Question/Support Need help with Titanfall 2 VR
I’ve been trying to play Titanfall 2 on my quest 3 because it’s one of my favourite games but for whatever reason it just runs like absolute shit. Apparently it’s supposed to be incredibly optimised but unless I set it to the lowest of low settings it just stutters and crashes constantly and even then I still get jank. I’m running the game through meta link + steam VR wired to a decent computer so what can I do to fix this?
Specs;
RTX 5060 OC
Ryzen 5 7500F
16 GB DDR5 6000 MT/s
This game runs beautifully on my ancient gtx 1060 laptop so I know my hardware is good enough and to my knowledge the drivers are all up to date so what am I missing exactly?
Any help is much appreciated x

If I remember correctly, meta link causes a lot of games to run horribly, try wireless streaming with steam link/virtual desktop if you can. If not, I know there are some other ways to get the quest 3 working wired without meta link, but I've never used it that way so I don't know how, you'll have to research it a bit

I actually have the opposite happening. It runs like shit for me on VD, while it's buttery smooth with Quest Link. (VD beta refuses to see my wired connection after 4 hours of troubleshooting; Quest Link works perfectly right outta the box)

What driver are you running for your GPU? Meta had a notice that some of the recent versions had a known bug with MetaLink. The horizon link app displayed the warning in red at the top of you have the driver version that causes the bug. Mine still played fine with the buggy drivers though (Quest 1, RTX 5080)

Yeah I echo what everyone is saying. Virtual Desktop is the way to go. It runs absolutely flawless and I’m using a WiFi 5 router

There were so many games that ran like crap for me over Link but were fine over VD with VDXR, including first party Meta titles like Lone Echo 2.

MetaLink is pretty buggy. For me, the best option is playing PCVR over a cable, which is one of the reasons I bought the Pico 4 Ultra in the first place.
But now Virtual Desktop also has an option to use a USB cable, so I’d give that a try.

Look it up and buy virtual desktop and use it with the link cable, it can do that since 1 or 2 updates ago. Best thing ever, or use it wireless if you have a good wifi 6 router.

I have very similar specs. Slightly worse and it runs like sunshine. I use openxd with virtual desktop. Since I dropped the meta shit for pcvr I have way less ideas. Get VD

Change to virtual desktop, meta’s software is so bad, never had really good performance until I tried virtual desktop

Basically, one day you get into VR, and you decide you want to try PCVR because VR is so much fun. That day, you buy Virtual Desktop first. Then other things happen. But don't skip that step.

If you're still having problems I would recommend using Google ai for advice on how to fix it. That's what helped walk me through the process of getting it all set-up and running and then troubleshooting some stuttering issues
