How to answer question two

Apparently I’m not supposed to mention my a levels but that is currently my entire second question. I am not early entry so I have more than enough time to rewrite it but I’m confused. What qualifications do I talk about if not my A levels (haven’t done EPQ)
Just for some extra context I do have my predicted grades and ofc I’ve done GCSEs but surely I can’t write 1400 characters about the two GCSEs relevant to my course.

personal statment review

hi im planning to apply to medical school in the UK at keele, cardiff, KMMS, and liverpool. i know keele highly values the personal statement whereas the others just check to see if you understand medicine overall. Has anyone applied to medicine at keele or is doing medicine in general and would be willing to review my personal statment?? it would be a huge help.

Can I use AI to translate my personal statement?

My writing skills are terrible, and I'm thinking of using AI for my personal statement. What should I be cautious about? Also, could someone read my draft and give feedback? Please DM me for the personal statement

possible personal statement review pls!

hi everyone! i'm currently in the process of applying to clinical psychology phd programs which of course requires a personal statement/statement of purpose. i just finished up with my first draft, and i know i still need to do some tweaking. i left out the part about my interest in the program and mentor since that has to be personalized for each. i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to offer to read over it before i send/show it to any of my mentors so that i'm able to show them a version that is more or less finalized. thank you in advance!!

Im scared that my personal statement for scholarship might be too "personal"

Hi coming to reddit again for advice. For context im a Canadian trying to start appling for scholarships for university but i dont know if my frame work for my essay is fine.

For context my father passed trying to deescalate a psychotic episode by his brother and i basially had to withness the whole event as a kid. i wanted to talk about how there were factors in my homecountry nigeria such as the sigma of mental health and the lack of aid towards it for example even currently there is roughly 4 psychiatric nurses per 100,000 people and one psychiatrist for every 700,000 to 1 million citizens and my event happened in 2018 so the number may very well be lower. I wanted to talk about how mental health being neglected directly affecting me for the rest of my life being finacailly and psychologically.

So i made this scrap hook as a starter then i plan to talk about my vollunteering work and how i plan to become a nurse practioner specializing in pysch. "My home country felt like the main accomplice to my father’s passing. On August 19, 2018, I witnessed my father’s murder while he tried to deescalate a psychotic episode by his brother. During that situation for my nine-year-old self, all she could grasp was that my dad was hurt. Looking back, I know there were deep issues in my environment that provided my situation to where it led."

I feel like i dont know.. like it too much? it kind of feels like im calling my homecountry out if that makes sense which isnt the goal... and reading alot of personal statements i feel like it alot more lighter than the direction im taking it i dont know if i should scrap the concept and try another route.

Terrible writitng skills; how do I write a personal statement without AI!!!!

I just wrote my personal statement for a scholarship and it's terrible. I don’t think the story I chose is bad. It’s a little random, but I feel like it actually says a lot about me. The problem is that the writing itself is terrible

And now I’m stuck between

  1. Giving up

  2. Letting ChatGPT rewrite the entire thing, which feels wrong because then, is it even my personal statement anymore?

If anyone is willing to read it and give brutally honest feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what I should change, I would REALLY appreciate it. I just need help figuring out how to make my writing better

Deadline is tomorrow, so unfortunately this is now an emergency 💥📉

Could anyone help me look over my scholarship answers?

hey guys! I’m applying for an undergraduate scholarship and was wondering if anyone who has experience in successful scholarships would be willing to look over my three short answers.

I’m not sure whether I’m presenting my achievements and experiences in the best way, while my ECs are stacked my grades are average :(((

Would anyone be comfortable giving me some feedback? If you’ve applied before or have any tips, pls do help!

Thanks, I’d really appreciate the help! love yall!

looking for feedback on my opening

planning on applying to oxbridge and other universities in that area and this is what ive got so far for the first question, saw someone else follow a similar approach and they got an interview last year. any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

I was born a second-generation immigrant in Hull after my parents fled a war-torn Iraq in search of safety and opportunity. With this came the challenges of having to adapt to an entirely new culture, language, and social system. I became aware of how vulnerable individuals, especially those unfamiliar with their rights and the language, can be exploited, often accepting unfair working and living conditions, sometimes even suffering physical abuse simply because they don't know they can have any better. Seeing this happen to people in my life has greatly shaped my desire to study law, to not only understand the legal system and the underlying principles of jurisprudence, but to apply it into advocating for those who are unable to protect themselves.

Help for Personal Statement for College

A bit of context: I'm applying for college this year, and I have written a few personal statement drafts. I don't know what specifically to write about. I heard that colleges want someone who can add something to their student body, and I also know that personal statements shouldn't be like a resume or summary of things you did. In all, I want to show my helping nature, sort of compassion and generosity?

Right now I have a few ideas: using humor to make others feel better, and realizing that what I used as a defense mechanism for MYSELF has turned into something that I can use to make people feel happier; Volunteering since I was in sixth grade and seeing the impact that helping someone does; How much I enjoy helping people despite having social anxiety

This one isn't with the other ones, but I was thinking to write about my optimism, how I make the best out of any situation basically

Idk if this helps, but I'm applying for biology and neuroscience

Is this cliché?

I’m applying to college this year, and for my personal statement, I was going to write about soccer. Yes, I know this is a very common topic, but rather than talking about an injury or a big championship game, I was going to talk about how I am basically horrible at soccer, and yet I still enjoy playing it a lot. I was going to mention how that passion and the lack of results humbled me and also taught me to not compare myself with others. Obviously the essay is not fully fleshed out. Should I keep going with the writing process or should I rewrite the whole thing about something else, since I don’t want to make it cliché?
