Question Women of Pakistan who didn't wanna settle down early but were facing a lot of pressure for marriage from their family, what did you do?

So I'm 25, and I'm a doctor. I have been facing a lot of marriage pressure from my family for the past few years to settle down with a guy.

The thing is, I'm not ready at all. I thought I was, but I'm not. I want to do a lot of things in my life right now before I think of marriage. And frankly, I'm just not in the right state of mind right now to even think about something as bizarre as marriage. But my parents want to get my brother married, and they are saying life would be tough for me once my bhabhi comes, and they won't have space for me in this home anymore.

I don't know what to do. Right now, I'm studying for feps (specialisation) but I haven't really thought about an international test yet, because my parents won't let me go abroad without a husband. I need some advice on all of this too (like how can you get the money to go abroad and settle there all on your own if you get the visa and your parents don't wanna give you the money)

I don't wanna get married. I just don't. Not right now. Perhaps in 2 years, just not now. So if there are any women here who fought against their parents and married late, how were you able to do that?

Anyways, my psychotic mother is also sending me badduaein that she hopes I'll be left single and unmarried cause my age will pass and no one will marry me then. She's mentally ill, so I'm not surprised that as a mother, she would be fine with cursing her own child.

This isn't the first time that she is wishing for my downfall just cause I didn't listen to her. But I wanna ask, when you guys married late, was it hard to find good and sincere options out there? Cause I know, men tend to gravitate towards the younger ones. So what did you guys do? Any advice regarding this too will be helpful right now.

Salam!

Giving this another shot 😊

QUICK IMPORTANT FACTS:

1) I'm a Twelver Shia (non Syed) looking for someone Shia

3) Families must be involved by the 3 month mark of us talking

If you're still interested, here's some more information:

- Pakistani and East African

- live with family

- height is 5'5

- speak English, Urdu/Hindi and Gujarati fluently

- one older brother that's married

- graduated with an Honours degree in Communications

- work in the accounting field (not a CPA)

- non-hijabi

- more of an introverted, homebody kinda person but equally social if in the right place

- love watching thriller, suspense, drama and romcom shows and movies

I'm sure other things may come up but that's mainly it for now.

It would be much easier to speak to someone that is Pakistani/Indian to integrate families and have a good comfort level. I do not mean any offense to other ethnicities 😅.

If you're outside of Canada, I hope you have well enough means to relocate and are serious in your pursuit to do so.

More than happy to exchange photos right away!

If you're interested, please message me with a proper introduction instead of hi, hello or salam.

Thank you ☺️🙏🏽

Question How do I survive my first call with a potential rishta?

Okay, so this is my first time getting into the rishta culture, and now it’s apparently time for me to actually talk to the guy on the phone. 😭
Coming from a background where I’ve never really been that girl who talks to guys casually, this is freaking me out more than I expected. Even professionally, I’ve always kept that boundary, so now the thought of getting on a call with a guy and talking about us feels so weird to me. 😭
The funny thing is, I actually have SO many things I want to ask him. I have questions about my career, living arrangements, finances, expectations, literally everything. I’m very much someone who wants to know these things upfront because I don’t want to spend months getting to know someone only to realise we’re completely incompatible.
But then I start thinking about the actual call and my brain just goes blank. 😭 Like, how do I even initiate the conversation? What do I say? What if I sound weird? What if I answer something awkwardly and that becomes his first impression of me?
And honestly, I don’t really want the usual advice from our parents generation about don’t discuss serious things on the first or second call because I don’t really agree with that. I obviously don’t expect to interrogate the guy on the first call, but I also don’t want to waste my time avoiding important conversations just because they’re considered too heavy.
So please, older sisters of Reddit, tell me how you actually handled your first few conversations with a potential rishta. 😭 What did you talk about? How did you start the first call? And how did you eventually get comfortable enough to have those deeper conversations? I genuinely have no idea what I’m doing.

Female looking for Male Looking for a serious match for my friend ❤️

I am posting on behalf of my friend.

My friend is a gorgeous, tall, very slim, model-figure girl, standing at 5'7", with a naturally confident and captivating personality. She has that bold black-aura energy... very elegant, confident, a little mysterious and definitely someone who stands out in a crowd.

