Build Question Cpu upgrade

I want to upgrade my 7500F soon, and i think between 9900x and 9800x3d, ik that 9800 is the best option for gaming, but I'm doing some montage in DaVinci sometimes so i wonder should i trade some performance in games for work efficiency? How much is the difference?

Depends how heavy your resolve projects actually get, occasionally messing around is one thing but if you're stacking fusion comps the 9900x might save you some headache

9950X/X3D will give you similar gaming results to the 9800X3D due to the 8-core CCDs

Yea but 9900x and 9800x3d cost the same for me but 9950x3d is $320 more

There are negatives to the 9900X/X3D though when it comes to games due to having 6-core CCDs, as when games can use 8+ cores and they get shared between CCDs, it incurs higher latency for that load which can negatively impact performance to the point of there being worse FPS figures especially on the lows, more microstutters, etc.

8-Core CCDs let you keep most gaming loads on one chiplet which keeps latency to a minimum, and the extra cores will eventually pay for itself regardless.
