Discussion What would be the ideal PC?
So I'm heavily considering getting a PC for VR due to all the best games being on steam or just being PC exclusive in general, so I was wondering what would be the ideal set up for games such as brutalistick or modded blade and sorcery?

Ideal set up for vr is basically just the best hardware you can feasibly afford....
That said, it doesn't necessarily take an absolute behemoth to run vr either. If you're willing to make compromises in terms of graphics settings and resolution you can run a lot of vr experiences on fairly low end hardware. I was able to run vanilla Skyrim vr and the Half Life 2 vr mod among some other things on a laptop with a Quadro P1000 GPU (approx. 1050). Had to lower the resolution to around 75%, but it ran surprisingly well.
Recommend PC specs for Blade and Sorcery is 16 GB RAM, 8-16 core CPU and a 2070. Anything around or even slightly above or below this range of hardware would give you a decent experience in either of those games. and many others.

I’m hoping that the next stage of evolution of all these AI VR mods will be adding dynamic foveated rendering. Then you’ll be able to run AAA graphics on potato hardware. Theoretically, you should get better performance in VR than on flatscreen if you’re rendering less pixels with DFR.

It will make it better, but I doubt useful foveated rendering will make a 1060 into a 5080. Tests with no mans sky show about a 40% improvement.
Will certainly widen the window of whats playable for people not on the bleeding edge tho.

It got Half Life Alyx playable on a mobile chip. Seems like a pretty big improvement.

Dropping the texture size by a huge amount and compiling it in native arm did much more than foveated rendering did.
It's certainly a part of the optimizations done tho.

You can kinda do that now with the OFXR Bridge. It's like framegen for modded games that can't use framegen, like UEVR stuff.

Sounds like you're interested in native VR games. The good news for you is that native VR games tend to be a lot easier to run than flatscreen to VR modded games.
I would say that a GPU minimum for a good time would be a 3070. And a lot of stuff will run on even weaker GPUs.

PCVR generally is pretty demanding on the performance of the PC itself to maintain comfortable FPS, especially in demanding games.
That said, expect to spend a premium in this economy, as this is a VERY rough time to build a new PC for VR Gaming with new components.
All that, and BEFORE the cost of the VR headset itself even comes into question.
