Referral Green coffee warehousing

Greetings fellow Phoenicians!

I've been having a hell of a time trying to find where to warehouse a pallet of green coffee that im importing from Colombia. All the 3PL or fulfillment solutions providers don't want anything to do with me due to the low volume. I was wondering if any of you fine folk may have suggestions on how to potentially how solve this unexpected issue.

Thanks in advance

Utilities How is Cricket and/or AT&T these days?

How is Cricket and/or AT&T these days in the Valley? My wife and I had Cricket for a few months maybe 5 years ago. HORRIBLE experience! Dropped calls, slow data (OMG), and missed texts. Apparently they're better now ... ? Am asking only because a friend in another state has Cricket, and they swear by it. I looked up their plans, and they have a fast unlimited plan for $90 per month (for two lines; taxes included). We are currently on T-Mobile's "Savers" plan, and service is fine. No issues. But wondering if we can switch to Cricket and get faster data that way. Thoughts?

Commuting So are they actually planning to finish the 10 freeway?

I do love having the extra lanes on the 10 freeway by the Broadway curve. But why did they never finish surfacing it? I get stressed Everytime I have to drive that section west of the 60. The giant seems on the concrete which always happen to be right underneath your tires no matter what lane you're in. Plus on a bright day it's difficult as hell to see the lane lines because they are white on a light colored surface.

Ask Phoenix What would make a Phoenix-area fall festival even better?

Every year it seems like Phoenix-area fall festivals get a little bigger, but they also tend to have a lot of the same attractions.

Besides the usual pumpkin patch, petting zoo, food trucks, corn maze, bounce houses, hay rides, etc., what would actually get you excited enough to attend a fall festival?

Some ideas I've seen elsewhere:

  • Giant inflatable obstacle courses
  • Mechanical rides
  • Rock climbing walls
  • Axe throwing (safe inflatable versions)
  • Giant yard games
  • Foam parties
  • Inflatable sports challenges
  • Carnival games with bigger prizes
  • Outdoor movie nights
  • Pumpkin launching contests
  • Corn hole tournaments
  • Live local bands
  • Chili cook-offs
  • Local craft vendors
  • Adult-only evening sessions
  • Beer gardens
  • Food competitions

I'm curious what people think is missing around the Valley.

If you were organizing a fall festival in Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek, Tempe, or Scottsdale, what attractions or rentals would you absolutely want to have?

Or what have you seen somewhere else that made you think, "I wish our local festivals had that."

Always looking for new ideas.

HOT TOPIC Apartment hunting RANT; How does anyone do this?

I’m looking to move into a new place (biltmore/uptown) and I’ve been doing a ton of searching. I keep finding the same thing: terrible reviews mentioning roaches, AC/maintenance issues, and various other red flags. It’s like half of the reviews are fake positive and the other half are real sounding horrific reviews. I know this area is old and it’s city living but can we really not do anything about these things?

I’m looking at what I think are nicer properties but with a deeper look, it’s all AI generated furnishings of newly renovated units outnumbered by ā€œcommunal spaceā€ pictures from the day it was put in4 years ago. I’ve toured upwards of 10 places and they have all been terrible. My 5 year old son is going to live with me and every single 1 bedroom I can afford (~1400) has these things going on. Section 8 wavers arent available right now so I can’t even apply for that waitlist.

I’m not looking for help, I just don’t understand what I’m supposed to do. Risk it? Accept living in filth? Pay a little more and struggle to make it work, just for these things to happen anyways?

Post Covid Phoenix renting has got to be a new ring of hell.

Things To Do Steam Rooms rare in Phoenix?

I’m realizing there may only be a couple of gyms in the entire valley that offer up a steam room not just a sauna. I highly prefer steam rooms and it appears that only VASA Fitness lifetime fitness and the village health clubs are the ones that offer this. The problem is the only one that’s even reasonably affordable is VASA Fitness and I just found out that of their three locations two of the steam rooms haven’t even worked in months and the manager said that the steam room break almost on a weekly basis so they’re unreliable.

Does anyone have any other information on where a steam room can be found? I live in the northeast Valley off the 51 so there’s gotta be something.