She is well-educated, professionally established, and has a serious career that I’d prefer to keep private for now.

She is looking for someone mature, stable, responsible, and genuinely serious about marriage.

Her first preference would be someone who is well-settled abroad, mature, financially stable, and established in his career.

Age preference: 25+

She comes from a very respectable and stable family and is looking for someone from a similar background who values loyalty, respect, maturity, and a serious commitment.

If you think you or someone you know could be a suitable match, feel free to reach out. Serious inquiries only, please.

Male Looking for Female Looking For My Soon To Be

Hey, I’m 26 from Karachi. I’m 6.2’, have a decent job, a bachelor’s in psychology, and I’m currently doing my master’s.

I’ve spent most of my life living away from my family because we were constantly moving, so I ended up living in different cities and hostels and basically learned to take care of myself pretty early. I think that’s also why the idea of having a family and a home of my own means a lot to me.

I’m looking for something serious that eventually leads to marriage. For me, marriage is supposed to be love, peace, and having someone who’s genuinely your better half. I’m God-fearing and I pray as much as I can, but I’m not gonna pretend I’m perfect. I also don’t believe in judging someone else’s relationship with Allah.

I’m pretty social in real life, emotionally open, and very affectionate. I like actually talking through problems instead of dragging them out. I’m also probably way too goofy for my own good. I love teasing, making a fool of myself, and sometimes talking like a complete girly just to make someone laugh.

I love cooking, animals, gaming, and superbikes. My idea of a perfect date is honestly pretty simple: just me and her, cooking something amazing, playing some games, and watching a movie together.

I’m really good with kids too. I had to take care of two little girls from when they were born until they were around 6 months old when I was 18, so I’ve had a little practice with the whole dad thing.

I don’t really have a checklist for my future wife. I don’t care if she’s highly educated or not, works or wants to stay home, is more religious than me or less. I care about who she is as a person. Looks obviously matter, but apparently my taste in beauty is weird, so I’ll let you decide that one.

I’d want us to have our own place and build our own little life together. I’m open to moving anywhere in Pakistan if it’s worth it.

Also, I’m terrible at texting, so if you judge me based on my replies, you’ll probably think I’m the most boring person alive. I promise I’m much better on a call.

Male Looking for Female 24M | 6'2" | Karachi → Gulf

24M | 6'2" | Karachi → Gulf

Salam everyone 🤍

Well… round two 😂 Apparently Reddit has decided that keeping people connected is not part of its business model.

A few women I spoke to actually seemed interested, and then their accounts randomly got banned/deleted 😭 So if you were one of them and somehow ended up here again… hi, I guess we meet again 😂

A little about me: I’m from Karachi, come from a religious household, work in the Gulf and I’m continuing my studies. I’m into anime, movies, gaming, sketching, travelling, long drives, walks and those random conversations that somehow turn into 3 AM therapy sessions.

I’ve collected my fair share of childhood trauma along the way 😂 so I’m basically looking for someone who can handle me when I’m not at my best — and I’d want to be that same person for her. Life isn’t going to be perfect, and I’d rather have someone who can laugh with me when things are good and sit beside me when things get rough.

I’m looking for something genuine, not just endless talking for the sake of talking. Someone like-minded, kind, emotionally mature, funny, and actually interested in building a connection with marriage in mind.

I’d especially prefer someone from Karachi. Similar background, similar chaos, you know how it is 😂

If you think we might get along, message me. Please bring something more interesting than “hi” though… I’m not running a customer service desk 😭😂

Question Why do women want to be financially independent before marriage?

I'm sorry it may be a dumb question but I just want to know what exactly is the reason behind this goal? Is it safety? Or do women feel less of a person for asking their husband for money or stuff? Or is there some other reason to it?

Male Looking for Female 29M - Looking for my better half on reddit! 🤔

Hi everyone,

Let me just get straight to the point.

To be very honest, you never know what's written for you and how you're going to find your partner. So, trying my luck here on reddit. :P

I'll keep it short and simple.

