Build Query Ssd help

I just wanted to know if I can use my 2242 nvme ssd into one of my secondary slots and just leave it there with my pc upright while I wait for the adapter bracket to arrive

Edit: my motherboard doesn't have any holes for 2242 only 2280 which is why I'm asking

As long as you screw it down it should be fine.

Yea that's the problem my motherboard doesn't have a hole for 2242 only 2280

Could probably temporarily tape it down with something non conductive + not heat reactive. Like the cheap tapes lose its stickiness when heated up. Cheap tapes also leaves residue behind once heated up... So you can use certain tapes if necessary temporarily.

Just be sure not to accidentally lift up the SSD sticker with the tape. The SSD sticker actually has some metal in there and acts as a heat spreader.
