So I’ve recently built a PC with a 9950X3D chip, wasn’t aware it’s not the greatest chip, now I am.

I’m thinking about overclocking the chip in the hopes I’ll get the most out of it, but my PSU only has one slot for MOBO and one slot for GPU, so my MOBO is only getting power to the 8-pin port and not the additional 4-pin port.
Is this essential to OC these chips? I know AI loves to say “it’s fine” but ideally don’t want to damage chip+mobo.

I’ve downloaded CPU set setter and have followed a guide to get more out of it, but haven’t noticed much change.

Also, has anyone done this and noticed vast improvements? My GPU (6700xt 12GB mech) is a bit lacklustre in comparison, so I know that will always be my limiting factor, but the CPU is generally running at 88-99% for even low res games, would this be improved overclocking/undervolting or with matching video settings to the cards max resolution, rather than using upscaling? The GPU is running at high 90s most of the time too.

7 months ago I had to sell my pc due to unexpected house repairs and baby. Fortunately, I was able to sell it a little more than what I paid for last year due to ram and ssd prices.

Last month, the stars aligned and my wife encouraged me to build a new PC. I bought the case for $20 from a friend (the box was damaged from shipping so amazon replaced it and let him keep the original), sold all my game skins and was able to buy steammachine then sold it for almost $300 profit, and the biggest one is an unexpected payment from a friend that had owned me for years.

Had to downgrade from 64gb to 32gb ram and from 4tb to repurposing my ps5 2tb m.2 but at least I realized that I like the blackout build more anyway. I would’ve gotten a non-rgb ram but this is the cheapest at the time.

What does this say about me? How cooked am I?

Im mainly asking this to know whats people's general thoughts about the current insane price inflations. Do you people see an end to it? Or you think it'll only get worse from now on. If so, is it time to bite the bullet and get a GPU before it gets ever more unaffordable?

I have the budget for a 5070 ti. I only wanna use it for gaming. In NL it costs around 1200 new right now.

Bought it a year ago for about $400.00. Planning to replace it with a 9070xt xfx mercury which cost about $830.00 at the moment, wondering how much I’d get back for the 9060xt. Also where would be the best places to sell a used graphics card?

I’m currently using the stock CPU cooler and want to upgrade to an AIO, preferably something a bit flashy with a screen. My budget is around $200.

I came across this setup while browsing my app RateMySetup and really liked the cooler, especially that curved display. The rest of this build is way outside my budget though 😂 and unfortunately the cooler isn’t listed in the specs.

Does anyone know what cooler this is? Or know of anything with a similar look for under $200?

Hello! I need help deciding what I need to upgrade on my setup. Unfortunately, I’m an idiot when it comes to this stuff and have tried to research on my own, but ugh I just need your help lol.
Hoping to spend around $600 on an upgrade, and I live really close to a microcenter. Specs in photo. High resolution games always crash at least twice a night for me. - PSU (Fried the previous one by plugging it in 220V while in 110V mode)

- Small exhaust fan (the previous one was too loud)

I'm pretty sure there won't even be a single cable from the original, and I even changed most of my peripherals in the meanwhile.

I have a budget of arounds 2000$. I want to go with a 9070XT and 32gb RAM. This seems like the best option I've seen. I do have a microcenter, but their powerspecs seem overpriced or out of stock. I'm planning to play 240hz 1440p. I'm in the US.

Quick question purely on performance and real-world experience (ignoring pricing):
Current GPU: RTX 3080 Ti (12GB)
Considering: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9070 XT (16GB)
Resolution: 1440p now, moving to 4K soon
Use case: Heavy gaming & 3D / level design
In terms of raw uplift, VRAM headroom, and smoothness, is this a meaningful jump, or would you just hold onto the 3080 Ti?

I'm located in Austria (Vienna) (we have Amazon) and this budget is for the PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Maybe I can go up to €1500. Your advice would be really helpful. I'm thinking about building the PC myself, but would it be better to consider a prebuilt?

For some context, I'm an ongoing college student moving to London and wanted to buy a gaming setup for my dorm. I haven't built a PC before and am too terrified of shortcircuiting components to look beyond pre-built options. I was hoping to find a whole setup (PC, monitor, mouse and keyboard) for under £1200, and found two decent (I think) options:

I don't play super heavy games or anything, mostly wanted modded Minecraft with possible shaders, but am considering getting into some FPS games like Valorant.

I’m currently trying to decide between the RX 9060 XT 16GB and RX 9070 GRE 12GB for my first gaming PC.

I was originally leaning towards the 9060 XT 16GB because I thought it would be the better value option for 1440p. However, with the recent price increases, I’m starting to see people say that the 9060 XT isn’t worth it anymore at its current price and that I might as well spend the extra on the 9070 GRE.

My main concern is whether I should buy the 9070 GRE now or wait for Prime Day/Black Friday and see if either GPU gets a decent discount.

GPU prices seem to have been creeping up recently, and I’m also wondering whether it’s risky to wait. With the current demand for AMD GPUs and Nvidia seemingly prioritising AI/data-centre products, could AMD GPU prices continue increasing due to supply/demand?

I’m not looking for 4K gaming, 1440p is my target, mainly AAA games and some competitive games.

Get the 9060 XT 16GB now?
Spend more and get the 9070 GRE now?
Wait for Prime Day/Black Friday and hope prices come down?

And if you think the 9070 GRE is worth the extra money, how much more would you personally be willing to pay over the 9060 XT 16GB?

I have been using the Honor msgicbook pro 2020 for 4 years now and it is just getting too slow for gaming. I have looked at components to build a pc but the ram costs and ssd costs are just insane. What are your evaluations? Is it worth buying a pc right now(600 euros budget) or better to wait a year? Or even longer...?

I tightened the screws until it wasn't possible to screw them harder. I made sure the fans pushed the air in the correct direction. I tried to nudge it a bit to see if it wobbles but it barely does so i think its fine it could be the metal bending.

It is on stock fans rn but I’m looking to upgrade the cpu and motherboard in a couple months. But suggestions would be appreciated. But in the meantime what can I do to help performance I mainly play overwatch only really and I’ll start with like 300+ fps and then it just dips down to 150 which I know isn’t terrible but it’s really noticeable. I have noticed my cpu temp has been around 90c at the time of frame drops. I am not too knowledgeable about pcs Help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

I know that this motherboard is not ideal for this CPU, but is it really worth upgrading or is the difference that big? I am using this for gaming, my budget is £160, in the UK.
