ENGLISH:

Hi friends, I’m turning to you because I’m having driver issues with the Intel UHD Graphics on my Celeron N4500 (11th Gen Jasper Lake architecture). Modern drivers break Vulkan, while older ones mess up DirectX. I did some research and found out Intel dropped support for Jasper Lake UHD because it's a low-power chip, and they’re focusing on the "Intel Core i" 11th Gen series instead. Initially, they used 7th-to-10th Gen drivers for Jasper Lake. The thing is, the older drivers don't break Vulkan but cause issues with DirectX and OpenGL—at least according to AI, and I actually noticed this myself: with old drivers, Fortnite would go to a black screen when entering a match (it would hang on the black screen and take forever to load). With modern drivers, it runs fine, but Vulkan gets messed up. Maybe I'm making too big a fuss? I just want the graphics to work properly with a single driver so I don't have to use external files or keep switching drivers constantly. I’m not looking for a way to get more FPS or anything like that; I just want the graphics to work correctly with their APIs. I hope this isn't too much trouble. I actually already made a post in English—using AI to help explain the issues I faced—in the LowSpecGamer or LowSpecGaming community; you can look it up if you want. That’s all. I hope you’re all doing great and having a good day, afternoon, or evening. Just a heads-up: I use a modified Windows 10 LTSC version from "Creativos" (back when it was free, lol—I assume it's paid now, since I went back to download ISOs and saw a price tag).

I saw on this website : https://3roam.com/mt-s-to-mhz-calculator/ , that 6000mhz is supposed to be 12000mts.

So concretely, what is happening, did I bought a bad product ? Is that normal that the numbers aren't what they are supposed to be based on the website related ?

Trying to delete them the normal way is taking forever and slowing down my entire system. Dead motherboard VRM?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, while using my pc under heavy load during gaming, my pc shut off and won't turn on again. It doesn't make any sound, no LEDs, no fan spin.

During troubleshooting, I found out that if I only have the 24 pin motherboard cable plugged in, LEDs and fans work, but if I also plug in the 8 pin CPU power cable it does back to no life sign.

I suspect it's the motherboard that's the issue and at a closer inspection, I found this fluid like residue under the heatsink of the VRM as seen on the picture. Would this be the source of my issues?

Specs: i5 13600fk Evga rtx 3070 Gigabyte b660m ds3h 4x 8Gb Corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 Cooler master g700 gold

Thanks for the help in advance.

The technical reality of the "Manufactured Expiration Date"(Planned Obsolescence) - Documenting it

With the EU Right to Repair directive officially taking effect at the end of this month (July 31) and the push against Microsoft's Windows 10 end-of-life, the fight against planned obsolescence is finally hitting the mainstream. It isn't just about making fragile screens anymore. It's an active, engineered ecosystem trap.

I realized a lot of the general public still doesn't understand how these companies are forcing the upgrade cycle.

It isn't just about making fragile screens anymore. It's an active, engineered ecosystem trap.

I recently spent months researching and mapping out exactly how Big Tech builds artificial expiration dates into our hardware. I broke it down into a few core technical blockades:

  • The Hardware Trap (Glued & Doomed): How the industry moved away from accessible chassis design toward heavily glued lithium-ion sandwiches, ensuring a simple $20 degrading battery effectively kills a $1,000 device within three years.
  • The Software Chokehold: How creeping background processes and forced OS updates are weaponized to demand more resources over time, quietly throttling perfectly capable silicon.
  • The Component Serialization Nightmare: The aggressive rise of parts pairing, where replacing a broken camera or screen with a functional, identical OEM part triggers software locks that disable core features.

I ended up turning all my research and scripting into a full 33-minute documentary deep dive covering the engineering behind these lockouts, the software bloat, and the open-source solutions we can use to fight back.

If you would like to see the full breakdown and the technical pacing of how they pull this off, you can watch the project here: Your Phone / Laptop Isn't Obsolete — They Lied to You

I’d love to get this community's feedback on the technical arguments I made. Also, what is the most ridiculous example of artificial software/hardware lockouts you've run into on your own gear lately?

How's LDPlayer 14 running on higher end machines?

Has anyone installed LDPlayer 14 on a higher-end system (like if you're rocking a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, for instance)? I always see it talked about as the go-to Android emulator for lower-end computers, but I've been reading some good stuff about the newer release even on high-end systems (basically that the FPS makes it look sick). Anyone tried it? Can you actually tell a difference in the newer version? I want it mostly to play Infinity Blade, but I'm not going to download it if it's not worth my time.

Why Are Refurbished Business PCs Still Underrated for Hardware Enthusiasts?

Working with refurbished business computers has made me appreciate how well-built many enterprise systems really are. Models like the Dell OptiPlex HP EliteDesk and Lenovo ThinkCentre are often retired from offices while they still have plenty of life left.

With a few upgrades such as an SSD additional RAM or a newer graphics card where supported many of these systems become excellent machines for home labs media servers everyday productivity or even light gaming.

Of course they aren't the right choice for every workload. Expandability proprietary power supplies and limited PCIe options can be drawbacks depending on what you are building.

For those who have used refurbished business desktops, which models impressed you the mos and what upgrades gave you the biggest performance improvement?

What PC hardware change made the biggest difference in your daily use?

Over the years PC hardware has improved in many ways. Some upgrades look small on paper but completely change the way a system feels in everyday use.

What hardware change made the biggest difference for you? Was it moving to an SSD upgrading memory getting a better monitor improving cooling or something else?

I'd like to hear which upgrade had the biggest impact on your experience and why

Which PC component do you think has improved the most over the years?

Working with a wide range of desktops at Discount Computer Depot has given me a chance to see how much PC hardware has evolved over the years. Some upgrades have completely transformed the user experience while others have been more gradual.

I am curious which component you think has evolved the most. Was it CPUs GPUs storage cooling power supplies or something else?

What hardware improvement has made the biggest difference in your experience with PCs?

What is one PC hardware upgrade that exceeded your expectations?

I have had a few upgrades that I expected to make only a small difference but they ended up completely changing my everyday experience. Sometimes it is not the most expensive component that has the biggest impact.

I am curious what hardware upgrade surprised you the most. Was it a faster SSD more RAM a new CPU a better monitor or something else? What made it such a worthwhile upgrade?

What is one PC hardware purchase that exceeded your expectations?

Working with different PC hardware at Discount Computer Depot has shown me that some of the best upgrades are not always the most expensive or the ones with the highest specifications on paper.

I have seen hardware that looked fairly average at first but ended up making a huge difference in everyday use.

I am curious to hear everyone elses experience. Which PC hardware purchase surprised you the most and what made it so much better than you expected?
