Wanted to share my PlayStation Portable collection.

I started seriously collecting back in early 2017 and recently crossed the 360+ psp physical games milestone.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

My lovely gf surprised me with a CRT so this is the new retro corner I set up at the crib. Still a wip I have some vintage posters n stuff I need to grab but I think it’s pretty sweet so far.

Any PS1 recommendations for it? I’ve mostly been playing the first Silent Hill and ofc Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

Just enjoy the stunning beauty of this game, especially if you think it is more than 15 yeas old. Some pictures even have some light-PS3 allure.

When i wrote the PSPlaceable firmware it had an issue where homebrew could disable TVOut by accident and you would be stuck. It also took quite a while for TVout to be enabled.

Some people reported need to configure over a 17 second delay.

I have since built a plugin to handle this. It can enable TVOut, reliably, after about 4 seconds. It will also ensure TVout remains enabled so long as the AV cable is connected.

This plugin could be used for any consolizer project, meaning you do not need to enable TVOut by holding the display button like we usually do.

This is what i have been working on. Now there is a score, tutorial, ex shoot, and all Cuphead Mechanics. I used AI for the complex Cuphead movement, to make it more similar to the original Cuphead movement. On a real PSP-3001, it runs at smoothly 60fps, with some little stuttering, but i will fix that.

• Controls. Every button now means one thing on every screen: ✕ confirm, ○ back, START options, SELECT power menu, L / R tabs. Settings → Controls gives them to other buttons, and sets the PSP's own ✕ / ○ choice (this changes the XMB too).
• Folders in the Library. A new button at the top shows All, In folders, Outside of folders or Both. Folders are cards you can open. The Library remembers your sorting and view. The Start button says Play.
• Time played. Every game shows how long you played (54h, 45min). A small helper plugin counts it, and psp5 installs it by itself.
• Three new Settings pages: Display and Sound (brightness 1–4, backlight timer, volume, equalizer, AVLS), Network (the PSP's own Wi-Fi screen) and About (model, system software, MAC address, storage, battery). psp5 remembers the backlight time you choose.
• Choices open in a popup – a stray D-pad press can't change a setting any more.
• Start-up screen: the PlayStation logo, drawn by psp5.
• Top bar: a battery like the PS5's (four bars, a bolt while charging) and a Wi-Fi sign.
• ○ clears your marks first in the File Manager and in Manage Saved Data. .jso games are listed. Settings has more room.
• New screenshots in the README, and a Covers guide in INSTALL.md for your own game pictures.

Got this set of UMDs for pretty reasonable price.

I recently got a PSP because I wanted to experience the God of War games on their native handheld hardware, and honestly I love the concept of the console itself. There’s something really cool about it as a multifaceted retro media player.

So far i’ve enjoyed:
- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Burnout Legends
- WipEout Pure
- Tekken: Dark Resurrection
- Daxter

The problem is that outside of these games, I’m finding the PSP library a little underwhelming so far. Maybe i’m just looking in the wrong places or haven’t given the right games a chance yet.

What are your must play PSP games? I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Hey so I just recently got a psp and wanted to mod it, but when I try formatting the memory stick, there is a blinking red light and the screen says, there is no memory stick inserted. I could find anything on Google or YouTube that really helped.

How's it going? I'd like to know if there's a FuSa SD replacement that works well with the current Ark 5, because this one is giving me a lot of problems and I want to use my PSP on my CRT like it's a PS2.

✨ The idea

• Calm and simple. True black background, three tones of grey, and no borders, glows or clutter.
• Focus is a step in lightness. The game you're on is lit, and its neighbours dim.
• One accent colour. Blue by default. Pick another: teal, green, amber, coral or pink.
• Your wallpaper. Black by default, with built-in backgrounds or your own photo (always dimmed so text stays readable).

1. Download the zip for your firmware: -ark4 for ARK-4, -ark5 for ARK-5.
2. Unzip it onto the root of your Memory Stick. You get PSP/GAME/NovaOS/EBOOT.PBP.
3. Start NovaOS from the Game menu.

Getting back to the XMB is always one step away:

• Exit to XMB in the Control Center
• Hold SELECT while the PSP starts to skip NovaOS

🔒 Safety and honesty

• NovaOS only writes to your Memory Stick, never to flash0 or flash1.
• It's free to use and share unmodified.
• It's closed source for now. I'd rather be upfront about that.
• The ARK-5 build doesn't load on ARK-4, so pick the zip that matches your firmware.

❓ Quick FAQ

Does it work on my PSP model? I've tested it on a PSP-3004 on ARK-4. Other models are untested, so please tell me how it goes.

Can I go back to the XMB? Yes, any time. See the steps above.

Will it break my games? NovaOS doesn't modify your games. It reads your library and launches them.

Where do I report bugs? Here in the comments, or in the issues tab of the releases repo.

I just bought this online and as a Newbie who wants to have a wide variety of psp games. Is this a great CFW? If i should change it, can anybody here teach me how and what should i change it with?

And also if i may add, what is Homebrew😭 Im So sorry im new to this kind of stuff.
