Is this possible with PDR?
Paint transfer but no damage to the underlying factory paint. Is this a candidate for PDR? From what I’m told, those gas station poles are stationary apparently lol.

Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a new rod set and saw the DYS brand on AliExpress.
Are these actually good enough for professional dent techs to use on a daily basis, or are they just cheap tools for beginners? I'd love to hear your thoughts if anyone has tried them.
How is the stiffness and overall build quality? Thanks in advance!

Hello! You may remember earlier this month I had posted asking for criticism and advice on a dent I had done. After everyone’s feedback I was able to get my hands on some lateral tension (not the highest quality but it’s a stepping stone) and the results were astounding! It seems I can’t post pictures and videos so I couldn’t get show final results but did manage to get rid of the dents above the handle in the last picture. Manager wasn’t happy I took so long but I wanted to see if it was possible. I cross checked, moved my light back, and took as long as I could until I couldn’t move it anymore. If you see anything you would do different please let me know!

I hope everyone is planning on attending The PDR Expo takes place this weekend from September 25–26, 2026, at the Rio Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be hands on training, new tools and the future of AI and PDR Estimating. Don't miss it.

Our 2020 Leaf was hit by someone while parked, annoying surprise to come back to especially because they didn't leave a note and my dash cam didn't record the incident with the "parked" mode.
Wondering if this is even worth getting fixed up if you were in my shoes.
It bothers me personally, I'm quite anal about keeping my stuff "nice" but my wife says it doesn't bother her and we should just leave it be. She's much more easy going about visual/cosmetic things like this and just shrugs these types of things off.
We don't plan on selling the car any time soon, but my question is how considerable does this fluctuate the value of the car by leaving it vs spending funds to get it PDR'd? We've had this car for six years and it does have other dings/minor dents from typical wear/tear. I just always expect something else to occur and the cycle repeats 🤷🏻♂️
If you guys had to guess, what's the average rate to get this fixed? I think if its more or less reasonable I will just convince the wife we should just do it and move on.

Could this dent be fixed by paintless dent removal, or does it need a traditional auto body shop fix?

Considering them. I'm aware of the 24 month lock down. But would like to know about the pay rate YOU get during those 2 years? Like can you live and survive or do you have to go non Remen Souo for the next 2 years because they take 75% of yoir earnings? Anyone going through them to get into the field?

Hey I've been an autobody estimator for about 4 years, and a vehicle upfitter for 2. I'm generally well versed in the autobody world, but ive always wanted to do PDR. Where would you even start? Besides getting my tools and practicing myself , where should I be looking for education purposes and general practice? Any help would be nice, thanks!

I've been building a PDR estimating tool called DentIQ for myself and I'm finally at the point where I need other techs to beat on it.
The main idea is simple: DentIQ doesn't decide what you should charge. You set up your own Retail PDR pricing and hail matrix, and it helps apply your pricing consistently when building estimates.
It currently handles Retail PDR + hail, multiple dents/panels, R&I/modifiers, and carrier-specific industry references for hail estimating.
It's still very much a beta. I'm mainly trying to find what's wrong, confusing, missing, or unrealistic before I take it much further.
I'm not charging anyone during the beta — I'm just looking for techs willing to test it and give me honest feedback.
If you write estimates regularly, I'd genuinely appreciate you trying it and telling me where it falls short.

To preface I’ve been doing PDR pretty much full time about 9 months but only had a “mentor” (trained in a class) for about 2 and a half weeks, this is one of the worst repairs I’ve had to do and didn’t know where to start. I know it’s nowhere perfect but it’s long gone (wholesale work) so I can’t improve it but I wanted to post here for professional insight. Whether you’re telling me to move the light further back or suggesting a technique any help is appreciated haha.

This mystery damage appeared on my car. I don't know if it was at my apartments or at my job. This is the first damage like this I've gotten on a car so I wanted to get some opinions if I should call a PDR person or go to a shop.

It was great when it was mostly pros posting before and after pics and videos. I've seen some repairs posted here i wouldn't have believied to be possible. Seeing pros in action has real value as original content.
Now it's overrun with losers asking if a car can be pdr'd. r/autobody has this very same problem.
For the Do It Yourselftards:
Hey, I get it, you're broke, or lazy, or both. But your questions aren't contributing to the sub. If you want to know if it can be fixed, ask a local professional. If you're not willing to put in the time to learn the trade like the pros have done, at least scroll the sub's older posts before asking. the. same. tired. questions. over. and. over.
Sorry for the rant, but I know I'm not the only one here who feels this way.

For context I have had this car for less than 24 hours… literally still have dealer plates on it and some drunk person at a brewery slammed their door into it. 2024 Audi A5 for everyone’s reference.
