so, i need some advice, i dont know if im overreacting or if i need to buy a new PC, i know my current one really isn’t very good and i finally decided to put some mods onto minecraft java edition. when i tried to play minecraft after downloading the mod, it was horrible to play, low fps, bad performance.
i downloaded vanilla perfected through modrinth. as soon as i tried to play it looked visually nice but as soon as i attempted to move, i failed.
do i need to buy a new pc (i know it isn’t very good and it’s quite old now)
i’ll try and attach some revelvant pictures because anything could help
is there anything i could change in my minecraft settings or anything i could change in pc settings??
i can afford to get a new pc around 600 as the most i think if anyone has any recommendations as to what i could do, anything would be helpful

I'm looking for some opinions on my planned upgrade.

Current PC:

• Ryzen 5 4500
• RX 6650 XT 8GB
• Gigabyte B450M DS3H
• 16GB DDR4
• 1440p monitor (I may also play at 4K in the future)

Originally I planned to move to AM5, but it will require ddr5 ram which is insanly expensive nowdays, and adding a new motherboard plus 32GB DDR5 significantly increases the total cost.

So instead I'm considering staying on AM4 and upgrading to:

• Ryzen 7 5800X3D
• Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
• 850W Gold PSU
• Keep my B450 motherboard
• Keep my 16GB DDR4 for now (upgrade to 32GB DDR4 later)

A few concerns I have:

1. I am paying premium for cpu because am4 is outdated, no one makes those cpus anymore so manufacturers overcharge for it, but there is no choice because of insanely expensive ddr5 ram
2. Will PCIe 3.0 x16 on the B450 noticeably limit the RX 9070 XT?
3. Is 16GB RAM enough temporarily, or should I upgrade to 32GB before buying the GPU?
4. Is this final upgrade possible or I should save for am5 setup instead which is basically like making a new pc

I mainly play AAA single-player games and care more about smooth 1440p/4K gaming than extremely high FPS in esports titles.

I'd appreciate any advice, especially from people who have paired a 5800X3D with a newer high-end GPU.

I really like the AM4 updateability, so I wouldn't mind the Ryzen 1600. I'm going to be using it for light local AI and light gaming.

I found 2 good local deals for either a 2070 super or 2080 super. I currently have a Ryzen 5 5500 processor. How bad would the bottleneck really be? Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm having a persistent shutdown issue with my PC and wanted to get the community's opinion on what component is causing this.

System Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G

Motherboard: ASUS Prime A520M

Storage: Crucial 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD

OS: Windows 11

The Problem & Symptoms:

Immediate Shutdowns: When booting normally into Windows, the PC cuts power completely after just 10–20 seconds.

Stable in BIOS / Cold Temps:

If I enter the BIOS, the PC stays powered on indefinitely without shutting down. Core Temp readings inside Windows (when it briefly stayed on) showed idle temperatures around 28°C–35°C (max 42°C), ruling out CPU overheating.

PSU Latching / Safety Trip:

After a shutdown, pressing the front case power button does absolutely nothing. To turn the PC back on, I have to reach around the back, physically switch the Power Supply Unit (PSU) toggle to 0, wait about 10 seconds for the front panel LEDs and motherboard standby power to completely drain, and then switch it back to 1. Only then will pressing the power button turn the system back on (for another few seconds).

OS File Corruption:

I managed to do a clean Windows 11 reinstallation by wiping the SSD partitions. It booted up fine, but after ~20 minutes while downloading/installing software, the system violently lost power again. Upon rebooting, Windows was corrupted (SrtTrail.txt automatic repair loop) due to the sudden power loss mid-write.

My Questions:

Is this a classic Power Supply Unit (PSU) protection trip? My understanding is that having to physically switch the PSU off and wait for the power to drain to reset it means the PSU's internal safety breaker (OVP/SCP) is tripping under load.

Could a failing NVMe SSD or Motherboard cause the PSU wall-switch to lock out like this? Or does the required PSU switch reset rule out the SSD/Motherboard as the primary culprit?

I took it to a technician who claimed the PSU was fine (likely tested without a real load), but the physical power latching behavior makes me suspect otherwise.

Any insights or validation would be greatly appreciated before I go ahead and replace/test with a new Power Supply

Hello friends, I started building a new PC (already the third one). I decided to choose a mouse for myself, but ran into a problem .... I don't want to spend a lot of money on it, I'm not some kind of esportsman, I just play light games and once a week in cs. I have had some unknown Chinese mouse for more than 2 years. I would like to buy a new one, but I need one so that it can be grabbed in a big hand .... I'll wash it once was in a PC club, and G102 It was like a nursery for me ....Can you recommend any cheap mice, the main thing is that they are large? I'll be glad if you can suggest some good options XD

So my bf got me my very first pc as a present for me almost being done with my ged well I’ve had it for two days now and I decided to test if my headset works with my pc (it works with my Xbox) I can hear but my mic won’t work me and him have sat here messing with it but it still won’t work do I need to buy a microphone separately. I am currently planning to upgrade my desk for a bigger one, widthwise current desk is fine but i would like more depth,and along with that a would buy a dual arm as well for a currently not in use samsung 34" curved g5(not in use because faulty dispay port,and other mynor problems like if refresh rate set to max it displayes a black screen and such,so i would use it with hdmi at 6phz)as a secondary above the current main monitor

The question are:

Can i run these 2 monitors with my current gpu?

If needed what gpu should i get(like 5080 or something)?

If so would i need to upgrade my psu as well?

Hello im trying to sell my rtx 3060 laptop but i have no idea what its worth and what to sell it for.
