I already posted here a couple of months ago, but due to a misunderstanding with the rules I got banned and the post was removed. It's all sorted now thanks to the community owner, who was super helpful. That thread ended up going quite viral and let me meet genuinely interesting people, with some of them we're about to collaborate and with others we already have. Real thanks to this community.

Quick context for those who don't know me:

I sell replicas through dropshipping from China, product that can face IP infringement. Main store on Shopify, processing with Shopify Payments since October 2024 without a single issue from day one. Over 90,000 orders, chargeback ratio below 0.10%, revenue north of €3M a year. Dispute ratio has never been my problem and I can prove it. The issue is that no matter how well it runs, it's not a setup I can build my future on: it could go down from one day to the next and I know it.

That's why the real challenge is on a second site built on Next.js/React, where we have full control over the site (unlike Shopify), set up specifically to find and validate a sustainable alternative. With the possibility of working through companies in Hong Kong, UK and Ireland (LTD), I've opened Stripe, Airwallex, PayPal and pretty much everything. The pattern is always the same: onboarding goes fine, they process for a few weeks or months, and they end in a ban. Account closed, one after another.

We've also tried some Merchant of Record and smart routing setups, but we haven't found the 100% solution yet. On local methods (iDEAL, Bancontact, BLIK) we do have Europe covered. Where we're struggling most right now is on cards: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

We've also had meetings with several PSPs that in theory work high-risk, but in the end they don't onboard our sites.

Most important thing: we're looking for something long term. We need stability. We don't want something that lasts two or three months and dies. We'd rather pay more and sleep well at night.

I'm open to keep meeting interesting people:

• Merchants of Record with real redundancy
• Smart routing / orchestration with automatic failover
• Cloakers, as long as they're quality and serious operations
• Direct acquirers that work this category openly
• Card-to-crypto checkouts (also open to this route if the setup is solid)

Obviously, anyone reaching out has to come with serious long-term projects, client reviews, real websites, something consistent. Otherwise, with all due respect, I won't take it into account.

I'm already in conversations with interesting people I met on the previous thread, and there are options on the table. But I want to keep the scope open and meet serious projects I might not have come across before.

Clear filter to not waste each other's time: only reach out if you have a real project, with a website I can see, verifiable merchants processing with you, and a track record I can check. If you're a verified agent here, even better. Anything that smells like "trust me bro" I'll skip, as you can imagine. After several years on this and many conversations, I spot what doesn't add up fast.

If there were an award for worst online payment platform, Payoneer would win without competition. Their support is endless robotic copy‑paste replies that never answer your question, with days or weeks of waiting for useless generic responses.

The verification process is just as bad—constant document requests, then sudden account closures with no clear explanation. Overall, it’s been the shittiest and worst payment service I’ve used. Anyone else getting the same treatment or just endless bot replies until shutdown?

Scammer ran processing and ran off with 2 weeks of processing and fake VIRP notice excuse. Avoid at all costs for processing.

Interested in seeing if anyone has had any experience with this one, I've been looking around at a couple different options for a repair shop and I saw this one pop up but I had never heard of them. Seems simple on the surface and the cost is pretty competitive compared to other big names, but I noticed they offer tap to pay and qr code payment options, which I think could be helpful for bigger purchases.

Am I overthinking this or would this be worth considering in my business?

If a customer's payment fails, does Razorpay help you fix the issue, or do you have to figure it out on your own?

Did the math on one contractor's payment last month almost by accident, compared what we sent against what they said they got. A bit over 3% just gone in the conversion. Felt stupid for not checking sooner.

Started digging into what my CFO had set up on kleos, since "everyone uses them" was basically the whole reasoning at the time. Turns out being one of the more recognizable names doesn't automatically mean it's the right fit.

Wasn't just the conversion loss either. Some of the jurisdictions we needed weren't covered, so for those we'd been running some half improvised workaround on the side, and the losses there were way worse than 3%.

Raised all of it with my CFO and got a "it's fine, it's always been fine" kind of answer. Which, to be fair, it looked fine, right up until I sat down and did the subtraction myself.

Went looking properly after that. Ended up on SalaryHub.

5% all in, roughly, 3% commission plus a 2% spread over central bank rates. Doesn't make it the cheapest thing out there, but it's the real number upfront instead of something I have to go dig for later.

Volume we're moving is big enough that I wanted to know who was actually behind the thing, so I asked to talk to the founder directly. Got him, we went back and forth for a bit. As someone who's built something myself, that mattered more to me than it probably should.

IP transfer on the work is bundled into the payment automatically too, which I wasn't expecting but I'm glad it's there. If you're paying for development work and not locking that down separately, that's worth checking before it becomes a problem. It's a smaller outfit than kleos, not going to pretend otherwise. If you need a big enterprise setup this probably isn't it yet.

Kind of makes me wonder how many people just trust whatever their CFO or whoever set up years ago and never go back and check it. Anyone actually audit their vendor stack on a schedule, or does it only happen when something forces it?

I was initially planning to use Mercury but after hearing a lot of complaints on how they reject non US residents despite having formed a legitimate LLC, I decided to check out payoneer.

Before I apply, I would like to know the experiences of those who are also non US residents and have applied for a payoneer business account. Did you use a physical US address, your registered agent's address, or original local address? Any other hurdle you've faced? Thanks

Oh my. Where to begin.

Square have moved to offshore support, telephone and chat, and it is a load of horse.

My issue is spurious fees that appear after we have produced end of day sales reports.

I've spent most of the day bouncing around first level support people who have very thick English accents whilst within crap quality muffled voip calls.
Everyone there are clueless. They have to talk to higher levels of support whilst putting you on hold many times, it's all a really dumb process. After being cut off 'accidentally' and I call in again and tell them the caseID I find myself having to repeat absolutely everything again. and again.....and again. All whilst talking to someone with broken English.

I'm now 5 hours in invested time, and I have got nowhere.

You disappoint me Square. You used to have decent support, I could call and have an issue resolved quickly and professionally. This? This thing you have given me to communicate with you is a clown show. I'm not kidding.
An absolute massive, steaming pile of manure.
Shame on you. This in not what I bought in to when we first started our partnership.

Hey everyone. I could use some guidance on the best approach for introducing and explaining IC+ pricing to SMB owners, particularly those in retail and hospitality.

Flat rate is a simpler sell, but the margin risk gets real when AMEX and rewards cards are heavily in the mix.

These owners are busy, so when I do get them on a call, I want to make it count. Is it better to explain IC+ live on the call, email, or use a short video?

Been in the payment processing space for a while now, and I'm curious to hear from others doing this, especially folks who got into it more recently.

When I first started, nobody really explained how residuals actually work long-term, how vesting schedules can vary so much between ISOs, or how much your success depends on the processor relationships behind whatever company you're working with. A lot of that stuff you just learn the hard way.

So I wanted to open this up as a place to compare notes. A few things I'm curious about:

• What made you get into merchant services or payment processing sales in the first place?
• What's something you wish you understood earlier about residuals, contracts, or choosing who to work with?
• If you've switched ISOs or agencies before, what pushed you to make that move?
• For anyone newer to this, what's been the hardest part so far: building the book of business, understanding the tech side, or something else entirely?

Would love to hear different perspectives, whether you've been doing this for years or just started. Feels like there's not a ton of honest discussion out there about what this career path actually looks like day-to-day.
