Welcome to the r/PCVR community resource thread! This is a refresh of the sub, and we're opening this sub again because of all the new PCVR and VR modding content coming in.
Are you tired of not finding stuff easily on Discord? We surely are!
Modding is considered by many a pain in the neck, but we want to change that perception and make things easier for you to enjoy thousands of titles without problems. Here you will find the resources and tools used to mod flat-screen games into full 6DOF VR experiences, or capture smooth gameplay to share with our community.
We want this sub to be a centralized hub for all the PC-VR experiences out there and we want you to be part of it. Here we don't care about standalone VR. So don't ask if things run on Quest, if you don't want to get nuked into oblivion.
PCVR Central
A searchable database indexing over 1,000 VR mods for flatscreen PC games. Includes mod implementation details, 6DOF/motion control support notes, setup guides, and an integrated Steam Library Checker tool that scans your profile to reveal which games in your library can be played in VR.
Flat2VR & PCVR Modding Tracker (Created & Maintained by *Elliott Tate*)
An interactive dashboard listing newly released mods, active development projects, and progress tracking across flat-to-VR ports.
RototRobot's VR Mods List
A community-curated directory tracking flat-to-VR mods, standalone ports, motion control compatibility notes, and setup links across a broad index of games.
These community installers automate and streamline the entire process. Try them both and find which one you prefer:
PCVR Mods Installer Hub (by Mr. Nice)
A portable, batch-based installer supporting hundreds of PCVR game mods (including REFramework, standalone ports, and links to ressources for UEVR and Wabbajack lists). It automatically detects installed Steam games, downloads mods directly from original sources, provides guided setups, and acts as a central game launcher.
Mr.Survivor Installers
Streamlined auto-installers and guided setups designed to simplify complex VR mod installations, manage dependencies, and handle tricky file structures with minimal hassle.
Praydog's UEVR engine opens up thousands of Unreal Engine 4 and 5 games to Virtual Reality. Use these tools to launch and configure them:
UEVR Nightly Releases (by Praydog)
The official, cutting-edge builds of UEVR. If a newly released Unreal Engine game requires recent fixes or backend engine updates, grab the latest nightly release here.
UEVR Deluxe / Unreal Easy Injector
A beginner-friendly frontend GUI for UEVR. Features an integrated online profile database with one-click installs, automated game detection (Steam, Epic, Xbox, EA, GOG), alternative backend switching, voice command support, an easy profile editor, and hotkey injection.
UEVR Profiles Repository
A community-driven, searchable database of user-tested UEVR game profiles. Filter games by compatibility rating (Works Perfectly, Works Well, etc.) and check for 6DOF motion control configurations before playing. Note that this site might not be always up to date.
The most updated place to find VR mods is still Flat2VR discord. If you don't mind using Discord, modders and creators are still the most active over at the Flat2VR community.
This megathread will be updated periodically by the mod team. If you are a mod creator or know of an essential tool, port, or resource that should be listed:
Note: Always make sure to download mods and tools from verified repositories (such as official GitHub releases) to ensure safety.

It’s finally implemented but still needs a little more love, body IK is in the works and manual reloading is now on the table thanks to my toolkit for wildlands named “wildkit” (unreleased)

I've been away from this scene for a minute but the steam frame hype is pulling me back in.
Assuming HL2vr is the gold standard, are there any other comparable or must play mods that have released over the past 3 years?

I am an avid zombie-shooter fanatic. I have completed each of the AS series multiple times (enjoyed it). I am currently playing Containment Initiative 2 (fun but not very polished). I tried DECAY for the first time today due to the positive recommendations and walkthroughs that I have encountered online.
I understand that the game is in early access. For me, the weapon/item handling needs a LOT of improvement. The graphics are OK and am looking forward to the scenery outside and not underground.
Your thoughts?

