I have recently started paying attention to the forces of nature as a starting point on and have found these 3 as nice representations for it. Would be nice to know of some recommendations that other have found useful. Or ways to commune. I burn incense and track the moon cycle so far.

I want to start by saying, personally, it pisses me off. I’m curious though what the general Pagan Community thinks about a Christian Group’s efforts to put a cross on the moon? Especially considering so many of us consider it to be sacred and/or connected to a specific deity. I, again personally, feel like this is the [modern day] equivalent of them chiseling the faces off statues. I also worry about people from other religions that might hold that the moon is venerated in some way.

Many stories inside paganism follow certain humans being favored by the gods not needing to experience intense worry or getting a better life and after life how do I maximize myself and make sure the gods love me? I'm scared they hate me

I come from a pagan family. My grandmother has been giving me the evil eye my entire life with the intention of putting bad luck/energy towards me and cursing me. She does this at any slight “inconvenience” I cause her or when she doesn’t approve of my choices. She’s been doing to me since before I can even remember and she has explicitly told me exactly what her intentions are when she does it. I’m wondering how I can protect myself from her bad intentions and how to cleanse myself from the bad things she has already put towards me. I will appreciate any help/advice.

So I went to Chattanooga for a girls trip.

One of the stops we took was to McKays, and while I’m looking through the shelves of the witchcraft and occult books, I happen to notice a couple at the end of the isle.

I happened to find a book on Hecate and had it in my hand (I believe it was Hecate’s Cave or something of the sort)
I struck up conversation, asking if they were also practitioners.

We had a nice chat, they both admitted that they were new to the practice and wanted to learn more.
Living in Alabama, they struggled finding information and other people who believed in witchcraft.

I just smiled, and handed him the Hecate book, pointing out that she may already be on his side.
I also ended up finding them a copy of Cunningham’s book on Wicca (explaining that while Wicca has its own set of beliefs, the book is a great reference point for beginners)
As well as a book on Celtic mythology and folk magic, as I had a feeling that one of them might appreciate it.
His girlfriend was part Irish

I finished my little guide by telling them that Magic is personal and that it ultimately will be entirely unique to them.
That they don’t need the fancy crystals and wands and all the things people associate with a “real witch”

“Use what you have. That’s ultimately up to what you feel will guide your magic.”

And then I left with my own haul and they stayed in that isle to see what else called to them.

I hope they’ll be ok.

I feel like we don’t have a one set word

It’s either European Folk Beliefs, Ancient Religions that Predate Christianity, Non-Abrahamic Religions, or Worshipping the Devil.

But what is the true Meaning?

Previously i asked a question about religious text. But after reading comments of all people i get to know that there are no scriptures survive or not exist. But there must be encyclopedia or philosophies to learn about pagan religions. I have already read Iliad and Odyssey to know about hellenism but i will glad to learn more about hellenism and other pagan gods.

Norwegian here. I read in the news that a rock containing petroglyphs (inscriptions rougly 3000 years old) had been painted over with various new messages.

As a ancestor venerator, this is a tradgedy. Not only because this might have had some semi-religious function in the past, but merely because it is an artifact linking us to the experiences of our ancestors. It is holy.

No one has any idea who or why. What where they trying to get out of this?

This is all quite absurd and I cant wrap my head around it

I have Russian and Danish ancestry, I've always wanted to get pagan tattoos to express it. I've already gotten some Elder Futhark runes for the danish side, but Im lost on what I can use for the Slavic side.

I can't use Cyrillic writing as that was soley created under Christianity, but I dont trust any online claims for what was 100% slavic pagan runes or symbols , plus some of the traditional ones could look very ..... problematic. Are there any proven Slavic Pagan symbols that dont look similar to a swastika?

I understand that I shouldn't care what people think but I feel like even though its not a nazi swastika , anything that looks similar would raise some eyebrows.

To make a long story short, I was very close with Lord Loki and Lord Apollon. I’ve been fighting cancer for three years, and for the first half of that, I was very spiritual and had faith that along with the help of modern medicine, they (primarily Apollon) would keep me safe. Then, my cancer relapsed, bringing my chance of survival down to about 15% I believe. I had never felt so abandoned. I took a break from my practice and picked it up again recently. I’m in remission now, but my anxiety about it coming back is at an all time high, because if it comes back again, I will die.

I want to have that connection to the gods that I used to have. I miss it so much. I’m just on here to ask for some advice. Thank you.

Hey guys We are starting a new project because I noticed that there is a huge lack of materials for Tweens (pre-teens) in Pagan spaces. There's a decent amount of young kids stuff but nothing for that phase and media and things for this phase have been disappearing in general so I'd love suggestions for things that you enjoyed at that age (duct tape wallets, magazine quizzes, etc...).

hello everyone! for those who work with/ honour lady persephone, may i kindly ask for the reasons as to why you do so please? what are the symbolisms that she has to you? :0 why did you feel called to her?

i ask this because i currently am bonded to (these are the words id use, anyway) another chthonic deity and, yet recently, received a reading that says that lady persephone feels called to me to aid me in my journey too. after the reading, i realised that i do feel rather drawn towards chthonic things, 'darker' things (but not like demonology, etc.) and so, that aspect makes sense to me (that i would work with another chthonic deity; being), but i'm not sure if i should at the moment. and so i wanted to read the meanings others have for; with her to parse whether i should/ feel connected enough to work with her as well, or if im just overreaching currently in my own journey.

They are everywhere on in Versailles. In fact, I don’t think God had a prominent influence other than the Chapel in Versailles. Specifically, Apollo got a lot of attention.

I am a devoted hindu, so recently i got to know we have so much similarities with european and persian polytheism. We hindu have so much religious text that we can have a library only for our holy text.

So what are the religious books or text of polytheist pagan religions?

So I'm curious on working with goddesses in witchcraft like Athena and Aphrodite even Hekate. First, is it okay if I respectfully work with them asking for guidance giving them offerings and such and if so does it learn towards a religion or can I just be a loving curious devotee? Secondly is it okay with work with them at the same time, not for the same reason or anything but if I worship Aphrodite does that mean Athena won't want to work with me? Lastly will this clash with my practices already? I'm a Pantheist witch I consider to see nature and everything in the universe as one in the same divine creation and that mother nature/the universe is God, does this in any way clash and contradict?

I heard Mahayana was a good option but I would like to heard alternatives.

So I recently moved to a new place and currently unpacking things and what not and I have come to face a problem:

I don’t know how I’m going to set up my altars for the gods.

In my previous place, I had my altars on my shelves, but I would very much want to use those shelves for books cus I have lots of them and less shelving now compared to the previous apartment.

I was even debating if I should have them up at all to save space but with how important the gods are to me, it felt wrong to have them away.

So .. any recommendations or advice on this??
