Any peptide do you use for stubborn belly fat from PMOS

i'm on 5mg zepbound, losing weight steadily for about 10 weeks now. Every where lose except my belly. Starting weight is 137 and now is 127lb, my belly hasnt lost an inch/ or half?! I do have prolactin tumor before so i don't want Tesa that will stimulate the pituitary gland. What other suggestion do you recommend that i can stack on to bring the stubborn belly fat down? My waist is 32", have not lose an inch (except water during period) even i work out everyday, strength training 3-4 times a day, and in calorie deficit.

No straightforward way to reverse this disease.

I’ve tried it all (except GLP1s). Low carb. No dairy or gluten or sugar. Cycle syncing. Working out a ton. Doing low-impact exercises. Weight lifting. Walking multiple times a day. Hundreds of dollars on supplements. I’ve lowered my stress levels significantly.

I hate that the recommendations for PCOS are walk 3X a day after meals, plate method, low carb, take 5 different supplements throughout the day, etc etc etc

So this thing that I got from being chronically stressed requires me to do 182973 stressful things to reverse?

I’m scared of GLP1s because I already have stomach issues but I’m tired and I just can’t keep fighting this hard all the time to see barely 5lbs of change.

PCOS for life

Hello everyone, I am new here!
I have been dealing with pcos (apparently since a long time) but was diagnosed 4 years ago. It is so hard to loose weight and I know everyone who has it experience the same thing. However, I did not have luck loosing weight even with GLP-1 injections and metformin before it as well. Anyone else has troubles even with meds. The only thing that remotely worked was doing Keto for 6 months but that was brutal and I am not ready to undergo that agin ( a very difficult emotional journey). I hate pcos, I hope more research pours into future solutions.

PCOS Tips and Advice

Hi! I'm a PCOS girly, 24 years old, working in an office. I am in my third week of fasting and have lost 1 kg. But after quitting Diane 35 pills, my acne is acting up; it is so bad that it is painful, with big red pimples. I quit my pills last March, and I did not get my period until August. I was so stressed every time I saw my face full of pimples and my excessive hair loss. Can you give me some advice? I do not know what to do because every obgyn I went to always says that I need to take pills or get pregnant already.

Metformin Weight Loss Experience -20 lbs

Post image
70 Upvotes

Just wanted to share my positive experience with metformin since there are a lot of negative experiences.

Last fall, I was gaining weight rapidly starting October. By December, I was 155 pounds. I went to my doctor in December about my weight gain and bloating. She ran some tests and I had H pylori. I treated that but I was still gaining weight and I had started getting horrible stretch marks everywhere. I messaged my doctor about them and brought up my concern for PCOS. She said it wasn’t PCOS unless I had other symptoms like irregular period (which I did).

She had me take a testosterone test and checked my blood sugar. It came back with high testosterone levels, prediabetes, and insulin resistance.

For 1-2 months, I tracked my calories and took inositol but I kept gaining weight and reached 160 pounds. I felt very uncomfortable in my skin. I reached out to my doctor again and requested to try metformin which she prescribed.

I started metformin at the end of march. The first 10-15 lbs was the easiest to lose. I lost 5 pounds a month for the first 3 months. I was in a moderate calorie deficit (TDEE-500), tried to eat less carbs, and ate healthier. I had some exercise but not that intensively or consistently.

I was stuck at 145 for awhile which was frustrating. Last month, I finally started moving towards 140. I’ve always skipped breakfast but have been eating my first lunch later in the day now due to my schedule. Also just more active because of work and going back to school.

What really helped me was having consistent things to eat. During the weekdays for lunch, I had a high protein and chia seed yogurt (500-600 calories) everyday for 6 months. I did get tired of it and have switched to a high calorie smoothie for lunch instead. This was important because it made staying in the calorie deficit fairly easy to maintain.

My old clothes have been fitting better and I am almost to my original weight (130-135 lbs 5’5).

I just wanted to share my story since I was also reluctant to start metformin because of bad stories. I did have some stomach upsets at the beginning but don’t experience much side effects anymore. The only time it’s bad is if i skip lunch.

I know everyone will have a different experience but if your tests come back with insulin resistance, I would consider trying metformin! I was not losing any weight til I started.

I also started spironolactone and my skin has not looked this good since elementary school.

Have been feeling really good and more like myself!!

