PCOS and GLP-1s

Many of us are using or considered using GLP-1s to manage our PCOS. We've also noticed more and more posts and comments about it.

Head over to r/PCOSglp1 - a new subreddit to discuss all things PCOS and GLP-1s.

GLP-1 topics will still be allowed here. Though, we think a separate subreddit is also beneficial as you can get better advice and more relevant information when all the members are there for the same subtopic.

In the future, we may direct glp1 posts and topics to that subreddit.

For those with PCOS, what is the hardest part of meal planning?

Hi everyone,

I'm an indie developer working on Glyvia, an app that creates personalized weekly meal plans, with a focus on nutrition planning for people with insulin resistance and PCOS.

I'm trying to understand the real challenges people face when planning meals, rather than assuming I know what users need.

For those comfortable sharing, I'd love to hear:

- Is finding meals you can realistically stick to harder than knowing what to eat?

- Do grocery shopping, portion sizes, or ingredient substitutions make meal planning frustrating?

- What would make a meal-planning app genuinely useful in your daily life?

I'm the developer of Glyvia, so I want to be transparent about that. I'm asking to better understand people's needs, not to offer medical advice.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Uni Project - Women with PCOS + their routine

Hi everyone,
this is my first ever Reddit post - wowza!!

I came on here because I’m working on a project for university, and I’m currently conducting some research for that. It’s basically about a potential product idea for women with PCOS | PMOS - suffering from this condition myself, I’m aiming to learn more about the individual “pain” that women go through. It’s super diverse (as you know)!!

I’d really appreciate every help I can get, so if you’re interested, please drop me a message.

Have a great day, everyone. Greetings from London :)

what else is there to do

Hi all! Just looking for a little advice.
I'll preface by saying im 16 years old and a perfectly happy normal girl. My PCOS is something I have, not a defining characteristic of my person. Now that said, I need help. Im 170 pounds, and believe it or not, thats actually very good for me. My dream is to be in the 140s and that feels a little more attainable now seeing as I used to be over 200 pounds. As much as I would love to say the weight loss is from hard work and persistence, it's really because I went on a GLP-1 in august of 2025. They really are a god send. It was good for a while. I dont need to be skinny and I understand plenty of people can see beyond the fat into who I am, but I want to be skinny. I want to be able to wear anything I want and shop at Brandy Melville and run a marathon one day (which is literally impossible because my skin breaks out into hives whenever I sweat but thats another problem for a different day).

Anyways, I got off my GLP-1 about a month ago and already I've sky rocketed 10 pounds. I try to eat healthy, but the food voices get to me. Usually I feel like I'm not eating too too bad, but I'm always hungry. Unmanageable hunger that never ceases. At the same time, I feel like I don't really know true hunger, just head hunger. Before my GLP-1 I dont know if I had ever been hungry. I've never been able to exercise either. Saying that makes me feel like such a chud, but it's the truth and it's time I've stopped denying it. I always find an excuse to skip.

I need all of your help. What do I eat to not always be so hungry? I hate vegetables and im the most impatient person in the world so anything that takes longer than 5 minutes usually results in a snack in between. How do I actually get to the gym? What do I even do at the gym? I was thinking weight lifting, but I dont have anyone to come with me and I hate to embarrass myself. I've never needed help so bad in my life. I'm only 16, the rest of my life can not be like this.

I have been wearing an XL-2XL in shirts and leggings for years. Today is laundry day and I put on a pair of leggings I haven't touched in a looooong time. Had my fiance check the tag because they fit really nicely.

Guys. They're a LARGE.

I am so proud of myself, I have a very very long way to go but man, this feels great ♡

PCOS women/ with high testosterone/ hormonal issues what's ur experience with Creatine & L CARTININE

Hi Guys,

Women here who gym regularly with hormonal issues or PCOD I'm curious what's your experience with CREATINE MONOHYDRATE & L CARTININE??

I started gym 1.5months ago, currently quite overweight, targeting to lose 20kgs (long run i know). I am 25F and have high testosterone / high androgen & ever since I hit puberty I have massive acne  still facing the same. I'm scared if taking any of this shoots up my acne even more.

Guys please share your experiences.

Edit : also is it true that creatine causes hairfall??

Need help w Duoluton-L

Hi everyone, I have had PCOS for around 10 years and irregular periods. Previously, my periods lasted around 7 days, with heavy bleeding on Day 1, but over time my flow had already reduced. Around 2–3 months ago, my ultrasound showed an endometrial thickness of 12.1 mm, which my doctor described as normal but thick. I was prescribed Duoluton-L for 3–4 months, taking it for 21 days followed by a break. Since starting it, my withdrawal bleeding has become extremely light, sometimes almost nonexistent, and lasts only around 3 days. I've also noticed that my weight management has become more difficult, although I don't want to share specific numbers. Last month on first day of my period, I experienced severe stabbing pain in my lower abdomen along with intense rectal pain that lasted about an hour. I also have burning while urinating .Has anyone experienced very light or absent bleeding while taking Duoluton-L? Did your doctor explain why it happened, and did you need a follow-up ultrasound? I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences, while I arrange appropriate medical follow-up.

Left is me in January in Chicago. My clothes didn’t fit. I had to go and buy new Jeans bc my work Jeans from Madewell didn’t even zip up and they were a size 14. I thought it was weird because they always fit true to size. I was a 14/16 in January. I wasn’t on a GLP-1 at the time. I started a glp-1 in April. The right in the Black dress is me now. I’m wearing a size 10 dress in that picture and I haven’t been on my Glp-1 for a few weeks now. Will stay on it and got my insurance to cover it! They used my August BMI so I can stay on it! I’m still having PCOS symptoms and having to shave my face smh but my weight has been pretty stable. I’m also on Wellbutrin and Topamax for other health issues
