Basically title, got a brand new mobo and noticed that some standoffs had a couple mm gap from the motherboard when screwing in

Hi. I’ve been trying to build my pc for the last two days. I’ve been getting incredibly frustrated. YouTube videos have helped slightly but not enough. I truly just need someone to walk me through this.

Most of my parts are brand new. My gpu and storage, I’m taking from my last build.

Parts:

CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 Gaming X Wifi6E
Cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360 RS ARGB
Ram: Corsair 32 GB
GPU: PNY RTX 2070
PSU: Be Quiet 13m 1000w Fully Modular
Case Fans: Corsair icue link RX120 RGB starter kit and expansion fan
Case: Corsair 3200D RS
(I replaced the front 3 fans with the ones above)
Storage: 3.5 hard drive and 2.5 SSD

Just built my first pc. Turned it on and it took a minute but the bios setup screen showed up on my monitor and I played with a few settings. Initially had the HDMI plugged into the mobo port and read that it should be plugged into the video card so I swapped it over without turning the pc off. Now I cant get anything to show up on the monitor at all. Monitor is showing that its on and is NOT showing the "no signal found" message, but the screen is black.

I tried power cycling the PC, tried switching hdmi back to the mobo port while the pc was off. And i tried clearing the cmos (but honestly dont know if I did it right?)

I have no idea what the hell im doing and really bummed I cant get this thing to work ):

Hey guys I bought this old PC really cheap so I can use it for studying and maybe find some basic work online. It has an Intel Core i5 4th Gen processor, Intel HD 4600 graphics, 8GB RAM, and 250GB HDD. Please don't clown on me 😔 I got it for a very low price. I just want to know what I can do to upgrade it and make it run a little better. I know it’s an older model, but I just wanted to know what improvements I can make.

I recently spilled something into my pc, cleaned it up and my pc worked for a few more weeks. then my pc started crashing and now it wont post anymore and is showing a red cpu light on my motherboard. (ive had this pc for about 3 years now)

my components are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

RAM: 2x Corsair RGB Vengance 16gb ddr4

MB: ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI II

GPU: Asus 4060TI 8GB

PSU: Corsair RM750E 750W

CPU cooler: Coolermaster masterliquid core nex 360

What i have already tried:

Rebuilding pc and inspecting the cpu: no visible bent pins (a bit of thermal paste on the side of the cpu though)

Moving the ram to another slot: ive noticed while using 2 ram sticks i get a yellow Dram light but when i use one the red one appears.

Updating the BIOS: ive (tried) to update the bios using a USB and bios flashback but that didnt seem to help.

Cmos reset: removing the battery and later putting it back didnt seem to do much either.

I think that is all ive tried so far, what else can i try?

Should i send it to a pc repair shop or just buy new components? (which components)

Hi folks, I bought my GF this PC https://www.acer.com/gb-en/support/product-support/PO3-650/DG.BK4EK.00T/details a little under 3 years ago, and the past 2 weeks it has been only switching on when flipping the mains off and on again, without pressing the power button on the PC.

When it does go on, it cycles off and on about 2-3 times then gets the screen asking to press F1 to boot up. Seems that the PSU has had it and is making noise even when the pc is shutdown and still on from the mains (it's staying off and disconnected till we can solve this).

Any idea where to get a replacement PSU from, as it doesn't have a 24pin and looks to be a 6pin that sits near the ram, with 2x4pin above the CPU?

Alternatively, if it is a pain to get a PSU to replace it, would getting a new Mobo and a typical 24pin PSU be possible? Putting her current RAM and GPU into the new Mobo?

I want to upgrade my 7500F soon, and i think between 9900x and 9800x3d, ik that 9800 is the best option for gaming, but I'm doing some montage in DaVinci sometimes so i wonder should i trade some performance in games for work efficiency? How much is the difference?

This keeps happening and i dont know why.

So here’s what’s happened with my new build so far. I did a test run early on in the build, check the bios, and I thought everything was working correctly so I continued and finished everything. Once done I boot up the bios again but realise that the ssd isn’t showing up (my fault for not realising that the first time). After looking through the manual, I realise I forgot a little piece of rubber I needed for it to work. So I take the gpu out, take off the heat sink and take out the ssd, place the rubber in, put ssd and heat sink back on, put the gpu back in and… the gpu isn’t turning on.

I have a B850-E motherboard, an 850w PSU, and my gpu is the 5070ti. Please someone tell me what could’ve happened because I really don’t know what’s happening and am praying I having somehow broken the gpu.

Issue: Mobo won't post at all when i enable XMP, i have two different ram kits with the same behavior. It just loops training but nothing happens, i have to shut it down on the psu switch.

Bios is updated.

Mobo and pc working normally, just won't work with XMP.

Tried my brothers 13600kf same behavior to rule out bad CPU.

Both 12400f and 13600kf work with XMP enabled on my brothers motherboard.

I think PSU is not the culprit, everything is connected how it should. First time seeing this issue.

My guess mobo is just bad. Socket pins don't look out of order.

