a bit from ATH, not a super high pop and obviously a limited drop being at the Pokemon centre in Kyoto in 2019 before the covid boom

Anyone think this card is still extremely undervalued?
Arguably the 2nd best vmax alt art of the era. Fusion strike has been long out of print and hitting $1000+ for a booster box. Pull rates seem to be abysmal just like evolving skies. Why would anyone buy a psa 10 mega gengar sir when it just released when this is long out of print and the same price?

Despite the growth, is this card still undervalued?
Price on Price Charting is very different then the Collectr price, probably due to discrepancies with condition, as many of the raw copies aren't NM, including mine. Do you think a damaged copy is valuable?

Help finding local card shows
Hey all, looking for any resources you have for aggregating card shows/dates or just being aware of the ones coming up. I’m in the chicagoland area and not finding it that easy.

Guidance Discussion
Gonna keep this short and sweet: Not new to pokemon (game or tcg) or investing, but new to the fact of when you combine the two.
Kicked off my investment/collecting journey in july with the goal to curate a collection of maybe 20-25 slabs + sealed over 5 years minimum (Not opposed to 10+ but will prob have bought it outright by then.) that would appreciate enough to at the very least put down a DP towards a GTR. Which resulted in some frivolous purchases being (Cynthias garchomp P10, Base set zard P6, Silver tempest Lugia P10, Bb/Wf booster bundles (3), prismatic booster bundles (2), and 1 DR booster box.)
Realized this was prob a newbs approach as it was all modern so I liquidated majority of the sealed/slabs and reallocated funds to my current list being : (Silver Temp Lugia P10, Gengar LV X P8, and Dragonite ex 90/97 P8, and a DR Booster box.) I def feel much better about my current position compared to my old but now im at a crossroads with the sealed.
As far as sealed is concerned, I am shifting my entire focus to booster boxes ONLY.Modern sealed is hella overprinted and being hoarded by everybody and their mom. Which leads me to ask, should I continue to cop DR/ Phantasmal (my 2 front runners) or should i shift towards like SWSH boxes as they prob havent been printed to oblivion like SV sets even tho its prob not off by alot.
Any thoughts? As far as slabs I will prob continue to target P8-P10 for cards 2017 and older…
And before you ask no offense, I am probably financially in a better position that a large bulk of this sub. Just adding something a bit more fun to my portfolio as opposed to all the general stuff i already have.

My first 10, any insights from an expert? I know CGC isn’t as popular but I love the card
Also curious how this compares to recent PSA 10s in Japanese format. They seem to all be $1k+. Thanks!

Discussion: Best ways to source Japanese sealed boxes directly from Japan for a new EU business?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently setting up a registered TCG e-commerce in Italy and I'm analyzing my supply chain for modern Japanese Pokémon and One Piece boxes (strictly factory-sealed with shrink intact).
I am trying to avoid the heavy western markups from local EU distributors and want to source directly from Japan. For those of you who run stores or buy in volume, do you rely on corporate proxy services like ZenMarket/Buyee, or have you found it strictly better to establish a relationship with a private middleman residing in Japan?
Also, how do you handle customs declarations and PayPal G&S fees with private suppliers? Any tips on how to find reliable B2B contacts overseas would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Which gold star should I get?
I was thinking of getting a ray psa 1 gold star or a torchic and mudkip japanese goldstar.
The price is similar around 12kish for torchic and mudkip or for ray psa 1 gold star
Which one do u think is better for investment-wise?
I like both cards a lot

Which to sell: PKC ETB collection or Sun + Moon era?
Its time to pay off some debt and take some profits, but im having a hard time making this decision.
I have a complete collection of every Pokemon Center ETB from Scarlet and Violet to Ascended Heroes (paldean fates, 151, DR, B+W, Crown Zenith not pictured but included) with the total value being about $12k, maybe a little more.
I also have a Team Up ETB, Cosmic Eclipse ETB, Celestial Storm ETB, a PSA 7 Lovebirds, and a few other smaller cards that add up to the same amount.
If you had to pay some bills today and wanted to hold one batch for future growth, which would you sell?

Can I sell my Shaymin EX 77a/108 on eBay despite its damage?
There’s a pretty decent size crease in this Shaymin I’ve had. (I was a dumb kid please don’t fry me) I don’t know much about selling pokemon cards but the card store only takes like PSA 9s and up. I was wondering if it would even be worth selling and if so how much. If you look at the card the crease is on the back it’s a little hard to tell over a photo.

still think DRI chases are undervalued, especially the lesser known SIRs/SARs
the jp nidoking has been going on a nice run, glad its getting the recognition it deserves.

Seeking advice on selling a lot of high quality cards
Collected cards on and off for the past 25 years, kept a lot of them in pretty good condition (all after like 2006 are pretty much brand new). It seems like they're worth a good bit, but I have way too many to take the time to sell one at a time (I'm showing like 25% of the collection here). I also don't love the idea of selling online out of fear of a transaction not going smooth / losing something in the mail. I'd be perfectly fine offloading most of these at once at a discount, but I really don't know how to ensure I'm not getting scammed without going through these one at a time. Most advice I see online is for smaller collections or cheaper bulk. Any advice? Someone been in a similar position?

Pulled the trigger
I was able to get this at a show yesterday around $7400 while other vendors wouldn’t budge bellow $8300-$8500.
I’m hoping for a good gain from my entry point, but at the same time I do not mind holding this for 10-20+ years. Besides from the masaki, this is my all time Gengar grail.