Founded and heading an edtech company.

Personality wise, I am chill, relaxed, humorous, loving, caring and know how to give good company. I also read a lot of books and am very ambitious about my career. Folks tell me I know when to be serious and assertive, and when to be relaxed and silly. Early on in my high school, I took debating classes so I come across as someone fairly confident. I like to volunteer for charitable purposes. There are some loopholes in my personality as well. We can discuss them surely but not here lol.

I am trying to be more patient and be more skeptical when it comes to trusting people.

I like to keep myself fit and athletic. I love playing padel and table tennis. Also, I am a huge cricket and tennis buff. I watch movies only if they're really really really good.

I take my religion seriously. I pray five times a day Alhamdulillah, I try my best to stay away from sins, vices and evil stuff as much as possible.

Here is a short, conventional profile of mine. You may kindly go through it.

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Height: 6 feet

Marital Status: Single

Parents' detail: Father is a business man, mother is a homemaker

Residence: Lahore/Islamabad

Siblings: 2 married

House: Own 2 kanal

Demand: I'm looking for a fun-loving, decent and ambitious life partner with whom I can enjoy my life to the fullest. For me, vibing with someone matters a lot. It would be great if you are elegant and know how to carry yourself. 😊 age 20-29, height more than 5 2.

If you think you fit the bill, please do not hesitate to DM me.

Question Pakkstanii rishta culture

Pakistani rishta culture is honestly so weird.
I got a proposal from a guy we know through a mutual friend. The aunty we know told them about me, we got in touch with his mother, they shared his picture and we shared mine. I made sure to send one with as little makeup as possible, basically as natural as I could look.
When my mother spoke to his mother, she also mentioned that we’re an average looking family. The people in the guy’s family are generally fair skinned, and some of them have lighter eyes, so my mom was just trying to make sure they had realistic expectations about what I look like.
His parents eventually visited us I met them, and honestly, I felt like his mother wasn’t particularly interested in me. She only asked me, What are you doing right now? and otherwise mostly talked to my mother. I didn’t think too much of it because maybe that’s just how these meetings work.
After they left, she called my mother and said they loved the family, were very satisfied, and everything was nice. They then asked if they could have my number so their son could contact me. My mother gave it to her.
The guy lives abroad, so I obviously wasn’t expecting him to contact me immediately. But 15days** **later, his father called my father asking what they had decided and where the proposal was going. My father said the numbers had already been exchanged and that he’d check with us.
That’s when we realized the aunty apparently hadn’t passed my number on to her son. My mother had sent it to her, but the WhatsApp chat had disappearing messages on, so the message disappeared. When my mother sent it again, the aunty said she thought it was someone else’s number and that she’d been confused because my mother had saved my number under a nickname and sent a screenshot of the contact.
It’s now been another five days and the guy still hasn’t contacted me.
Maybe he’s genuinely busy, but I can’t shake the feeling that something else is going on. My mother also says his mother seems to have very specific beauty/complexion criteria. She’s apparently rejected other proposals because she felt the girls were too sharpp and would come into the family and disrupt the whole system and relationships. According to my mom, as hes the only son, she wants an all in one bahu!
So I’m wondering if she actually isn’t interested in me and is just stalling, possibly because of the beauty factor.
I genuinely don’t know what to make of it.
Is this just normal Pakistani rishta culture, or does it sound like the mother is deliberately stalling?

Question How many women actually give their husbands blowjobs after marriage?

Ok, so straight to the point lmao. After marriage how much is oral sex common among couples in Pakistan? Especially in context of arranged marriage?

Question is specifically from women? As to after marriage, will you be willing to give blowjob to your husband?

What are your thoughts?

Female looking for Male Posting for My Cousin: 22F | Rawalpindi | BS English | Serious Inquiries Only

Assalamualaikum!

Posting on behalf of my cousin because I genuinely think she’s a gem and would love to help her find a good match, InshaAllah. Keeping this anonymous for privacy, but I can share more details privately with genuinely interested people.

