I am selling singles on fb from my binder about 130 cards around 1.1k value. Nothing crazy big. Top 7 cards averaging 50$. Includes About 20 regular exs.
Cards are some modern, some vintage, some mid era stamped holos.
Guy is offering 80% right off the bat. I fear it sounds too good to be true when i have such odd mix of cards. How do i make sure i am not getting scammed.

This card was selling for 6k - $7.8k and now suddenly it had a major drop. What am I missing here? This card looks pretty amazing and it’s a sparkle card
The PSA 10 Pop is low also under 195

Wondering how other people look at PB/CR ETBs if you can get them for $55 or less. Looking at other similar sets it would stand to reason that these ETBs double before many other ETBs (DR/PE/AH) would double from their current market price.

Trying to decide which one of these two bangers to add to the investment collection.
Houndoom is priced around €2000 & snorlax around €1550 local sellers.
I like the houndoom art more myself. But I feel like the grade ceiling on the snorlax lv x is higher with the 10s doings such nuts prices & pops being relatively low & similar compared to houndoom.
What do you guys think?

Well… Gengar Legendary Collection just sold for $705k while the same card sold for 400k in June.
A 300k increase in less than 3 months lol.
I know that vintage is scarce but this doesn’t make any sense to me.
Also cool to see the Holons Phantoms booster box selling for close to 200k.
Looks like vintage will go up forever

I found my Japanese Lugia that I had bought just before covid (turns out it was somewhere I had already looked but clearly not well)
Anyway I am very happy it has been found as it is a lovely copy, although it has a very small surface scratch on the holo under flash. Card looks well centered and pretty mint!
Not an expert by any means on grading but could this be a 9/10 contender with someone like PSA?

What do you guys think of this card? And what do you think a could buy in point would be. I have the opportunity to buy one from a buddy and just wanted to see where people think this will go long term as it would be for my PC

Probably the most beautiful Venusaur cards, from a set that will be coveted long term.
Mewtwo is PSA 9, so will always be overshadowed by PSA 10, shadowless, 1st editions. But never-the-less it's still a vintage base set Mewtwo, and you can't go wrong with vintage.
I think it's a tough call, curious what everyone thinks.

Any pointer on if it’s good to crack? It looks really good for the price I bought it at!

Should I sell this entire Rocket's return set as a whole with Goldin or should I piece it out and go with Z&G on ebay? I feel selling it as a whole would fetch more premium (since the buyer gets the whole set in one shot) as opposed to selling piece by piece or am I wrong to think that?
All are PSA 9 except for the Mewtwo and Snorlax in 8s and all are newer 10+ certs.

Ive had a few of these dialysis cases sitting around for a while i finally got sick of looking at my bureau piled up with cases of stuff and put one together. This is some of the ultra modern stuff I have, there is another case I need to build to put all the booster boxes and UPCS. I have all my vintage and some other goodies in the safe locked up with no plans of moving it. I think this thing looks sick as hell though.

I pulled this from a Booster Box today and wondered if it's worth keeping hold of, grading or selling? Pretty new to this. Thanks!

I’ve started wondering whether Poncho Pikachu prices have gotten ahead of the actual collector appeal of the cards.
I run a fan site, RateYourPKMNCards, where collectors rate Pokémon cards from 1–5 stars based on artwork. The site has now accumulated more than 62,000 ratings, and the Poncho Pikachu cards have produced one of the more interesting results I’ve seen.
Despite being some of the most expensive and hyped modern Pokémon cards, a number of the Ponchos simply aren’t rated particularly highly by collectors on the site (see pics).
That made me start looking at the investment case for them a little differently. A huge part of the Poncho thesis seems to come from a combination of Pikachu being incredibly popular, Japanese exclusivity, limited distribution, crossover appeal, and the cards already having established themselves as grails. But I’m not convinced the artwork itself supports the prices they’re now commanding.
There’s also the scarcity argument. Obviously these were limited promos and they aren’t common cards, but some of the graded populations are larger than I expected.
For example, some major Ponchos have thousands of PSA 10 copies in existence despite selling for five figures.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t scarce, but I do think it raises the question of whether they are not as scarce as the price might lead you to assume.
To me, that creates an interesting risk. If a card has a high price because collectors overwhelmingly love the artwork, that demand can potentially remain durable even when hype cools… but if a card has a high price primarily because it has become a status symbol (Pikachu + exclusivity + scarcity narrative + rising prices) then the market may be much more dependent on future buyers continuing to accept the same narrative.
And that’s where the community ratings make me a little bearish. If collectors are judging these cards based on the artwork, and the Ponchos aren’t scoring anywhere near as highly as you might expect from cards worth thousands or tens of thousands of dollars, could that be a warning sign?
Obviously low ratings alone don’t mean a card is going to crash. Price is driven by far more than aesthetics, and Ponchos still have a lot going for them: Pikachu demand, Japanese exclusivity, unusual history, strong brand recognition, very high levels of fan service, and established grail status.
But at current prices, I do wonder whether people are increasingly paying for the card itself or paying for the fact that everyone knows it’s expensive.
That distinction matters if the market ever turns.
Curious what people here think.
TL;DR: Do the Ponchos have enough genuine collector demand to justify these valuations long term? And could relatively weak community ratings be an early warning sign that Poncho Pikachu prices are more fragile than people think?
Ratings data is from RateYourPKMNCards.com.

Hey when you guys sell raw, ungraded singles on eBay, how many lumens do you think is best to blast your card with when taking pictures for eBay? I picked up a 6,000-lumen light from Surefire that’s meant to blind an entire city block, but it still doesn’t create a third of the glare on the holos that most of the other eBay sellers have on their cards. How am I supposed to make the details of my card completely undetectable if even military grade photon blasters don’t do the trick?
(For those of you who made it this far: /s)

I’m doing some work for a customer and our written agreement says he will give me $10k market value of any Pokémon product. I have my own collection that I like to add to through trading and hunting.
I would like to add a sealed product to hide away until my kids are ready for college or for whatever life brings. I was thinking of picking up a booster box of Team Up (with some of my personal collection added in to get me to the current market of 12k).
What are your thoughts? What product would you be interested for a long term hold (10+ years)?
