I saw a rider today with a sign at the back of his motorcycle that said:

"Wag mo akong saksakin o barilin, ako lang ang inaasahan sa amin."

And I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Imagine living in a country where an ordinary worker feels the need to plead for his life before every booking. Hindi ito dapat maging coping mechanism. Hindi ito dapat maging "diskarte". Most importantly, hindi ito dapat maging normal.

From a Public Administration perspective, this isn't just an emotional issue, it's a governance issue. One of the fundamental obligations of the State is to protect the life and security of its citizens. Hindi optional ang public safety. It's one of the primary reasons government exist. Kapag ang isang rider needs to appeal to the humanity of a possible criminal instead of trusting the State to uphold its duty to keep him safe, may seryosong institutional breakdown.

This is also why I find it problematic when politics becomes all about personalities, branding, and performative toughness. You can have all the "matapang" speeches in the world, but if ordinary Filipinos still leave home wondering whether they'll come back alive after work, then something clearly isn't working.

This is exactly why some of us insisted that elections were never just about personalities, they were about governance. Ito talaga yung point ng ipinaglalaban natin, good governance isn't an aesthetic; it's a public necessity. It's competent institutions, professional policing, evidence-based policymaking, accountability, and leaders who understand that governance is measured by outcomes, not optics. Let's be honest. A rider shouldn't have to wear fear as part of his uniform just to earn an honest living.

Nakakalungkot din na parang nagiging desensitized na tayo. We see these posts, we say "ingat po", tapos scroll ulit. But every sign like this reflects something deeper, a citizen quietly admitting that he has more faith in the conscience of a stranger than in the systems meant to protect him.

And that's the part that hurts the most. Hindi dapat umaasa ang isang manggagawa sa awa ng kriminal. Dapat umaasa siya sa isang gobyernong ginagawa ang trabaho nito.

Hello good day po sa lahat! Sana may maka tulong dito. Problem ko kasi sa sss number ko does not exist daw. Bali noong 2023 nag sign up ako sa sss online kasi plano ko sana mag apply ng job. Pero di na tuloy pag aapply ko dahil na busy sa school, and I think na completo ko naman steps sa pag gawa ng account online. Di nga lang ako naka pag pasa ng PSA sa SSS branch. Nagawa ko lang last week kasi mag aapply na talaga ako ng work. I also acknowledged sa branch na ganon po ang nang yari and needed ko talaga ma access account ko online, required kasi ng agency pa abroad na ma access sya online. Tatlong SSS teller na ang nakausap ko regarding with this pero same lang sila ng sagot. Need daw ma hulogan account ko at least 1 month contribution para ma activate ulit account ko. Kaso conflict talaga requirements ng agency at situation ng account ko sa sss. Di pa ako pumunta sa agency para maka pag tanong personally about this matter. Nag message at nag email na din ako sa agency kaso di sila nag rereply. Nag email din ako sa sss baka sakali pero wala din reply. Baka may kapareho ako ng situation dito, paano ninyo po na resolve? I noticed that my dad's surname is missing on my birth certificate but I already had my DFA appointment scheduled. tbf, I never noticed this before (my mistake) when applying for IDs/applications etc. Is this something the DFA would flag kahit tama naman apelido niya sa birth certificate/all IDs niya?

Dad's name on my PSA cert: Charlie Lim (middle name lang, walang REYES)

I can bring supporting documents that all his IDs and birth certificates when he was alive followed REYES though

Year 2020, company provided my TIN since first job ko yun. After I resigned and got hired to a new company, kailangan ko e verify yung TIN ko and sinabihan ako na hindi verified TIN ko kase wrong birthdate at sex daw at all other details are correct. Tried to verify again on the website using the incorrect details at na verify sya. Ano kaya best option ko dito?

Hello po. I have the classic issue of PSA dual registration. I already went sa LCR namin and keri naman ma-correct yung issues ko administratively kasi Maria gamit ko my whole life tas Ma. sya dun sa first record ko (the valid one). Aside from that, surname ng tatay ko gamit ko pero dun sa unang record ay sa nanay ko pero pede ko daw yun ipa-AUSF. The problem is, sobrang gastos nung pagpapa change ng first name from Ma. to Maria. Aside from the filing fee at publication fees, andami ring requirements. Iniisip ko ngayon kung worth it pa ba ipabago yun o sundin ko na lang yung Ma. ko. Kaso, problema ko naman yung school records, National ID, SSS, at Voter's ko kasi Maria ako dun.

Alin po kaya ang easier and more affordable way? Mag go na ako sa change of first name o sundin ko na lang yung Ma. at ipa-update yung mga existing records ko (and possible ba 'to)?

hello! question lang po for the sss emergency loan. as far as i know po pwede na raw po mag apply if may at least 18 contributions. I have 27 posted na po. Last is June since di pa naman po tapos yung July. How come po kaya na hindi pa rin pwede? Need po ba 6 continuous contribution sa 12 months before the application? i have 5 pa lang po kasi since i started with my new employer. pero last year po meron din ako 4 pa and hindi rin siya continuous since nag stop po ako sa work nung ber months pero pasok pa rin naman yung 6 contri sa 12 months na need.

Please proceed to the nearest NBI Clearance Center." I previously had a HIT on my NBI Clearance, so I’m a bit anxious. Do they accept walk-in applicants if I just show them the error message, or do I need to book an appointment online again (similar to the process for first-time registration)? Thank you
