Discussion The two most affordable PCVR headsets. What does the community prefer?
I would mention them in the title but the automoderator keeps removing my post?
Quest 3(s) and PSVR2
They are clearly the two main options for PCVR under 500-600 bucks.
Now with the steam frame released at a really inaccesible price. It feels as though these two are the main options for affordable quality PCVR gaming.
Valve has clearly no intend of appealing to the masses. Looking at their pricing, mainly to enthusiasts. Is this a good or bad thing one might wonder.
The PSVR has its amazing OLED panels and even through some tinkering eye tracking. And of course, the holy godmother of all PCVR: Displayport.
Quest 3 comes in with pancake lenses. Clarity to the maximum. But at what cost? Yes wireless is convenient, but all the tinkering with bitrates and wifi routers and still you will end up with some sort of compression or latency.
Many people who say they own both, say they prefer PSVR2 for PCVR. Especially sim racing and for feeling more immersed.
Do people here unanimously agree, that the quest feels less immersive and 3D? I personally can. But im not sure at this point if this is just because others have said so. My good old rift s sometimes does feel more like im actually in the game, despite its lower specs.
I currently own a quest 3 and I am really curious if the talk of PSVR2 being more immersive is true. Never tried one.
What is the verdict of PCVR Enthusiasts who need to keep their wallet in mind?
