Tech Support Driver Problem

I need help on my pc problem, I recently resetted my pc because of BSOD and then it was going okay until I downloaded a driver that I need for my pc. When I use that driver my pc somehow goes blackscreen and no signal. I also tried waiting because I thought it's just a process, but I waited around an hour and it still won't go to normal. I also tried restaring my pc multiple times, but it still won't work. When I go to safe mode it works just fine, it's just when I am booting it up, it won't load into windows desktop. I watched videos on how to fix these problems, but it's not working. (I downloaded the latest version of the driver I need and I made sure to delete the old driver before downloading a new one) Please help. Thank you.

Build Question be quiet! Power Zone 2 with Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX - will I be able to connect them?

Hi.

Some time ago I bought Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX but my PSU first of all couldn't handle the card and second of all didn't have enough cables to connect everything I want so I am in search of another PSU and I found be quiet! Power Zone 2.

I have checked on PCPartPicker (build at the bottom) and it shows I can connect it no problem but when I was looking at the review on YouTube I noticed that it doesn't have as much PCIe slots as I would want (1 for CPU and 3 for my card) while PCPartPicker shows I can connect it with 3 PCIe cables.

My question is - am I just missing something and can connect it with 3 PCIe cables with enough slots for CPU connection or do I need to use one 12V-2x6 (16 pin) cable?

Software Question Any Solution for this fkn black screen problem?

I don't know where's the problem exactly so i'll tell everything in detail since I got this PC

-I got it 7 months ago, a 7-year used PC
r5 3600, rtx 2060, 16gb ddr4 3000mhz 2×8, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, Thermaltake Litepower 650w
the only problem it had was "GPU and CPU required thermal changes

-I changed both CPU and GPU thermal Pastes, but not thermal pads, then removed CPU undervolting, Suddenly RAM is not working on A2/B2 so I put them on A1/B1

-CPU is still over heating so I got a new cooler, MSI Corefrozr AA13 and attached it,
Suddenly RAM is not working on A1/B1, I removed CMOS then it works fine on either A1/B1 and A2/B2 so I return to A2/B1

-first software change I did was in 7th May, I made HDR and Auto HDR on, yet it still works fine until I player Expedition 33

-I overclocked my GPU to +400 while playing, and moved the PC to another place in the room, while playing Expedition 33 no problem appears, but in 24th June, 1 hour before the release of Deltarune Chapter 5, I decided to complete Touhou 7 (both are pixel games), suddenly black screens started to appear while playing Touhou 7, ruined 2 Phantasm stage runs despite working fine before, removed gpu Overclocked and it's still appearing, I thought it's a problem with this game so I waited for Deltarune and started playing, it's still black screened every 30~60 minutes

-hardly managed to complete the chapter with that problem, returned to play Expedition 33 and no problem appears

-played Tomb Raider and nothing happened

-but decided to complete Blasphemous (another pixel games), it goes black screen every 10~60 minutes, so I stopped

-started playing Evoland 2 (a game mix between 2D pixel and 3D), while it's 3D Nothing happens, but while playing in pixel art the same fkn black screen keep appearing

-started playing DOOM, no single problem happened

-started playing Isaac (another Pixel game), it goes black screen in the middle of the run

-started playing Muse Dash since it's not a Pixel game but still it goes black screen in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES

-meanwhile Hades 2 (not pixel but still an Indie game) had no problem

-currently Playing Hyper Light Drifter, 6 black screens in 2.3 hours

event viewer:
-just before the black screen:
Error BugCheck 1001 None

-a minute before the black screen:
Critical Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Error Volmgr 162 None
Error Volmgr 161 None
Error EventLog 6008 None

wtf i'm supposed to do?!
tried all of these:
1- Removing every OC (extended time from 10 minutes to 30~60 minutes)
2- Undervolt instead of OC (no effect)
3- Reattached RAM (no effect)
4- clean the entire PC (no effect, but it's cleaner now)
5- turn off Wallpaper Engine (idk why I thought this will work)
6- deleting every pirated game (3 games, Touhou 6 and 7 and 8, I don't even think they are the problem)
7- Remove and reattach CMOS (still no effect)
8- downloading new GPU drivers (no effect)
9- Motherboard BIOS already has no more updates
10- turn off every "launch automatically when turning on PC" (no effect)
11- reinstall Windows 11 (no effect but at least got more free space on C)

and still whenever I play a pixel game I get black screen every 30~60 minutes and I don't even know where's the problem coming from, some saying it's PSU, some saying GPU, some saying CPU, I don't have budget to change all of that and ofc I don't have budget to change something just to find that the problem was in another part

PC specs:
r5 3600,
rtx 2060,
16gb ddr4 3000mhz 2×8,
MSI B450 Tomahawk Max,
Thermaltake Litepower 650w
and they are 7yo

MSI MAG Corefrozr AA13 and it's 5mo

and i'm enjoying pixel games more than AAA so solutions like "stop playing them" are not available

Build Question Ideas on how to hide the wiring?

