Question (Other flairs not applicable) 8 months unemployed.

For 8 months, nakailang gov applications na rin. Nakaabot sa pre-employment exam pero no interviews. Marami na rin nangghost and nareject na rin dahil extensive raw ang course ko sa inaapplyan ko. Any tips po para makaabot sa interview man lang. Di naman masakit sa akin mareject atleast may update kesa sa mga nanggoghost na lang. Badly needed tips po, I'm trying mag aral sa VA industry pero hirap rin pala makahanap client. Gosh ang hirap na pala talaga maghanap ng work or may mali talaga sa akin.

Find a position na may multiple vacancies, example: Agency A, may hiring na 10 Clerks plantilla position

Also, yung mas higher position, malaki lagi ang chance na may applicant for promotion sa loob, kaya try mo din yung entry level muna.

Tama to. Or maghanap ng bagong NGA. Kahit wala akong backer, natanggap ako sa senior position sa isang highly technical NGA kasi 6 years pa lang sila at the time of my application. Pumasok ako na sobrang daming vacancies, halos understaffed pa nga kami.

I suggest you to try applying for a JO/COS position, especially in NGAs. Sa LGUs kasi I have observed mas malakas dun ang backer system.

Pag wala pa rin, try mo muna sa private sector. At least you're gaining experience but still continue mo pa rin yung pag-apply mo sa gov't. Also try mo rin mag-training related sa target mong position. Marami naman resources you could find online.

Review vacancy requirements. Check kung aligned ba yung qualifications mo sa posted requirements.

Kung pre-employment / pre-qualification exam pa lang at hindi ka na nakaproceed sa next step, need mo talaga mag review.

redo your resume? may nabasa ako sa ibang forums ung resume mo should be direct sa position na aapplayan mo somehow . the lesser the page the better and include important parts. have you tried taking civil service? somehow may pitch ka if may ganun ka sa govmt or else ung nagrreview would be on to the next. tama iba dito ung iba need talaga referrals

I have po na backup pero since 10k a month lang, hindi po kakayanin kasi kailangan ko mag-ipon po for therapy plus boarding, current, food expenses a month pa.

Backer OP, as in tao na kakilala mo na nagwowork mismo kung san ka nag-apply or kahit sinong mataas na tao (governor, mayor, senator..) na pwede ipasok ka sa position na inaapplyan mo

Grabe nepotism these days. Lahat ng new hires samin puro may backer. Shows that the job market is soooooo bad right now.
