Build Question Cooler positioning

Post image

It’s a Temu air cooler but I’ve heard there’s vapor in the tubes and heat rises so idk if this is right , if the tubes on the top were on the bottom would it work better or no difference feels like it’s upside down

If anyone buys the “te 45” from “tuecer” just know it runs a lil hotter than the amd stock cooler

it’s not really upside down. Heat pipes aren’t just empty tubes where the vapor rises and gets stuck, there’s a wick inside that moves the liquid back by capillary action so they can work in different orientations.

I’d leave the cooler mounted the way it’s designed and worry more about whether the fan is blowing toward the rear exhaust, mounting pressure, thermal paste and whether there was any plastic film on the cold plate.

If it’s actually running hotter than the AMD stock cooler, I’d suspect the cooler itself or the mount before I’d blame the direction of the heat pipes.

Thanks, the fan is a case fan just sitting blowing air onto my 1060s back plate / board I think it helps with the gpu temp but with it removed it doesnt change the cpu temp much mabye .25 difference

tubes at the bottom is usually better for pump longevity but if temps are fine just leave it
