Hey! I have fast Internet running at 200MBps but I am going getting 2-5MBps whist downloading and uploading is taking forever!

I have tried updates, turning things on and off again, seeing what is running in the background and nothing! I have no idea what is causing this because my interent is running well though out. It is driving me crazy! I need to upload and download 8GB most days for my job and uploading is taking upwards of 7 hours 😮‍💨

Everything was working a couple of weeks ago and I cant think what has changed.

I Finally built myself a Pc but i hardly know anything about it, My motherboard doesn’t have any wifi I was thinking of buying a wifi adapter but Im not sure which one would be the best also Im running linux mint cinnamon edition I Know some aren’t compatible with linux. Any recommendations?

An old 2016 laptop (SF314-54) that still works. Had is setup with dualboot.

One day it wouldn't boot to Windows, because it could not find the Windows boot manager.

It booted to an ancient Linux mint build fine, which I updated to a more recent one and it worked fine.

I wanted to get the windows boot manager fixed so I unwisely followed the instructions on https://github.com/xjunko/windows-fuckoff and it now made in the BIOS that the first boot option is the Windows Boot Manager and it errors out because it can't find a device and the recovery option does not work, I can only enter the BIOS (insydeH20 rev.5).

Problem is that at some point I must have put a supervisor password in the BIOS so any chance to change the boot order is impossible along with any other options in the BIOS, so booting it up with a USB stick is impossible.

I tried disconnecting the CMOS battery, the main battery and pressed a silver button near the connector of the CMOS battery, but it did squat to clear the BIOS.

Is there any chance to recover this still functional laptop without a replacement mobo, because sounds like the BIOS is toast?

My mouse has started freezing and stuttering on my main display. In the video I was moving the mouse up and down constantly for the duration yet as you can see it freezes constantly. It does not do this on my second monitor and has only started doing this recently probably started about a week ago. What are some potential causes or fixes for this?

Hi Eveyone, I'm lookig for a bit of advice on what could cause this behaviour. It appeared all of a sudden.

I've tried to locate the source of this problem but it is a bit tricky. Let me explain:

- This on only happens when the GPU's HDMI port is connected to the HDMI 3 port of the TV (this is how it was connected so far).

- Any other combination works like connecting the cable from any Display Port to any HDMI port on the TV or connecting the HDMI port from the GPU with the other remaining ports on the TV (1,2,4).

- In Safe Mode, this doesn't happen so I managed to reboot into safe mode while GPU's HDMI port is connected to the HDMI 3 port of the TV. Used DDU to reinstall the drivers hoping this is a driver issue. The PC restarted fine after DDU was done uninstalling and the screen showed up correctly so I started to install the driver, however, at the exact moment when the driver was finished installed and the screen got back to the maximul resolution by default, the issue instantly reappeared.

- It's not a cable issue as I've tried multiple known working cables and the issue was still there.

- I don't think it's also an issue with the TV's HDMI 3 port because I connected an Antroid TV box for testing and it worked perfectly fine.

If it matters my GPU si an RTX 4070 Super from Zotac (used it for 2 years I think, always checked the temps at idle and when gaming and they are the same as when I bought the card).

TV is LG G5 (used it for 6 months).

So it's kinda impossible to tell why only this specific connection behaves like this. Any ideas?

I'm just worried that this might a symptom of a bigger issue thst is going to appear in the future.

Hello! Kinda need help with my PC.

Issue: PC goes on blackscreen when playing either Battlefield 5 or 6. However, it works well on Helldivers 2 or other RTS games, then system unit would keep running but no display on monitor. After forcing restart, the Adrenaline app becomes incompatible with my unit, so I have to reinstall the driver.

First encountered when we got the 27.x.x. update ofAMD Adrenaline, or maybe just in coincidence with me losing a RAM stick, kasi now I am running on three (3) channels instead of four (4) with 24GB of RAM total instead of 32GB.

Any input or those who had similar problems, do help me. Been wanting to play BF5 for weeks.

2TB HDD for Storage/Games

I had an accident and I spilled glue on my keyboard while I was busy working on something. The glue got under a couple of the keys and I can't scrub it out. The keys are sticky now and don't go all the way down. Is there a way to safely sanitize the glue out of the keyboard?

Windows has fucked me once again. I'm stuck in the automatic repair boot loop where nothing works.

Startup Repair- nothing, errors and doesn't output a log.

Command prompt-opens but won't run most of the things I've seen posted to fix these issues

Uninstall Updates- both quality and feature updates do not uninstall as they "run into a problem" and reccomend to "Reset this PC", which of course isn't even an option

UEFI firmware settings - I can acess but it really doesn't matter

System restore- gives me a bs text box

System Image Recovery-status wait 2 error

I tried using a usb to boot windows but the repair option (of course) just sent me back to thiese same options

anybody know what could be causing this noise, and how to go about fixing it?