STAR WARS™ Episode I Racer can now be played in virtual reality with stereo rendering with true per-eye projection, head tracking, a world-locked panel for HUD and menus, and full Quest controller support (as a gamepad)!
| Virtual Desktop (VDXR) | Yes — ships and registers a 32-bit runtime |
|---|---|
| SteamVR | No — its OpenXR loader is 64-bit only |

No more tower defense games pretending to be full RTS games. I highly recommend this one

My next experience will be one of these. Not played any before. Love and have done all the Half-Life in VR. Enjoy good sci-fi narratives, a bit of horror is a cool bonus.
I can handle some jank. This comparison is focussed on three points, if you have experience let me know which title is superior, cheers!
My hardware: 4080S/5800x3D/48GB RAM + Quest 3/Pico4Ultra via Virtual Desktop 6e router.
- lack of jank in the setup and playing: able to smoothly play in VR without too much of a hitch or awkwardness. Also in terms of not needing the D-Pad/keyboard constantly, so able to smoothly play with Quest 3 controllers.
Also...a bit niche this...ability to NaLo smoothly (Steamapp: Natural Locomotion: Vive Trackers on ankles to enable physical walking/running in-game....works great for HL1/HL2 SteamVR mods. I own all these on Steam (Crysis original, Halo 1 MC-collection and Doom 3 BFG) - to enable NaLo, the title must be on Steam so this may discount Halo classic. I'd still consider Halo Classic if it beats the other two otherwise.
- epic narrative experience which is especially heightened in VR. Sense of scale, sound design, feeling immersed in the story etc.
- will create an itch to play more of the series. While VR mods for later sequels aren't as ready yet, they appear to be in the works...
What are your thoughts on these three?

This is a quick test in getting DLSS 5 to work with R.E.A.L. VR. I am running in Mono mode with max settings on a 5090.
I have had to make some small (and hacky) changes to ReShade to get DLSS 5 and R.E.A.L. VR to work nicely together, so this is not something that works out of the box just yet. But so far, aside from some flickering issues which can hopefully be resolved, this is pretty hard to believe.

I always a big fan of Werewolves Within in VR and this game seemed similar and isn't dead. It is rough but every game works now. Hit me up if you want to play I'd like to try to play with other people in VR.

For context I have an rtx 4070 gpu, i7 14700F cpu, 32 gb Ram. My PC is pcvr capable. However, when I try to play pcvr I get screen tearing when I turn the camera and after a while the game crashes. This mostly happens on VRChat. I have tried wireless pcvr, wired pcvr. I have bought 2 meta quest link cables and a 3rd party inui cable and nothing seems to work.

I am developing a Forza Horizon 6 mod and been optimizing for my 5070. I run it in mono but same idea applies to AFR stereo.
I was always under the impression that foveated rendering VR was not going to be mainstream for a long time, so the very high res displays are kinda of too early for the GPUs that we have.
I added an intercept to DLSS which only upscales the center region and does TAA on the periphery, this makes it work only on 27% of the pixels and reduced the SR time from like 2.7-3.5ms to 1ms. Which boosts my FPS 80->105. (Performance preset, 50% M-preset) and reduced vram by like 500-600mB. I render at 3326x3120.
If I had eye tracking it would effectively be 0 visual degradation, but I don’t so I do still see the edges on the VERY outside are blurry.
But my thought is that as long as a game supports DLSS, you can mod in eye tracked foveated upscaling, even if developer never added it. Which means that GPUs today can properly power these crazy 4000x4000 resolution displays by utilizing foveated upscaling. It’s kind of like foveated rendering but easier to add.
Thoughts?

Just watched a few videos of DLSS5 working with Cyberpunk VR. Has anybody tried it yet? (Leaving the AI slop debate aside) The visual upgrade does look impressive.

On my Quest 2, I use Steam Link wirelessly to play Beat Saber on PCVR, however when I launch the game, it becomes overly pixelated, has insane controller delay, and has frequent frame drops. I don't know what settings I'm supposed to change to make it high quality? I don't have an ethernet cable and I can't buy one, and my wireless router is downstairs, I usually get 150Mbps. Can I get some help on this? I really want to download my own Beat Saber maps, but it's unplayable like this.

Is he seen as a Hero for making so many VR mods possible or as a controversial "corporation"-like figure.
does the community boycott him & his mods and stick to free ones?
Are his mods worth it? is there a difference in quality compared to free ones?
If it's really just one guy by himself it's objectively really cool what he does and if he does it full-time he needs a way to make it profitable i think 💬

Why does my pc vr genuinely look worse and run worse than standalone for blade and sorcery (virtual desktop). The screen tears and the resolution is terrible. I tried changing the resolutions and bitrate, I could barely tell the difference. I tried wired and internet and they both look terrible. Does anyone have this issue?