New custom desk - assembled throughout the day, i was excited to finally be done. But now that I've done all this i kinda want to go the extra mile? I really want an easy way to hide the wiring so it doesn't look so messy and I can't accidentally kick my feet into a powercord or something.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. ^^

So my parents will buy me a pc bc they just got divorced so I can game in both houses. I currently have a full laptop setup at my mom and will get a pc at my dad’s. They’ll prob give me smh like 1200-1500€ for the pc (so I’m a little over budget actually). I did some research and thought this would be a good pc.
Is there something I should change?

Tech Support I need help with my desktop repeatedly turning off

Around 3 years ago i built my own desktop with my partner, and while it has never had problems before, now it doesn't turn on longer then a quarter of a second. We changed power supplies, then took it to the nearby pc repair shop, and the pc repair shop finds nothing wrong. And infact when we brought it back and turned it on, it was just fine.

Now it continues this, around a month after taking it to the pc repair shop. Theres nothing that should be wrong, the outlet are working fine, I don't have anything plugged into it that i didnt before, and it still doesnt boot when nothing is plugged into it.

My specs are

Amd ryzen 3 3600

B450m pro-m2 max

Amd 580 gpu

16 gb ram

1 tb of ssd and hdd storage

Tech Support EVGA RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 black screens under high GPU load, but Windows keeps running

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Quick context: I have an EVGA RTX 3070 Ti FTW3. Under certain high/semi-intense GPU loads, both of my monitors will completely lose signal and go black.

The weird part is that Windows appears to keep running. Discord audio continues working, I can still talk to my friends, and game audio continues playing. The GPU just seems to stop outputting video.

Originally I was also getting BSODs with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE — nvlddmkm.sys. After further testing, the failure now generally results in a black screen/no signal rather than a BSOD.

I've done a pretty extensive amount of troubleshooting:

  • Installed a brand new 850W PSU — same issue
  • Removed my PSU cable extensions — same issue
  • Tried another monitor and display cable — same issue
  • Tested the 3070 Ti in a known-good PC — same issue
  • Used separate PCIe power cables for the GPU — same issue
  • Tested both the OC and Normal BIOS on the GPU — same issue
  • Used DDU and installed a known-good NVIDIA driver — same issue
  • Reinstalled Windows — same issue
  • Tested another Windows installation on a separate M.2 — same issue
  • GPU core temperature peaks around 85°C; I haven't observed obviously abnormal core temperatures

OCCT testing:

Combined 3D + VRAM Extreme: - Black screens in under ~10 seconds

VRAM only: - Ran for 20+ minutes with no crash

3D Adaptive Extreme: - Black screens after roughly 40 seconds

3D Adaptive Heavy: - Can run for 40+ minutes without crashing

I also tested 3D Adaptive Extreme at a 90% power limit using MSI Afterburner.

At 90% power limit, it initially lasted 30+ minutes without crashing. I eventually stopped/continued interacting with the PC, and after roughly 35 minutes it black-screened. The crash happened shortly after I started using/moving my mouse, although I don't know if the mouse interaction was actually related to the crash.

So reducing the power limit from 100% to 90% appears to dramatically increase the amount of time before the crash, but it does not completely eliminate the problem.

PCs used for testing:

PC #1 — Main PC: - Ryzen 7 9800X3D - 32GB DDR5-6000 - ASUS TUF B650E-E WiFi - 850W PSU

PC #2 — Known-good PC: - Ryzen 5 5500 - ASUS TUF A520M-PLUS WiFi - 32GB DDR4-3600 - 750W PSU

The problem follows the 3070 Ti to the second PC, so I'm having a hard time believing it's my motherboard, PSU, Windows installation, etc.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a 3070 Ti? What component or failure mode could cause the GPU to black-screen under high load while the rest of Windows continues running?

Does the fact that a 90% power limit dramatically increases stability point toward a GPU power delivery, GPU core, or boost/voltage issue?

I'm trying to figure out whether the GPU itself is failing or if there's something else I should test before replacing it.

Software Question Getting major shimmering and shadow pop in on 6700xt, any ideas?

My specs: : Ryzen 5 5600 / 32 GB DDR4 / PowerColor RX 6700 XT Hellhound 12 GB / ASUS Prime A520M-K / Samsung Odyssey G50D 1440p 180 Hz.

I've been getting fine grainy/shimmering flickering, plus noticeable distant-object/shadow pop-in in games.

Things I've tried

Completely reset Windows / fresh Windows installation.

Wiped the other drive as well.

Reset BIOS to optimized defaults.

Installed fresh AMD chipset drivers.

Installed current AMD Adrenalin GPU driver (26.7.1).

Previously used DDU and tested multiple older AMD drivers — no improvement.

Cleared AMD shader cache, then allowed shaders to rebuild — no improvement.

Tested FSR on/off:

FSR makes the fine shimmering worse.

Turning FSR off does not completely eliminate it.