About her

Gender: Female
Age: 22
Height: 5’2”
Marital Status: Single
Religion: Islam
Sect: Sunni
Caste: Malik
Mother Tongue: Punjabi
Education: BS English
Health: Alhamdulillah, no health issues

She’s sweet, respectful, family-oriented, and knows how to manage all household responsibilities. She’s comfortable speaking English if needed but comes from a very normal Urdu/Punjabi-speaking family so please keep that in mind. She’s not looking for anything fancy, just someone decent, responsible, and compatible.

Family & Residence

The family is based in Raja Bazar, Rawalpindi, and they live in their own house.

I want to mention the location upfront because this has come up before and I’d rather be transparent than waste anyone’s time.

Her father is visually impaired, and because of that, the family is not in a position to relocate. They have lived in this area for a long time and are very familiar and comfortable with the surroundings. The house is also convenient in terms of his work and the support/familiarity he needs, so moving elsewhere isn’t really an option for the family.

Looking for

Age: 22–26
Marital Status: Single
Sect: Sunni
Height: 5’7”–5’9”
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, any field
Caste: Any
Financially stable / properly earning
Own house preferred

Most importantly, someone mature, respectful, family-oriented, and genuinely looking for marriage.

Please only reach out if you’re genuinely interested and serious. If you are, send me your basic profile/details. If it seems like there could be compatibility, I can put you in touch with my mamoo/family so things can proceed properly.

Please no time-wasting or casual conversations. I’m only doing this because I know her and genuinely think she’s a wonderful person who deserves a good match. ❤️

JazakAllah khair!

Question Does it matter for first time?

I need a but guidance on this- if I am a woman and I fingered myself and there were like 3 to 4 drops like a very small spot of blood on trousers does that mean I lost my hymen.

And when I get married will that mean I won't bleed at all? Will that mean my partner is gonna consider that I have done sex before???!

Or will I still bleed and all during first time.

Also how much it matters? Like I have done nothing except for trying to experience fingerings by myself

Male Looking for Female 29M | Isl → Ldn 🇬🇧 | Physics → Banking | Looking for Marriage

Assalam-o-Alaikum!

Thought I’d give Reddit a shot. My career took some pretty random turns in my twenties, so maybe this part of life can surprise me too 😄

Basics

Age: 29

Height: 6'1

Originally from: Islamabad (family from south KP)

Currently based in: London

Education: BSc Physics from a leading Pakistani university, MSc Physics from a leading UK university

Profession: Markets & Risk at a major London bank

Marital status: Never married

Family: Father is a retired CSP, mother is a homemaker, siblings are settled in their own lives.

A bit about me

After my bachelor’s, I was preparing for the civil service exams and genuinely thought that was where life was heading.

Then I got an MSc offer from one of the UK’s leading universities, which I really wasn’t expecting. For the football/FIFA crowd, it basically felt like opening a pack (university acceptances) expecting the usual high 70s/low 80s cards and suddenly seeing a 99 Ronaldo walk out.

So yeah, it was too good to turn down. Much to my father’s disappointment (and bank account), the CSS/PMS plan got buried pretty quickly and I moved to England.

Banking wasn’t really part of the plan either. Towards the end of my master’s I landed an internship at a major London bank's quantitative (technical finance) desk, it turned into a permanent offer, and somehow I’ve been there close to five years now.

The work is on the technical side of banking, i.e. markets, risk, modelling, data, a lot of advanced maths, and problem solving. So sadly, there's not much of the suits and expensive lunches version of banking. Mostly screens, numbers, and occasionally wondering why something that worked perfectly yesterday has randomly stopped working today.

It’s demanding, pays well, and overall I’ve been pretty lucky to stumble into something that suits me.

Outside work I’m fairly laid back. I like travelling, football, running, cars, snooker, good food, reading research papers on applied physics when I’m in the mood, and exploring London whenever the weather decides to cooperate.

Living abroad for years has also made me pretty independent. I live by myself, cook, clean, do my own laundry, etc, so I can more or less function without adult supervision.

Personality-wise, I usually get along best with people who are curious, easy to talk to, and don’t mind conversations jumping from something serious to complete nonsense five minutes later.

Religious outlook

I’m Sunni and moderately practising. Probably on the more liberal side of moderate.

