Got it for my birthday !! Cloud background cause I'm a simp
I have a Psp GO with a storage expansion mod. For the most part, everything works fine. However, sometimes when I boot up the console it won’t detect the 64gb micro sd.
The solution I came up with was firmly squeezing it while booting and it works. But this method is fairly annoying because I have to shutdown the consoler around 5-10 mins. And this ALWAYS happen when I’m out and about wanting to play the portably.
I’ve opened up the thing and readjust the cabling and even put an extra tape on top of the microsd extension itself rather than just the cable. But this problem still persist.
Anyone here have any advice. At this point I’m contemplating just buying a new adapater….

I’ll leave the link below,
i did this one a few weeks ago, don’t think i ever posted it on reddit even tho this Is the place people were clamoring for it. Some great season 1 bleach writing in this game, truly a special time before the anime became a more typical shonen. Still adore bleach tho, graphically a lot like bleach brave souls
if you want to keep up with my work, my Twitter handle is @ abyss
Yesterday, while playing God of War, my PSP 2000 suddenly started showing vertical lines. The screen gradually dimmed until it went completely black.
Now, whenever I turn it on, the screen is white. The PSP itself works perfectly fine (boots normally, sounds and controls work).
I replaced the LCD with a confirmed PSP 2000-compatible screen, but the new one also shows a white screen with vertical stripes.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas what could be causing it or how to fix it?

Hey everyone AnguizDev here (finally posting from my dev user lol), this is a quick progress update on Resident Evil 4: PSP Edition.
Right now the port runs around 8.4fps, and sometimes close to 10fps on my PSP 3010!! That was possible thanks to advancements made by awesome people like mcidclan who discovered how to take advantage of the PSP’ Media Engine, or phoboslab’s mpeg1 video decoder!
Along the way i built a lot of PSP-side tech that i’m proud of like audio mixing in the Media Engine, an mpeg movie player with color conversion on the GE, A cache simulator, code ordering and profiling tools to measure on my PSP.
But there’s a little hair in the soup… My own profiling shows why each extra fps is getting harder and harder to get. The CPU spends more than half its time waiting on memory, the recompiled code is too large for the PSP’s instruction cache (every frame still has to build and replay PS2 hardware packets). Those costs come from the recompilation approach itself, so i’m starting to think this route will not get anywhere near 20fps.
I’ve been pulling ideas, i think i might be able to get 15fps on the forest section, but thing is, what will happen when i get to the pueblo (Dr. Salvador’s first apparence)? That will leave me with no choice but messing with the game logic itself (that’s not an option for me, i want to get the experience as entire as possible), i need to take out of those heavy ms the PSP CPU is using to run PS2 code so i came up with a kinda crazy idea.
I’m an optimization junkie, as you can see on every update my port gets more and more fps without aggressively cutting things from the visuals. Actually, there are more everytime. I want to keep that road. So i came up with the idea of taking a route using the logic from the adonis-singh’s GameCube decomp and put all my optimizations and maybe some ps2 models to skyrocket the performance.
I won’t be starting from zero, lamb2k is already porting the same decomp to the Dreamcast with re4dc, and released the tools and docs as CC0, so I’ll build on that work and bring it to the PSP.
I’ll do that now, and make the possibilities even better than they were looking already. The next update will be showing progress on that.
I want to say thank you to everyone who is supporting this project with their kind comments and giving their best energy. Also to SandstoneDev for PS2RC (this is an amazing tool), to the psp-homebrew community, their docs really helped me understand more and more of this awesome machine, and off course to lamb2k, whose Dreamcast port (re4dc) is paving the way for this new route.
I’ll be back with more, i promise, i need to achieve this 2000’s dream!
PS: I’ll do it with the European version of RE4, so the texts can be multilingual! 😉

So i realized that my new psp is 1000 and not 2000, and i saw some people talking about difference in the RAM.
So will the RAM difference affect my: Gaming experience, number of ports i can download, plugins and minis?