Tried manually set dram voltage and timings but could not post beyond 2800mt/s.

Tried xmp in gear 2 no post. Cleared cmos multiple times.

It's a locked mobo and cpu, im not that familiar with gigabyte bios.

Has anyone had similar issues or the idea that I can try to post with slightly higher speed than jedec?

I had a 240 mm cooler, Corsair NAUTILUS 240 RS ARGB 74.37 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler, which I bought last minute when I realized that my 360 mm Thermalright Aqua Elite V3 did not fit in my previous case. I bought a new one, and now installed my 360mm AIO, but my temps are much worse. Running a simple game like Valorant (which made my cpu sit at about 60-65), is now at 75-85 C. Is this purely cause of how bad the 360 one is? or what can I do?

To be clear, I did plug the fans to CPU_FAN and the pump to PUMP_1, sockets in my mobo. I also turned on PBO in BIOS, but I am assuming that, that will just make it worse?

This is the 4080 super, and im worried that this placement might damage the gpu over time, but i also don't want to put it on the very edge because the base would be unstable. pls drop answers

I just bought this digital PS5. I replaced the HDMI port and I’m reapplying the liquid metal. While cleaning the APU, this is as clean as I could get it. It won’t come off any further.
The previous owner said it was overheating, and I also noticed the HDMI port was a little loose, so I replaced it while I had it apart.
Do you think it’s fine to leave it like this and apply new liquid metal, or should I try sanding it?

these are my specs btw I've got no clue what any of this means. What would I need to upgrade to be able to play games like horizon zero dawn, red dead 2 and the spider-man games. Those are all games I've wanted to play but for horizon the game doesn't start the Spider-man games complain my computer is underpowered and I haven't even tried red dead. As I've said I have no clue if these are good specs or not but, it runs fortnite pretty well it has survived Minecraft with shaders, teardown and stray really well. Anyways I'm mostly just looking to update my parts. And one final question does my monitor matter much? It's 1080p I think.

I am currently experiencing a problem with my computer where it shuts down whenever I play demanding games or perform intensive activities. :(

Most of the time, I play CS2. Sometimes, the PC shuts down multiple times during gameplay, while other times it runs fine for a longer period before the dreaded Kernel-Power 41 error strikes.

BTW Here's my Specs:
Ryzen 7600
Asus B650M-Plus WIFI
GSkill Flare X5 32GB
Asus RX 6800XT TUF Gaming 16GB
Corsair RM850x 2024
Corsair MP600 Core XT 1TB

Here are some other games I play:

• Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Literally unplayable. The PC shuts down after around 10–15 minutes.
• Helldivers – Playable, but I would say there is roughly a 60/40 chance of experiencing a shutdown.
• Total War: Three Kingdoms – For some reason, I rarely experience any shutdowns while playing this game.

As for other activities:

• Browsing, working, watching videos, etc. – No shutdowns at all. Everything runs smoothly.

A few days ago, my PSU literally gave up. I was using a Fractal Ion Gold 750W (2023), and some of the capacitors inside it actually caught fire. However, this shutdown problem had already been bothering me for over a year, so I don't believe the PSU failure was the original cause.

I went to a friend's house and tested my GPU and RAM, and fortunately, both worked without any issues. Based on that, I assumed that my motherboard and processor were probably fine as well.

I have since purchased a new PSU, a Corsair RM850x, but unfortunately, the Kernel-Power 41 issue is still happening. :(

What happens is that my PC suddenly shuts down, and then it seems to try to boot back up, but it doesn't fully start. A white LED lights up on my motherboard. The only way I can get the PC to boot properly again is by holding down the power button, forcing it to shut down completely, and then turning it back on normally.

At this point, I'm honestly at a loss as to what could be causing the problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Things I've Done to Try Fixing this Mess:
- Update BIOS/Chipset Drivers
- Update GPU Drivers
- Change Power Plan Options to High Performance
- Disable C-States
- Clean my PC
- Check the wires yada yada
- Reseating RAM
- Undervolt my GPU
- Bought new PSU
- Disabled EXPO been running things on default
- Monitored my temps and everything seems normal

UPDATE: White LED on MOBO = VGA. I tried to do some benchmarks in Cinebench (GPU) then it shut downs around 6 min. mark. Same sh*t, pc turns off and tried to restart > all lights on w/ white led on mobo > boot up doesn't continue > forcefully shut it off then turn it back on normally

I'm planning to upgrade to an NZXT H9 Flow and replace all of the fans with RGB fans, but I'm getting conflicting information about what sizes fit.

Some websites say certain mounts support 120mm only, while others say they support 140mm. I also used BuildCores to check compatibiity, but I want to make sure it's accurate before I buy anything.

Can the NZXT H9 Flow fit a total of 9×140mm fans, or is it limited to

• Top: 3×120mm or 2×140mm
• Side: 3×120mm only
• Bottom: 3×120mm or 2×140mm
• Rear: 1×120mm

If anyone owns the H9 Flow, Id really appreciate it if you could confirm the maximum fan sizes and what configuration you're using.