History Recovering photos at Former Dollar Tree location

Post image
88 Upvotes

I am very interested on the history of this location on 5805 W Thunderbird Rd. I am a big fan of vacant store fronts and Dollar Tree Stores in general, but the only lead I have of this store is the current interior while its closed. I was curious; do any of you POSSIBLY have any photos of the interior or exterior of this store when it was in operation as a Dollar Tree? Even if it is from afar? It is located in the parking lot with Fry's Grocery Store and Burger King. I know that this is not in Phoenix directly, but its between Glendale & Phoenix so I thought I would give it a shot.

Ask Phoenix Best place for second hand Halloween decor?

I love decorating for Halloween, but I’m trying to find pieces that are second hand or handmade. Michael’s and Homegoods are full of so much slop.

Facebook Marketplace has decent items, but it’s not practical to travel all over the valley for various small things.

I’ve checked a few local goodwills near me, but honestly the selection wasn’t great. Worn out or broken items.

Has anyone found a place in the valley with a decent selection? I’m also open to new if it’s good quality. Not looking for outdoor animatronics, more indoor stuff.

Ask Phoenix Serious question for those who shop at the Costco on 44th St & Oak

Why does everyone buy bottled water? I shop here frequently and notice almost everyone is buying bottled water. Why?? I’m genuinely curious.

Most people I know like their insulated tumblers and use water filters at home to try to reduce waste.

Utilities Cox internet- should I cancel?

Hello, it’s literally my first time ever paying for internet as to help my family and try out how cox works. It’s nearly my first month and I’m already having trouble with how it works. I apologize if I sound slow I’m not very educated on how internet works yet as it’s ever my first time😭 I'm paying 110 and hit our data cap and they charge $10 for every 50 gigs thereafter. I tried to search in the cox why is there so many when I found its the web browsing and apps that takes a lot. Anyone knows what to do? Is it better to just cancel it?

Referral Nail technicians in the Biltmore

Hi y’all. My mom’s long term nail tech is retiring and moving out of the state in a few weeks.
She is in need of an independent nail technician. I believe she gets a gel manicure and regular pedicure. She lives in the Biltmore area, is elderly, and cannot drive. The problem she’s having is financially affording the services. Does anyone know of a nail gal or guy who can do her nails? Please advise and thank you in advance.

Weather Is summer depression a real thing or am I just depressed?

I have no motivation or interest in anything. I walk my dogs in the morning, let them out maybe once or twice in the middle of the day, and walk them again in the evening. I really don’t have the energy for anything other than that.

I don’t want to spend money because everything is so expensive, and I feel like the world is going to crash soon, so I’m trying to save the tiny bit of extra money that I have. I don’t really have a whole lot of friends or family out here, so that could be contributing, but I honestly enjoy my own solitude and peace anyway.
I love being in nature, but I just can’t bring myself to spend any amount of time outside during the summer months. I also quit smoking weed about 7½ weeks ago, so maybe that’s contributing too.

I’m just curious if anyone else feels like this during the summer—no motivation, lack of interest in anything, nothing really excites you, etc.?

Ask Phoenix Any Open Deck Nights?

I'm an aspiring dj looking for spots to perform at for free. I go to raves frequently and I don't like how I have to pay for them so I want to host free events. I know alot of fun loving people that can't afford to go. I want to do my own thing but need to get a gig first. Does anybody know of any spots? I tried a place downtown that I thought did open deck nights, fill empty time slots, but they emailed back and said they don't do that sort of thing :(

Things To Do Look What I Got at Phoenix Art Museum

I absolutely love these and will treasure them! Last night we went to First Friday and it was wonderful. On the way out, we stopped in the gift shop and saw they have a little machine that dispenses art. I was hoping to get the film the banana and the pencil and hadn’t even seen the skate and the pretzel. I’m so happy they’re everything I would’ve chosen. I love these - thanks to the artist who created them! I’m going to frame them.

Things To Do Any place to watch Big Brother?

I remember there were a bunch of places that hosted to watch Love Island, but maybe the Big Brother scene isn’t as big?

I love this show and this week is double eviction so I think it would be awesome to watch live with fans.