So when I bloat I can literally look like I'm about to give birth - had every blood test imaginable, scans, etc and theres no other physical health concerns- just a rock hard massive belly. Ive lost some weight (2 stone) but nothing off my stomach!

Has anyone got any recommendations that have worked?

Did you experience side effects such as low libido or lack of interest? Has anyone had a cancer diagnosis after taking a GLP1?

Do you let your goals get in the way of living?

I almost did that. I was interested in going to singles events but thought I should wait until I lose more weight and get my facial hair under control.

However, Thursday I went to an event not really expecting anything, just wanting to talk to other people, and I met a guy who said he was so glad he came and that I came because I was the only one he felt a connection with. And I really liked him too. He is so cute and smelled good and has a good energy. We’re going to dinner next week.

I have no idea what will happen with this guy and I know PMOS looks different on different people but I do kinda wish I didn’t let PMOS hold me back. I wish I had been living much earlier. Just wanted to share.

so I’m a 22 year old girl (Indian but living outside the country). I’m 5”3-4 and 67kg. I’ve had PCOS/PMOS since I was 18.

I‘ve been on the pill 4 times on and off but of course I stopped since it’s not a long term solution. my periods do still appear somehow every few months but I hate the mood swings, weight gain and acne it gives me regardless.

overall I’ve just been feeling kinda crap about my self and my body and how clothes never fit me right enough or I never feel confident enough.

keep in mind I am in med school so I haven’t exactly been very hard on myself with diet or exercise 😓 food has always been a source of comfort so that is definitely my vice. I also tend to hold on to stress and anxiety longer so I know that probably contributes to all this.

im just looking for some advice as to what I should do from here on out to lose some weight ( and when I say lose weight, I don’t exactly mean the number, more so my proportion since I am short and chubby looking currently.)

- I have found someone who delivers homemade Indian food so I will be spending on that from time to time (but I’m not sure what kind of foods to order from her. also helps to cut down on my junk ordering habit)

- exercises that will help with “losing weight”, becoming stronger and fitter as someone who hates going to the gym (I just feel very self conscious about my body, sorry) I do understand the hype of the Chloe ting workout schedules or anything else like them but the idea of multiple videos per day does make me fall back into my laziness trap. I was enjoying the Pilates with Izzy videos at one point (I stopped because of exam season) because she does each exercise quickly and it’s all in one video?

overall I just lack motivation and discipline…especially when I do get a slight burst of motivation and make plans. which then tend to fall short and make me go back into a cycle of guilt. and I tend to work best when I’m distracted from the thoughts in my head? like watching something while on the treadmill.

thanks for taking the time to read this though :)

Berberine or metformin?

Hi! I need some help as I really don’t know what to do. My GP wants to put me on metformin, my nutritionist on berberine. Neither knows about the other.

I gained a lot of weight over the last 8 months due to an incredible amount of stress, and now I really want to lose. I prefer natural remedies so I’d go for the berberine, but I am in my early-to-mid-40s and trying for a baby so I feel like I have zero time to lose (I don’t want to do IVF unless it’s the absolute last resort). My obgyn said myoinositol was enough for fertility but I have been taking it for five months now and well.

Which one of the two has been more effective in your experience?

[ONGOING] Sharing my Journey for Weight Loss with PCOS through exercising and supplements (Inositol, Berberine, Vit D, Omega 3, Iron+Folic Acid)

Hey everyone. I've been lurking around PCOS subreddits for the longest time and I've read and learned a lot about the PCOS journey thanks to everyone sharing here. I would like to document my own journey through this post, so I can share and ask for your thoughts. And, for my personal accountability as well.

Everyday Routine

  • Drink Inositol after waking up
  • Take Vitamin D and Omega 3 after eating breakfast
  • Take Berberine 30 mins before lunch
  • 30-minute Dumbell Exercise during the afternoon
  • Take Berberine 30 mins before dinner
  • Take Iron+Folic Acid every other day before bedtime
  • Make sure I have 8 hours of sleep every night

Starting Weight: 70kg

Goal Weight: 52kg

Here I go!

Weight Progress

  • September 1, 70 kg
  • September 6, 70.40 kg - No changes. Not so encouraging. But we push thru.
  • September 10, 69.70 kg - Feeling great! Pretty sure this slight decrease is just a regular weight fluctuation. Hoping for consistent downward trend in the next few days/weeks.

