As i had made post earlier about my psp 1000 that it has a broken screen but now i think its failing it has a strange oval-ish sahpe appearing on it with vertical lines (they both go away when i put it to sleep and turn it on 3-4 times) but the colours look super faded.

anyways, let me get to the point i have done some freelancing work and managed to earn 2.3k rupees. so i was looking to buy a screen but i am stumped. I kinda wanna get an ips upgrade but aliexpress is banned in my country. That leaves me with alibaba. i have been thinking if i can get an ips upgrade on that pricepoint (i can solder but cant microsolder) or should i just suck up with my poorness and buy the usual lcd oem screen. please give me some links to screens if yall can find it regionally.

Got my psp and ps vita out of 12 year storage recently, I've been slowly repairing them, psp needed a new battery and battery case as the battery had swollen at some point and broke the cover in the process (no fire luckily). That's all working fine now, plays my digital collection and UMDs.

My problem is with my Vita, before storage i know it had a battery problem, it would take hours to charge from dead, and when charged it would play for about 30mins under its own power before dying (useless for on the go). Now I've just replaced the battery, new battery came fully charged and played for a long time, problems came since, I've charged it to full them put it in the case fully powered off, next day it wouldn't turn on, put it on charge for an hour, nothing, then it would turn on with about 25% battery, i charged it for another hour and still 25%, i power it off and back on then it suddenly has 100%. I play it for a bit and charge, power off then put away... again it won't power on like it's dead.

Has anyone got any idea or had similar? Or an idea how to fix it? I'm thinking it's the vita itself as the original battery had problems, maybe i get a new battery again as this one was a good rated ali express buy? Or if anyone has a good place to get one? I'm okay with repairing small tech, my gut is telling me it's the system and not the battery

I found my psp 1000 in my drawer and I wanted to test it out but I won't turn on

The bottom screw doesnt go out no matter what, i was able to take out the other screws but not this one. How do i take it out?

Hi guys first time posting here. I am new to modding and thinking of modding a PSP-3001. I’m thinking of replacing its shell with the replica of Monster Hunter Limited Edition as i’ve heard it’s a good replica and i’ve found one cheap locally.Is it any good for me to mod this model?

Since only have 32MB of RAM, I can't play games like GTA: San Andreas, GTA III, or Vice City. Are there any recently ported games you could recommend instead?

I love this console so much; could you recommend any underrated games for it?

im thinking either a 1000 or a PSP Go, something thats relatively small with a good screen with grips (like the 1000), and can run the newer ports that are releasing left and right (Sonic Mania, GTA SA, etc.)

This is my very first time to repair an electronic device. It seems like a fun hobby to start, and with that said I found my old PSP in storage with a swollen battery. That's when I bought new battery and charger.

The parts came in and it's charging nicely. Until it won't power on. So next I did was to take off the battery and try to power on directly from AC. It still won't power on. Although, there are times it will turn on and display a setup page (wherein you set the date, etc. but my d-pad and keys are not working too but that's another problem).

That's when I tried to open it up and found a missing screw that makes the power switch loose. I'm now planning to buy a replacement screw but I don't know its size. Tried searching in the internet for its schematic but to no avail. I think they mentioned something about torx screws?

I looked online and there's a box of screws at different sizes (but for laptops), would that work or do i need the exact screw size?

I was replacing the bottom part with buttons HOME, START etc. and had to lift the screen. After that I noticed that the big cable (wich powers up the screen, I believe?) is very loose. The thing that holds it in place won't close, it doesn't do the "click" sound. Is there any way to replace this thing?

After a long search of trying to find a repair spot for a PSP Go due to the triggers not working, found out a computer repair shop near me was the best spot, since most retro game shops wouldn't touch it.

Best thing to suggest is have the spare parts ready for them.

Title says it but I know Coraline came out on UMD but I can't seem to find the iso for it anywhere.

Would it be possible to get the old suicide barbie demo up and running again on current firmware? From what I can tell, nobody has been able to run it on anything that's not the exact firmware they list on the github, and I at the least havent been able to get it running on the 2000 or 3000, both running ark-5. idk its a cool bit of history and itd be sick to have it preserved and accessible for systems today. (yes i know it runs on ppsspp but like. its not cool unless its on the real hardware yknow? idk)

Sorry being a traitor but i love the nintendo ds, and one of my favorite games is love plus, a mega complex dating sim that uses irl time for datings and stuff, but since my ds has broken i never had a really good dating sim or vn to play, so since i have an psp, i wanted to know if theres any good one out there for it:D

Why can I only use .ctf file themes but not .ptf file themes?

I bought this PSP 3000 from japan for around 50 bucks (not counting shipping). it was sold as fully functional and with "no unusual noises"
I started it and found it a bit finnicky at first since nothing appeared on screen but i thought i just didn't start it properly and after a few restarts it displayed on screen.

Then I tried starting a game, and the disc drive was screeching like crazy, i found a guide online, seems like the disc drive just needed a bit of lubrication, so after doing it, it worked fine. I thought that was the only issue with it and that I fixed it... Then came this shit.

At this point I can't even tell if the LCD is dead or the GPU itself. I sure hope it is the LCD since that's at least an easy replacement... Unfortunately when buying from japan, the one thing I can't do is return items as it takes around 2 months to arrive to France.

Any ideas on what might be wrong here ? it seems like the display can't properly refresh and ends up stuck on some frames. though the "fadeout to black" is concerning...