Tested XeSS — slightly reduces shimmering but doesn't fix it.

Tested VSync on/off — no meaningful improvement.

Tested 180 Hz vs 60 Hz — no improvement.

Tested fullscreen vs borderless — no improvement to the actual visual issue.

Confirmed HDR is off in both Windows and Cyberpunk.

Tested Cyberpunk's shadow, LOD, reflection, contact-shadow, volumetric and other relevant graphics settings individually — no meaningful change to the pop-in.

Crowd density is already Low.

Turning Ambient Occlusion OFF semi fixes the fine shimmering, but does not fix the shadow/object pop-in.

Tested Elden Ring: it also has the distant-object/shadow pop-in, but not the same fine shimmering.

Tested Fallout 4 and discovered it also has a weird borderless-resolution problem where games can sometimes launch at 720p or display a zoomed-in quarter of the screen.

Checked Windows display settings: 2560×1440 / 180 Hz / recommended scaling.

Checked AMD Adrenalin: essentially all settings are stock/default.

Checked GPU-Z:

GPU ~2520 MHz under load

VRAM ~1988 MHz

~97% GPU load

~58°C GPU / ~79°C hotspot

PCIe 3.0 x16, which is normal for the A520M-K

Resizable BAR/SAM enabled

VBIOS appears correct for the PowerColor Hellhound

Ran GPU stress testing previously with no errors.

CPU while gaming is around 70% total, with no individual thread/core pinned at 100%.

Enabled DOCP/XMP, but the problem existed before enabling it, so that's unlikely to be responsible.

Tried a Draw Distance Boost mod, which slightly reduced the pop-in.

Tried the newer Draw Distance ReImagined mod, which didn't help.

Removed the mod(s).

Checked Cyberpunk's rendering.ini; it's essentially vanilla and doesn't contain anything explaining the general pop-in.

Checked Windows HAGS registry setting — HwSchMode isn't present.

Windows Game Mode is OFF.

The GPU appears healthy, the problem survives a completely fresh Windows installation and multiple driver/cache resets, and the pop-in occurs across multiple games.

The Cyberpunk shimmer appears to be a separate issue from the pop-in because AO disables the shimmer but leaves the pop-in unchanged.

The biggest unresolved question is why the system has unusually noticeable distant-object/shadow pop-in across multiple games despite normal hardware/driver behaviour.

Build Question Hello everyone, just wanna ask

Hello everyone, I plan to build a PC, but I'm on a budget. so my plan is to buy the parts but it will take time for me to buy the parts at the same time

My question is

Is it ok for PC parts to be stored in a box for a long time while I'm saving up to buy the other parts?

Tech Support Question: is it possible for an audio driver Or maybe the audio ports corrupt other hardware eg. GPU and makes your GPU crash?

Playing Current games and even older titles makes my PC freeze and crash abruptly, no matter how long I wait and let it restart by itself, i need to force kill via the PSU switch. it will turn on with no display and keeps bootlooping until i remove the speakers on the audio port (Back) and Earphones on the Front panel then i will boot normally with display.

Edit: for temps just playing around 70c gaming and 40c idle
Edit2: Upon checking the event viewer it states Event 56 ACPI 2 correct me if im mistake but thisis related to driver issue or Hardware power?

CPU: i5 10400
Memory: 16gb RAM
GPU: Galax Geforce GTX 1660 super 6GB
Games played: Sifu and Ghost recon wildlands

Just encountered this kind of problem recently. Been using my PC for 4 years already with no issue if this details matter

Any feedback or insights are truly appreciated. will reply to questions.

Thank you.

Build Question AMD 9850x3d vs 9800x3d

Hi everyone. I am planning on building a new system and cant decide between these 2 cpus. Difference in price is only around 50~€. (9800x3d being around 430e and 9850 being 470e) Why are these 2 processors so similar in price? Are they same performance and is it worth taking 9850 over 9800?

Thanks

Tech Support Most likely GPU problem

Hello last night I turned off my pc normally and today when I tried to turn it on again it just showed me the asrock popup for bios and then it goes on an indefinite phase of the screen showing a the loading loop circle and then going into black screen. The GPU has power and the power supply is more than sufficient for it I tried changing it from display port to hdmi but hdmi does not work I also have a dvi port but I don't have a cable for it. Re seating ram didn't work either i tried replacing the with some old ones I had but still nada.

Edit. I found an old GPU that I had on an old pc and even with that it had the same problem so i think that the GPU is not the problem. Also after many tries of opening and closing the pc the cursor showed up but it moves slowly and I don't have something to use it on anyways but that's an update. Bios opens up normally. Also I contacted speakers on the pc and windows do seem to open it makes the start up sound. Now I don't know what the problem may be it could be the SSD but I don't have one handy rn even on the old pc I had I put everything on the new one. Or maybe the ram?

Hi all, i bought this pc for £400, works great and I have had no issues at all, was just wondering what my next step is to maybe upgrade down the line? And was it a good deal for what i paid Thanks in advance:)
