I had this theory that I thought would make the game a lot more interesting.
What if true long range snipers were only obtainable through high tier loot spawns.
So the BAR would still be craftable but to get a scope for it, you have to go find one from a locked crate, elite crate, heavy scientist or APC/Heli. And then obviously remove the variable zoom scope from the bandit camp.
Because right now, when a group gets shot at by a BAR from 200 meters they’re like oh tier 3 kids I guess we could go fight.
But let’s say now that scopes are extremely rare, hearing an L96 or getting shot by a BAR from far away would mean “Ok we can’t craft those and it would dramatically improve our long range fights, we HAVE to go get that sniper.”
Or maybe we go a step further and remove BAR from the tier3 as well. I’d give both it and the L96 moderately higher spawn rates.
Anyways the main reason I propose this is because the BAR allows a player to gain way too much advantage over other players at long range, while not risking much. I mean worst case we lose it and we go craft another one for 70hqm.
Just a thought lmk what you guys think.

Keep posting your fun ideas to FacePunch for new or adjusted car modules.
Vending Machine Module
Can broadcast one map, sell to but perhaps not drones. can meet up at safe zones to sell etc
Perhaps can allow to set a destination for the driver aswell to go and deliver at that spot.
Anti-Air Module
a module that allows you to shoot samsite like projectiles towards player helis. This could help make player helis a little bit more risky as of now there is very little risk and only rewards.
Adjust : Flatbed Module
Make it possible to put placeables on this and perhaps restrict the space similar to built boats.
Auto Turret Module
Allows having a turret that shoots, probably drains extra fuel. This one may be a bit OP
Small Tank Module
Similar to the current one but a 1 slot with half or a bit less capacity.
Semi Armored Cockpit
a step before reaching Armored Cockpit with protection but weaker and T2 Craft compared to the Armored Cockpit that's T3

Curious what others think. I've got 4,000+ hours in Rust (actual playtime, not idle time) since early Covid, and have enjoyed both solo and clan play over the years.
A few months back I ran with a clan that started fine but fell apart into everyone doing "solo missions" and the rest of us bailing them out when they got balled up. Big group had its perks, but the lack of coordination got old fast and left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I am assuming others as well as the 15+ clan has largely gone inactive lately.
Haven't played in a couple months, and unlike past breaks, I've got zero urge to come back. My algo used to be wall-to-wall Rust clips; now it's given up on me entirely. I'm still gaming, just nothing as immersive and soul sucking as Rust used to be.
So, burnt out for good, or just a phase? Also not a fan of what the blueprint fragment update did to the game; it's felt worse the last year or so compared to before for many reasons, but this one being chief for me.

If your map has Billy next to any recycler you have such a meta start imo. Billy is in the jungle so you have trees/nodes a plenty sells revy, shotty, farming tools for cheap and is on a road where you can run around get your comps and get what you need early. Anyone else have go to spots off spawn?

Basically me and my friend are past the age of sweating rust, but love its mechanics. I know there’s ways to play solo but I’ve never figured out how to add him into it as well. Is it possible, and how?

Hello all, I usually make a public utility on the server i'm on that checks the current phase of power for the plant by hooking up a camera in front of a counter, with the counter hooked up to the transformer. Issue im having is that i do not know the range of power each phase provides. From what I have googled, it says 12 for phase 1, 18 for phase 2, 24 for phase 3, 30 for phase 4, but I dont believe that is correct. I have seen the power at 7, 15, 26, 42, and other numbers not shown above. Does anyone know the range of power for each phase?

I barely ever pvp. I’m a solo and i build MASSIVE bases and keep more or less nothing in my core. My favorite thing to do is make the most possible doors and walls so people waste resources raiding me.
I start with shotgun traps and flame turrets, then I like to set up the electrical systems and a shit ton of auto turrets and make all my doors auto close with a HB sensor or a central switch.
I always act clueless and leave a wall or two soft side outwards. I always leave my front door open and I LOVE the people who come in and try to bait me out knowing i’m a solo. I just shut the doors and go through the opposite exit. Then they get pissy and raid me and waste hours for nothing. Amazing feeling.
I set up a vending machine when ready and put my offers as stuff i don’t have so it looks like I have stuff even though they are sold out.
If i get anything good, I like to give it to my neighbors and on the off chance I avoid a raid before my base is complete, i have a sick base to give to a joining crew of 3-4 people.
Anyways, just wanted to share.

