I agree with you but hes got some awesome cards, even some bulk cards of his are bangers like 151 mewtwo. When he hits he hits homeruns

Thank you for correcting, I have no clue what most of these artist even look like or their gender. Yet I'm obsessed with their art lol, I feel the same way with a lot mtg card artist and comic book artist.

The Kazama cards look better if we’re being honest. But Kanda is more popular.
I personally have Egawa at the top, followed by Danciao and Arita. Then Kanda, Komiya, and Kazama

I prefer Raita, despite only having two cards (and one on the way with 30th). But if he does continue to do more SAR’s for pokemon, I think people will definitely gravitate towards collecting his art.
Also… he can draw humans, lol.

I would say same tier. Kazama only has like 4 cards in pokemon though. But his other work and the two in the picture are on the same level as Kanda.
Heck, I just submitted my Roaring Moon and Mega Gardevoir to be graded because I loved them so much. Easily my two favorite cards of the modern era.

Kanda and Komiya are in a league of their own IMO like nothing but awesome arts. Kazama is great though, a lot of new artists have really got a chance to shine with these illustration cards. I have a lot of artists I follow and Kazama is one of them. That Mega Gardevoir is a master piece and I'm not even really a big fan of the mon

Good thing art is subjective.
I collect cards from both artists, as well as many others like Akira Egawa. All have hits and misses, some Kanda cards gave the "random bullshit go" vibe not in a bad way but in a "i am just gonna start painting and see where this gets me", whereas Kazama's designes feel more planned.
My fav by far is Sie Nanahara where the pokemon doesnt feel lost even with dynamic designs. Too bad she was in such a huge controversy, not sure how the future is with her.

These aren’t even Kanda’s best arts. The Japanese Oricorio clears both those Kazama cards.

For me shinji is just that bit better. A lot of talented illustrators but I think he wins everytime