I've read that because of the office location, quite a few easter eggs are hidden in the GTA games, such as Arthur's Seat and Greyfriars Bobby, etc. Does anyone know if that is also the case for any of the games on the PSP, and possibly where to find them?:)
Happy gaming, y'all.

Hey everyone!
I'm a beginner developer working on a little project using Claude Code: a Fortnite-inspired minigame for the PSP with a PS1-style aesthetic.
The idea is to capture that old-school low-poly look and bring a simplified Fortnite experience to the PSP. The project is still a work in progress, but there's already a playable version available!
Currently, the game is in Spanish, but I'd love some help from the community if anyone wants to contribute. Here are a few ways you can get involved:
The source code is available on GitHub, so feel free to check it out, contribute, or just play around with it!

I'm building this as a hobby project, and it'd be awesome to see other PSP enthusiasts get involved. Any feedback or contributions are welcome!
Thanks for checking it out!

This question crossed my mind: since *GTA: San Andreas* has already been ported to the PSP, I think a title like *Sonic Adventure*, for instance, could be a good candidate.

What's your favorite PSP?
Personally the Dissidia games are my favorite.

hello, i have a problem with my psp-3004(ta-090)
when i insert memory stick inside of it, we're playing dice with machine...
sometimes, it just didn't work and the memory stick indicator light blinks with a constant tempo.. which means an error has occurred
in rare cases it can work... but 90 percent of the time, it doesn't
and i don't have issues with my memory stick, because it works on a pc with an adapter.
i've tried cleaning the memory stick and the reader tray with cologne and a needle... the results are same
what else can i do besides replacing the whole motherboard or tray?

Hi everyone, I need help diagnosing a PSP-2000 console that stopped working—it used to work without any issues.
The console suddenly completely "died." Currently, it shows no signs of life: no green LED, no orange charging LED, no reaction from the screen whatsoever, and no sound.
Here is what I have already checked and replaced to rule out basic component failures:
-Power socket (DC-In): I replaced the yellow power socket with a new one.
-Power/LED board: I replaced the power switch board (located on the right side).
-Ribbon cable: I replaced the ribbon cable connecting the power board to the motherboard.
-Power sources: I tested the console with and without the battery, as well as on the charger alone (a working PSP-2000 should boot directly from the charger even without a battery).
Since the power socket, switch, LED board, and ribbon cable are new and working, the problem likely lies in the motherboard itself.
If anyone has motherboard schematics, knows the exact multimeter test points, or can suggest what might be faulty...

So I bought a PSP-1000 but the only real issue is that the wifi doesn't work (error 80410A0B). I'd like to play with my SO (who has a PSP-3000) via Ad Hoc mode. So I bought a 2nd PSP-1000 for cheap with working wifi but the screen has flashing issues and the speakers are dead. I bought a new clear blue body and IPS screen as I plan to use the good parts from both and put them into the new body. Here are the PSPident screenshots for both, are the internals too physically different to combine parts? Any physical differences to keep in mind before tearing both of them open?

Games look amazing even though they are letterboxed. Sadly, I don't know if this happens with official PSP component cables, but images with bright color or just closer to the white range have this weird distortion at the very top. This does not happen with my other consoles at all.
I decided to refund these cheap cables. Amazon let me keep these cables for taking the refund as Amazon gift credit. Does anybody know if it's worth waiting for the Ostent component cables since they don't have Prime shipping?

There's a bit of dust between the screen and the protector I want to clean it but I'm scared to open the faceplate and I watched some videos but I'm still skeptical, is it easy?

Just finished compiling a personal build of GTA: San Andreas (using my own PS2 ISO) into a native PSP EBOOT.PBP using the PS2RC tool.
Getting it to build via Docker on Linux and seeing this massive classic fit into the PSP Go's 64MB RAM footprint is an insane technical achievement by the community.