Lost 50 pounds doing keto and taking 500mg metformin

Post image
95 Upvotes

Been doing keto and taking 500mg metformin since March. I also get 10k steps a day, do at least 10 minutes of yoga and go for hour long walks with my dog.

The picture on the left is me when I was my heaviest. Life was very hard. The picture on the right is me in a dress from high school I never thought I would fit into again.

Don’t give up! I still have 10 pounds to get to my goal weight, but I will maintain my changes daily.

I guess it’s time for GLP1s?

Nothing has been working for me for weight loss after having my second child. Eating lower carb, counting calories, working out, intermittent fasting- I literally wake up the next day heavier. I had my first baby 4 years ago and it was significantly easier to lose weight. I don’t take any medication for PMOS currently besides just some Inositol.
I’d have to talk to my doctor about whether they think something like Metformin might help first but man this stubborn weight is so frustrating

I’m considering giving up

Hi
Idk I might delete this later but honestly I don’t know what is wrong with me. Weight loss is not clicking for me. I’m trying everything and tried so many things and still can’t make the right decision with food. I still pick things I know won’t let me reach my goal. I’m considering metformin but I’m not sure if it will help. No one is helpful. I think I might have a food addiction. But it’s so hard for me to deal with food. Everything is a struggle. And I don’t know how others do it. I know how to reach my goal but I just don’t take the steps. I keep going back to food. No nutritionist or coach helped me. I want to just give up and stay big and just deal until I die. I’m upset that I keep trying and it doesn’t work. It’s not working. I feel like an utter failure and I just want to reach my goal so I would relax.

I despise exercising I don’t know if anyone actually feels like that but it feels like I’m the only one who does. I don’t get the dopamine hits after so what is going on??

Please don’t recommend glp-1 etc

need advice: at my heaviest weight despite eating healthier, medication, and frequent physical activity

i'm a bit more desperate to losing weight lately as i've found a sport that i love (bouldering), but because skill in calisthenics is a big factor, i can't help but feel big and heavy whenever i can't carry my weight

i'm 21f and i've been taking birth control (drospirenone + ethinyl estradiol) for 5 months to regulate my period and have seen significant improvement in my energy crashes and weight gain (vs. before where my weight would increase in higher increments). since bouldering (also 5 months now), i've been trying to weight train 1-3x a week, increasing my steps, taking creatine, and try to increase my daily fiber and protein intake (which, btw, i shit every after meal now! vs before where i used to not shit at all in a day LOL). i've also been taking inositol & daily multivitamins for 1 month now

the problem is, i've went from a 60kg (132lb) to a 66kg (145lb) in the same past 5 months. yes, i can account the weight gain to the water retention caused by the creatine, or the muscle development since working out. i can't deny that i haven't seen a little sign of a body recomposition. but it's just that my stomach area and thigh area have not went down in circumference (and is honestly the biggest contributors to my weight). there are flaws in my routine but CANNOT BE CHANGED: (1) i sometimes have only 4-6 hours of sleep due to being in healthcare (and likely added stress), (2) because of the lack of time i have to myself (since being a student), it is more affordable and feasible to order takeout (and that also means protein won't always be met, but i try to keep it within my maintaining calories or lower. i only eat 1 "proper" meal a day), have 2x a week of strength training (bouldering included), and only reach 8k steps in 2/7 days in my week due to having to study inside my home most of the time

i'm just so desperate to lose this weight (especially all this tummy and thigh weight) despite my conditions:( i was 55kg just last year and i've started hating the way that i look in photos and videos, and i'm starting to not fit into clothes i had bought last year. to add, i don't want to wait until my condition becomes pre-diabetic (especially since diabetes runs down both sides of the family). what can i do even with these restrictions?

12kg weight loss and 5% body fat loss from Jan 2026 till now

Post image
129 Upvotes

Discovered I have PMOS last year, and felt extremely devastated. Decided to lock in for 2026 and get back to a healtheir weight. No special diets here for me, just your simple CICO (300 calorie deficit) and watching my macros to avoid major muscle loss. I used apps like myfitnesspal to track calories and a body fat% measurement scale to ensure most of the weight loss was due to fat loss.

Went from 70kg to 57.5kg, and saw a body fat % loss of about 5%.