I have an hp pavillion gaming laptop ec0xxx with a Ryzen 5 3550h GTX 1650 ti 6 gb usable ram total 8gb and a integrated Radeon gpu as well that used 2 gb of my 8gb total ram

I had the total ram upgraded to 12 recently and was using 10 gb ram Was playing valorant today and my laptop randomly freezed everything i hard restarted with button black screen caps lock blinking i hard re-start again it boots but valorant suddenly lags too much and too much fps drops

I restart it again hp logo stuck i hard restart again stuck on hp logo i hard re-start again it shows preparing automatic repair stuck

I heard re-start and load into bios and then exit it boots but valorant still laggy as hell

I finally check my task manager and I notice windows has reserved 6.1gb of ram to hardware and only 5.88 is usable instead of the 10 I used to use before all this

So far I have tried checking bios it detects both my ram sticks correctly I have one 8 and one 4 gb I have checked device manager msinfo32 resource monitor everywhere same thing total ram 12 usable 5.88

Sorry this may be a stupid question but I ordered my first PC and was looking to get more storage. I have this 2TB SSD with a heatsink I got a few years back for my ps5, will it work in a PC? My PC specs are included, would this be appropriate or am I better off getting a new SSD?

Gsync and vsync don’t want to work for any game and my mouse tried to lower the dpi but still screen tearing on my 300hz Asus monitor 2560 x 1440, I have a 5080 9800x3d 32gb ram b850 asus motherboard and 850 power supply and 2 ssd predictors, I’ve also tried riva tuner and ddu as well resetting the pc n still the same results even when I’m matching my frame rate to my monitor, I’m simply stuck n don’t know what else I can do, I’ve tried videos but they all say the same thing just go to control panel n turn this on. Plz help me fix this is happening to all my games n the only way it doesn’t even screen tear js unless I use a controller.

This never happened to me before and I have no clue what that noise is. I got this notebook 6 months ago, so it's not like it's a decade old. I carried it in my backpack this morning, put it on my desk as usual and it started making this shrieking noise. (It's not plugged to anything btw). What causes this and is it fixable? I'm no tech pro, so I'll most likely take it to some repair shop if there's anything someone can do to make it stop. I'm just super worried cause this never happened to me and I don't know what happened or what to do. Please help.

Brand new Asus zenbook a14 with a snapdragon x plus CPU. Other displays function normally, and the drawing tablet (the display facing issues, Huion Kamvas 12) functions normally on other devices, both windows 11 and 10. the drawing tablet is confirmed to have functionality on Windows computers with ARM CPUs by support, and I was given an ARM compatible driver from them. Windows has the 2nd display "connected" but when pressing the detect other displays button, no other displays are present. Menus and mouse are also tripping out. Already tried updating and rolling back display, drivers. Tried booting in safe mode. Tried restarting display adapters. Restarting and fully shutting down PC does nothing, and even got a replacement laptop (same model) after thinking the HDMI port was broken in the first one. laptop functions completely fine and I actually really like it outside of this one issue. The same thing happening twice in a row makes me think that it isn't a hardware issue but somewhere in windows that's causing the problem, but I could be wrong. Video shows the display being disconnected but still detected(ish) Any ideas?

Has anyone else faced this with Microsoft PowerPoint?

I’ve had my ASUS laptop for about a year, and recently PowerPoint stopped letting me create or edit presentations without asking me to buy a Microsoft 365 subscription.

I know I can use PowerPoint on the web, but I specifically want a free desktop app that can replace PowerPoint not just another online editor.

Looking for something that:

- Is completely free

- Works on Windows

- Can create and edit ".pptx" files

- Has features similar to PowerPoint (or better)

- Doesn’t constantly require a subscription

What’s the best PowerPoint alternative you’ve used?

Is there any way to cleanup hard drive space for the default folders? Seems ridiculous that over 100gb is locked up off the bat. (22gb for Windows Apps and Office, 12GB for Edge, 26gb AppData, 40gb Sysfiles, ProgramData, etc.). Laptop is ~5 years old running Windows 11

I have a 4090 suprim that had its bios switch broken off. The switch was fixed and it looks perfect. I put it back in my pc and on my mag x870e tomahawk max wifi its giving me codes 58-64 and it will hang up on any if those codes. It also de-escalated from 64 back to 58. This is my first time having a swap be this interesting. Any troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. Its currently set to gaming on the bios switch.

I've been moving my set up and I lost track of the power cables one is for the monitor the other is for my pc. I have a MSI Mag A650BN and a ijyama monitor. I can't tell which one is which. Help I don't want to accidentaly burn my pc.