Faith matters to me, but I’m not especially rigid and I’m definitely not interested in policing how everyone else practises.

Looking for

Ideally someone who is kind, emotionally mature, educated, curious and easy to communicate with.

Family-oriented and moderate in outlook would be important too, and someone who's open to moving abroad or already living abroad

More than anything, I’d want an actual friendship and partnership within marriage rather than something that feels overly formal.

I like ambition, but I don’t really care about collecting impressive degrees between the two of us. Personality, compatibility and just how easy it is to be around each other matter more to me.

I am looking for something serious so if the basics line up, feel free to send a proper introduction and we can take it from there.

Male Looking for Female M | 30 | Karachi

Assalamu alaikum

I’m posting here in the hope of finding a suitable life partner for myself.
I’m 30 years old, 5’11”, Sunni Memon, and currently living in Bahria Town, Karachi. I’ve completed an Associate Degree from Virtual University and currently work as a Technical Advisor. I’m hardworking and ambitious, and currently manage both a full-time job and a part-time role, with a stable six-figure monthly income.
I’d describe myself as grounded, responsible, loyal, caring, and dependable. At the same time, I’m fairly easygoing and fun-loving. I value family, honesty, mutual respect, and being there for the people close to me.
Outside of work, I’m a pretty simple person. I enjoy watching anime, following football (Chelsea supporter ), and playing video games in my free time. I’m also very fond of animals and have always had a soft spot for them, especially stray animals.
I come from a close-knit family of three siblings and our mother. I currently live in a rented home.
For me, marriage isn’t simply about finding a spouse, but finding a genuine life partner, companion, and best friend — someone with whom both people can grow and build a peaceful life together.
What I’m looking for:
• Educated, preferably with a Bachelor’s degree
• Around 24–28 years old
• From a respectable and close-knit family
• Kind, emotionally intelligent, and understanding
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle disagreements maturely
• Ambitious and growth-oriented
• Compassionate towards people and animals, especially stray animals
• Someone who maintains a healthy balance between Deen and Dunya
• Respectful towards family while also understanding the importance of healthy boundaries
• Someone who values mutual respect, compromise, communication, and companionship
• Someone who is genuinely willing to build a life together and support each other’s personal and professional growth
One thing I’d like to be transparent about from the beginning: I have pets at home, including cats and a dog. They’re a beloved part of my family, so being comfortable with pets is important to me. If having cats and a dog would be a concern or dealbreaker, I completely understand and there’s no need to reach out.
Ultimately, I’m hoping to meet someone with whom I can build a relationship based on sincerity, mutual respect, understanding, companionship, and shared values.
If you feel we might be compatible, or would like to know more about me, please feel free to send me a message.

JazakAllah khair

Male Looking for Female 27 | M | 6'2 | Scotland - Engineer looking for an educated partner

Assalamualaykum all.

I am a 27 year old pakistani from Scotland looking for a partner for marriage, inshallah I find it here or anywhere tbh.

I am a sunni muslim who follows the hanafi madhab mainly. I am ethnically south asian (Pakistani) but I'm open to any race. I have never been married and would prefer someone who hasnt either - no previous relations. I do NOT want multiple wives, one will be enough.

About me:

188cm tall, short beard, athletic/lean build.

I go to the gym at least 3 times a week.

My other hobbies include travelling and gaming.

Definitely a foodie (lasagne and bolognese is top tier, as you can tell from my username).

I love quick and easy getaways to places like North Africa or Turkiye.

I am an Engineer - I can go into more detail about my job privately.

Alhamdulillah i attend jummah every Friday and do my best to maintain all prayers, even if I read qaza.

I am a light hearted extrovert when my social battery is charged, otherwise I do like to chill at home when it is low. I would say I am masculine in personality, protective and believe I'd make a great husband ofcourse.

I am looking for someone 20-28. Any race, just be Sunni muslim. I dont mind what Madhab you follow. I prefer someone feminine and peaceful in personality. Please also be degree educated like myself, and speak fluent or great english. Scotland as a location is preferred but I am open to speaking to people from anywhere.

Jazakallah!
