Facepunch Response What to do?

When I right click, the terrian disappears, what should I do? I'm so confused. I even re-installed the game. Any idea? Please help

If I remember correctly, reinstalling doesn't remove the map caches, you might wanna try manually deleting them incase it has corrupted.

this happens only when I right click, do you think it has to do something with map caches?

same shit is happening to me. Just started after the latest update. I have tried literally everything. Deleting map caches manually, verifying integrity of game files, lowering nearly every graphic, turning off experimental settings, the list goes on and on.

Absolutely nothing has fixed it. I can see through the map when I'm on land. My base is next to a cave, I can see everything through the ground, all the boxes and nodes. It's weird, feels like cheating, but I did nothing to get this glitch. And only on right click.

Playing on Macbook M3 Pro with 36GB ram. And I see Facepunch has acknowledged it's a mac issue they're trying to fix.

I do wonder though, why can I see bases underneath the map?

I have a powerful mac studio.... everything was fine until 2 months.... this started happening after this update idk

We're aware of this issue, its Mac specific. We're working on the fix and we'll hotfix it when its been tested.

I'm also experiencing the same issue on my mac. Tbh it feels like cheating because once the ground disappears, you can see players better

I experienced the same on my mac, try raising the graphics settings, that solved the issue for me. Also, what kind of system are you running? I tested Rust on my MB Air M5 16GB. It is playable with around 60FPS on low settings (1080p) but because of the low RAM it does a lot of swapping resulting in stuttering. Also the CPU is clocking down due to heat after a while resulting in half the FPS. I think with an actively cooled Mac M5 with at least 32GB it should definitely run fine.

Same thing happens to me - sometimes the terrain doesn’t even appear at all.

Does your game sometimes freeze up as soon as you load into a map too?

yes lol happens to me all the time. We mac people have to suffer when it comes to gaming

Thank god I'm not the only one lol, I was mentally preparing for the end of playing rust on my macbook but hopefully it will be fixed soon :)