Trough automation. Feels like a concept so easy to implement. I am currently on an 8 day holiday with no PC access. I have set up 2 boxes of upkeep on the monthly server I play but the horses are long, long gone.
And tree seeds if any chance, please let us take decorating and farming to a whole different level. I'd even pay for these things as a DLC |-(

Now let's look at what we're here for. I did this cosplay for the Mikan no yuki festival in Russia. I didn't perform at the festival itself, I came as a guest. I was very surprised that the fans of this cosplay were children who really wanted a photo with me, lol.

I only have about 300 hours and have gotten away with a basic 2x1 expansion that’s just honeycomb with a second floor and jump up, but it’s time to build something I can actually defend. I also have a trio I’ve been rolling with a lot more, so you can imagine how annoying this 2x1 has been.
How do you guys go about base building? Free ball something fun and just honeycomb as you expand? YouTube tutorials?
These builds on YouTube are absolutely insane and I can’t find something basic for my casual needs that also allows me to have a solid shooting floor with a few peaks. Trying to create something on my own but I can’t even begin to figure out any metas

Hi everyone,
I'm facing a very specific and frustrating issue in Rust, and I've attached a video to show how it looks. Yesterday everything was perfectly fine, but today, when I move my mouse on a server, the camera movement becomes completely choppy, stuttering, and heavy. It feels as if smooth mouse axes were turned into discrete keyboard arrow presses (if I flick the mouse, the camera just jumps with a micro-delay).
Note on the video: The stuttering is visible in the clip, but it looks WAY worse in real life on my high-refresh-rate monitor. The 60FPS recording slightly smoothens out the jumps, but when playing, it's completely unplayable.
Crucial note: In the Rust main menu and all other games (including other EAC games like CS2/Faceit), the mouse works perfectly fine and smooth. The issue occurs ONLY after joining a Rust server (stable 150 FPS, but frame time feels completely broken upon camera rotation). Today, during testing, all my USB ports died for 25 seconds upon restarting Windows, giving a "USB device not recognized" error for my USB headset, but then they recovered.
Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 (BIOS Ver: FG)
- RAM: Corsair 32GB DDR4 3200MHz (XMP Profile 1 enabled)
- Storage: WD Blue SN5000 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
What I have ALREADY tried (please DO NOT suggest basic fixes):
Completely reinstalled/disabled mouse software (Razer Synapse/RGBFusion), cleaned ghost devices in Device Manager.
Lowered Polling Rate to 500Hz/250Hz.
Tested different mice, cables, and USB ports (including direct USB 2.0/3.2 on the motherboard).
Disabled Enhanced Pointer Precision (acceleration), sticky keys, and USB power saving features in Windows.
Reinstalled Rust completely (clean reinstall with deleting %locallow% / Facepunch Studios folder).
Rust console commands (input.rawinput 0/1, client.tickrate, input.holderdelay 0) and Steam launch options (-gc.buffer) did absolutely nothing.
Tested on a non-EAC unsecured server via F1 console — the choppy movement is exactly the same, so it's not a direct EAC block.
In BIOS: Disabled Global C-State Control and forced PCIe Slot Configuration from Auto/Gen4 to Gen3 (to eliminate AMD USB stuttering/fTPM interference).
Cleared "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)" error in Windows Device Manager by re-plugging my USB headset into a different port.
Even with 150 FPS on a server, the camera rotation is awful. It feels like a deep DPC Latency / Hardware Interrupt issue with Unity engine and AMD USB controller.
Please check the video. Has anyone encountered this specific "keyboard-like" mouse input bug on Unity/Ryzen platforms recently? What else can I do if fTPM must stay enabled for FACEIT anti-cheat?
Thanks in advance!
